Chapter 14: Babies

After a couple of long months of looking on the map I finally found where BayneVille was located. I grab my bag and slip on some black skinny jeans, maroon V-neck shirt, and heeled combat boots with my hair in a high ponytail. I grab some flowers and put them in my bag with food, water, and medicine. I grab my sword and put it in my bag, Nathen has his things pack, and so does Xavier, Hayley, Simon, Raphael, Jace, Zach, Max, and Amy. Everyone else stays behind and safe, but I made sure everything was secured before I left. We all walk to the van and get inside; I look down and put my hand on my stomach. My stomach has grown a lot and it looked like I was ready to pop any day. I sit in between Xavier and Nathen, because they said before this, "We are the men of the family, we will protect you and the baby you carry."

After on the road for a while, not on the highway, but the backroads we took, we stopped to get gas. We all get out of the van and while some help with the gas, I look at the map and see we are not even halfway there. Yes, it's further away, and it will probably take a couple of weeks. I feel a hard kick in my stomach, and I lean over holding it hissing, Xavier comes to me quickly and helps me. Nathen walks over and holds my hand; I smile at him and hear a snap come from the right side of me. I turn quickly and see a deer run out of the woods and almost run into me, but I move. I look back at the woods and see some walkers, and it wasn't just five, there were like twenty. I whistle to the others, and they duck down, Xavier pulls Nathen and I inside the van closing the door quietly.

Everyone else is hiding hopefully and we will continue until the herd passes. Nathen's head was in my lap and my head was in Xavier's lap while his was against the door. I look out of the window and see they are still coming; I start hurting again because of the baby kicking me. I wince and hold my stomach not liking the feeling, Xavier hands me his hand to take, so I take it and squeeze it until the pain goes away. By then the herd is gone and we get out of the car quietly. Zach rushes over to me and makes sure I'm okay, he hands me his water to take so I take it and drink. Raphael comes to me with Simon and Jace as well, eventually Hayley comes over and puts her hand on my stomach. She looks at me and then looks at them and say, "We are going to have to find a place that's safe for her to give birth soon, she doesn't have much time left."

Jace grabs the map, and we look on the map for a place to stay for a couple of days until I give birth. Raphael points to a place in the woods and says, "There is my cabin, it's close by and we can stay there for a while." I nod my head and Simon says, "Guys, we might have to go on foot until we reach, because we can't get any gas." "Okay guys, on foot it is." Zach says. After walking for what feels like forever on the road and through the woods, we see a cabin in the distance. I look over to see Nathen sleeping on Xaviers back, I smile and continue walking to the cabin. Once we get there Raphael opens the door and says, "The bedroom is for Hope and her family." I look at him and said, "No it's ok guys, someone else can take it." Raphael looks at me and says, "You'll be uncomfortable on the floor and couch, plus you have a husband and a kid, also let's not forget you're carrying one." I nod and he shows us the way, he opens the door and walks away.

Xavier lays Nathen on the bed and covers him up after taking his bag off his back. I look at Xavier and he walks over to me and hugs me, he kisses my head and says, "Everything will be okay." I nod my head and we lay down in bed until morning. I look around my surroundings and see I'm not in the cabin anymore and probably having a vision. I hear someone yelling something and then it's silent, I then hear someone say, "Poor Hope, she is going to be delivering my great nephew or great granddaughter soon. I hope you make it through childbirth and let me meet them when you make it to BayneVille and find the special tree." I put my hand on my stomach and look around at the place and then everything is gone.

I wake up and close my eyes, after I open my eyes, I get up to use the bathroom. After using the bathroom, I walk out into the hallway and that's when I feel something wet go down my legs and onto the floor. Pain shoots through my body and I breathe in and out through my mouth slowly. "Xavier!" I yell in pain. Raphael is instantly beside me and he helps me to the room where Xavier is getting up off the bed. He helps Raphael lay me down with pillows behind me propping me up. Raphael picks up the now awake Nathen and brings him into the front room to sit and wait. I keep doing my breathing techniques and Hayley finally comes in, she puts my legs where they are supposed to be and says, "I've never delivered someone baby for them, but I've seen people do it."

After hours and hours of me screaming and crying in pain while trying to push this baby out of me, Hayley finally leaves with the baby in her hands to wash her off. I lay my head back still holding Xavier's hand and a couple minutes later Hayley comes back in with a baby swaddled in pink. We got two different baby blankets, one is blue if it was a boy, and one is pink if it was a girl. She hands me the baby and I see her eyes closed and her brown hair on her little head. I hold her in my arms, and she finally opens her eyes to show me her baby blue eyes, her eyes were like the ocean. I then feel another pain hit me and Xavier takes the baby out of my hands and holds her, Hayley rushes in and asks, "What's wrong?" I start pushing and Hayley rushes over and I see another baby in her hands, but then she hollers for Zach, and she hands the baby to him. I see another baby and they both walk out to clean the babies up.

She rushes out and cleans the baby, and when she comes back, it's swaddled in blue, it was a boy and they were twins? Hayley hands me the baby and says, "Congratulations momma you had triplets." Zach holds the baby in blue and Hayley hands me the baby in black. I look at the triplets and say, "My baby girl's name will be Stella, baby blue is Silas, and this baby's name is Triston." Xavier nods and sits down on the bed beside me, Nathen rushes in and over to my side to see three babies in the room. Zach helps Nathen hold baby Silas and then leaves after giving me a kiss on my forehead. I have tears in my eyes, I look over at Nathen and he is mesmerized by Silas. As I am mesmerized with all of my little babies.
