Caught off guard, Sky suddenly backed up and proceeded to fall on his butt. Not even bothering to stand back up, he began a stream of "No no no!" and "Of course not, that's crazy!" Nico walked over to the fallen boy, and offered his hand. Sky saw the skeptical gleam in the black haired boy's eyes, but took the outstretched hand anyway.
He thanked the god he did not believe in for the low glow of neon store fronts hiding his obvious blush. He tried to continue towards the shop but realized after a few steps that Nico was doubled over. Was he crying? No, the rise and fall of his chest indicated laughter. After brushing away a few tears, Nico looked at Sky and said, "You are the WORST liar I have ever met!" He then began to gaphaw again.
Sky was embarrassed. If a near stranger could spot his and Riley's connection, how obvious was it? Nico finally caught up to Sky, and with a stable voice, said "Me and Will were like that once. Hiding ourselves from the world. I came from an old fashioned family with many ideas that were not accepting. But Will worked with me. Baby steps of our hands resting on top of each other or a peck on the check when no one was looking. But don't worry, it will get better."
Sky felt oddly comforted by this, knowing that some day him and Riley could act like every other couple. Nico turned towards him one last time, and in a low voice said, "Your secret is safe with me."
