23 Chapter-23 : Lucas[1]

Richard never left Broadway, some may think after becoming an actor in Hollywood he will leave Broadway but he didn't.

As soon as his any work finishes and he comes back home, he will go back to Broadway. What sever the work he has, he will always make sure have time for Broadway.

Unlike his passion for Hollywood, he gradually loved being in the Broadway. What he likes most in Broadway is its atmosphere. When ever he enters it, he feels a renewed passion for performance, for acting and he loves this feeling to the point to a sense of longing.

Although he attends in less shows after going to Hollywood, but he often practice or do rehearsals. Specially after the problem he faced in the film <The Sixth sense> he had been practicing different kinds of role to Borden his acting skills.

Other than acting Ric often learns dancing, singing or playing instruments. He is quite famous in the circle as the most curious kid but dedicated to learn new things.

One day when Richard was practicing dancing with a rehearsal group, Ari Emanuel made a surprise visit.

When he went to meet with Ari he found out that there was another person with him.

"Hey Ric this is David Seltzer, He have a Script which I think is interesting and quite challenging for you." Ari said moment he saw Ric coming.

Ari knows Ric usually don't do more than one film a year. When he did, It usually his own script or script he found interesting. Over the five years since entering Hollywood many script was offered to him but, mostly all where rejected.

As this year's film schedule is over and Ric didn't tell him his next years plan.

When David Seltzer offered the Script, the timing could have been any better. So, Ari took the script and read, he found out it is little of both interesting and challenging matching Ric requirement. So, he bought the script along with the man who brought it.

"Hello Mr.Jackson, I have to seen your movies, I have to say your as impressive as a writer and an actor."

"Well thank you Mr. Seltzer but please call me Richard. If you call me Mr. Jackson my response will be to look around to check my dad is here or not."

"Ha ha ha ... you have great sense of humor, Richard. I hope you will like my script." said David Seltzer while giving the script to Richard.

"Off course, if the script is as interesting as Ari have said. Since my schedule is free, working in a film is most welcome." Ric smiled.

Taking the script, Ric looked at it, the name <Lucas> seemed very familiar to him. After reading the script quite a while, he finally remembered this film.

This film will be released next year, why Ric remembers this film because of Courtney Thorne-Smith and Winona Ryder made their theatrical debut in it.

Richard likes the character Lucas very much and right now its the perfect character what he needs to break the image of Kevin and farther establish his plasticity persona as an actor.

"Well Ari , your right, this script is interesting. I like it. Which role you want to give me Mr. Seltzer " replied Ric after reading the script.

"Well you probably guessed, I want you to play Lucas. Beside Richard call me David, Seltzer or Sel what ever you like."

"Well Sel, I like the script and no problem playing the role. But have you found a production company."

"Yes, 20 century fox will be the producer and I will be the director. But don't worry I have necessary experience."

"Well everything is good and all, but does the film's budget can afford me." asked Ric uncertainly.

"Don't worry, it can renegotiated as you have shown interest they might reconsider to increase the budget." replied Seltzer with a confidence.

"If that's the case, Ari you go with Sel and help him also tell fox that I am willing to be the produce 'whispers in his ear' tell them i am even willing to lower the share but in exchange of sharing the final editing of both the film and the script."

Even though his appeal might bring good box office for the film but to increase more box office result he needs few of the palace's in the script to be modified.

After they left, Ric staid for another hour before going home.

At his home he is doing some finishing touches in his new script that he the wrote. This script is Matilda.

He made this script for Drew as a promise he made to her.

One day Drew and Ric was talking about films they took part in, she complained that Ric being a script writer didn't write a script for her when she heard that he wrote a script for there godfather.

He promised to make a Script just for her where she act as the main character.

The film was released in 1998 by TriStar pictures. Although the film was good but the box office was very bland against a high budget.

This film will be not only for Drew to make her more popular but also a important step for <Feather Pixar visuals> in the special effect market.

<Feather Pixar Visuals> or FPV is the special effect division of Pixar which was split form it this September and made its own independent office after developing for two years.

As the film is about a psychic girl, so there will be quite a few visual effect or special effect shots and Ric will give to FPV to see their progress.

If the movie is successful it will not only help Drew but also establish FPV's position in the special effect market but also be the pioneer for successful computer effects in the market

Also it will help in establishing a brand in computer effects like Industry light and Magic in special effect before its competitors.
