"Young master, are you dozing off again?" A voice of a man questioned.
On an open garden field, two figures can be seen. One of them was an old man wearing a butler's uniform, while the other is a young man holding a book.
He was a slender young man with pale skin and ashy light-blond hair that trailed down to his shoulders and was pulled back into a braided half ponytail.
If one were to look at his face, one would find that he had an exceptionally captivating appearance. Coupled with his bright teal eyes, one would surely admit that he was good-looking.
As for his clothing, he was wearing a simple short-sleeved white t-shirt coupled with brown shorts.
The two of them were currently under a tree. The former was standing while the former was sitting down reading a book.
Hearing the butler's words from earlier, the young man spoke nonchalantly. "I think you'd know the answer by now..." After saying this, he quietly flipped to the next page of the book he was reading.
The butler sighed at the young man's words and solidified his tone. He once again spoke, "Forgive me, but today is an exception and I must interrupt your reading for today..."
"...Young Master Alistair." The butler added.
The young man stopped reading once he heard his name called out. He then went quiet before speaking a few seconds later. "...Will he visit today?"
"Yes," The butler responded earnestly with a nod. "Lord Overseer Otto shall pay a visit to House Schariac today."
"..." The young man named Alistair stopped reading and closed the book he was reading with an audible 'thud'. With a soft voice, he asked, "He's here to take big sister... Isn't he?"
"Young Master, you shouldn't say that," The butler shook his head at the words of Alistair. "Lord Overseer is here to help Miss Cecilia grow stronger and to help Schicksal."
"I know," Alistair nodded with an understanding. He then stood up and looked at the Butler with eyes as if they want to kill a person. "I just hope Lord Overseer won't do anything bad to her."
"...I hope you won't say that to Lord Overseer, Young Master." The butler wiped sweat beads from his forehead with a handkerchief at Alistair's words.
Alistair merely softly smiled before standing up. He then walked past the butler. "...I'll try." After saying this, Alistair walked away with a book in his hand.
Soon, a person who was sweeping leaves of the garden not far away approached the butler.
"Young Master really doesn't like Lord Overseer, huh?" The sweeper said with sweat on his face as he looked at Alistair's departing figure.
The butler shook his head at the man's words. "No, it would be better to say that Young Master is really protective of Miss Cecilia."
The sweeper nodded his head. "If there's one thing the Young Master values the most, it's Miss Cecilia's well-being. He's a really good brother."
"Yes, however, it would sometimes cloud his vision." The Butler shook his head. He then looked back at the sweeper. "Enough chit-chat then. Go hack to your work, Stephen. Make sure to tell the others to clean the rear of the manor"
"Will do." The sweeper said before walking away.
The butler then looked at Alistair's figure in the distance and shook his head to the sides. He truly did not understand the latter.
Well, to others, it might seem that Alistair is just a very protective younger brother wanting the best for his sister.
But in reality, there's more than that.
Alistair stopped walking and looked at a nearby apple tree. He then gritted his teeth inside his mouth. 'It's happening... Damn it...'
Without him knowing, his grip on the book he was holding was getting tighter. 'Will I be able to save her from that man...?'
Truth be told, Alistair, the young scion of House Schariac, holds a deep secret he cannot tell anyone.
He was a reincarnator.
Due to a series of events, he died in his previous life and reincarnated. He didn't understand the reason for his reincarnation— but there was one thing that he noticed right away when he first gained self-awareness are age 2.
He was in the world of Honkai. To be precise, a couple of years before the second eruption.
He was born into House Schariac— one of the three houses that fight against the Honkai.
House Schariac have excellent control over Honkai energies, and their fighters mainly consist of women who have a chance to take in the Holy Blood.
As a member of the Three Houses, they are an important pillar of Schicksal— an Anti-Honkai organization, and their role there is the "Divine Maiden".
At first, Alistair was overwhelmed when he found out that he was reborn into such a dangerous world where Gods would just pop out of nowhere if someone was pushed to the limits.
However, he soon found out about his situation. When he realized that he was of Schariac lineage, he thought that he could utilize the house's influence to stay safe.
However, there was one problem. He was a male.
Throughout House Schariac's history, only matriarchs have led the Schariacs, and no patriarch has ever appeared.
This is because women in the house have higher chances of grasping and manipulating the Honkai, compared to men.
As the son of the current head of the family, despite being a man, he was still given respect due to his status.
But other than that, he was seen as nothing more than a waste who has yet to grasp Honkai.
When some members of the House can manipulate Honkai at an early age, he, on the other hand, had yet to grasp it compared to others.
No one acquainted themselves with him due to his poor talent, and he was always in reclusion.
However, that all changed when "she" appeared.
The only person who approached him and even bonded with him in this suffocating world of his.
Cecilia Schariac.
She was the only person that took the time to talk to him and understand him.
Obviously, he instantly knew who she was and didn't know what to do at the start.
But little by little, the two of them got close, and Alistair's once dull heart opened up.
Something changed in him, and he acknowledged them.
From then on, he made a promise to himself. Something that he should absolutely must fulfill.
'To have a world where she won't die.' That was the kind of world he envisioned.
He knew he was walking down the path that someone else is currently walking, but he had no other choice.
That's why he created an ambition for himself. To stop the clown from fulfilling his plan and stopping the atrocities he would commit in the future.
Alistair would become a new player in Otto's game. A hidden player, acting beneath the field.
A fight between two clowns.
A hypocrite to a fellow hypocrite.
A loser to a loser.
Although he was nothing compared to Otto right now, he has something akin to a card up his sleeves. He knows that most people don't know about this world.
The Pre-Civilization, the Will of the Honkai, Herrschers, and more.
Information that no one else would know was at his fingertips.
It only depends on him now on how to utilize them to his advantage.
Alistair looked up at the sky and blocked the sun's light with his hand before softly muttering, "I will save you... No matter what..."
