Chapter 112: Analysing Myths from a Magical Perspective

Cedric looked at Andy with a face of envy.

That shamelessness, how come he didn't have it.

Andy patted Cedric's shoulder, "Hermione has been studying the myths and legends over in Asia recently, and Cho is also there. How about a trip to the library?"

Cedric directly jumped up from the ground, "Why didn't you say so earlier."

After saying that, Cedric also looked at Andy with a grudging face.

There is this kind of good opportunity, you still pull me to play a damn duelling game, huh?

Are you not a good brother anymore?

"I'm just trying to make it look natural!"

Andy spread his hands and laughed: "You are a third-year student of Hufflepuff, if I bring you there directly, what should I say to Cho?"

"Say that you admire her beauty, so you followed me over to have a look?"

"When did I ..." Cedric blushed.

Saying something like admiring Cho's beauty was too embarrassing!

Cedric's toes dug into the ground and his hands simply had nowhere to rest.

The corner of Andy's lips slightly raised, tsk, really an innocent little boy.

"So, well, this is why I dragged you to practice duelling and talked about the wizarding culture of China during casual conversation..."

Andy laughed, "Doesn't that make it seem reasonable?"

Cedric nodded repeatedly, yes, yes, yes, you are right about everything, let's go!

***

Library.

Andy and Cedric searched around before finding Hermione and Cho Chang in the corner of the library, the two of them flipping through the books while whispering something.

The location was well-chosen, right out of Madam Pince's line of sight.

Andy was about to walk over when he realized that Cedric stopped where he was and didn't follow.

Upon looking back...

Andy couldn't help but hold his forehead.

Quite a handsome guy, why do you still act like a nymphomaniac?

"Hey! Don't be ridiculous!"

Andy pulled Cedric and reminded him, "Look at your silly face, don't scare Cho now."

"Sorry!"

Cedric snapped back to his senses, hastily straightened his clothes and ran his hand through his hair again, "Andy, is it okay?"

"Very cool!" Andy shrugged with a bemused look on his face.

"Hi! Hermione, Cho, hi!" Leading Cedric over, Andy whispered a greeting and pulled out the chair to sit across from the two, the whole set of movements was as natural as flowing water.

"Hi guys, I'm Cedric Diggory, a third-year Hufflepuff student." Cedric was a bit stiff at first, but he quickly adjusted himself and followed and sat next to Andy.

Cho Chang looked up at the two, "Hello guys! My name is Cho Chang, you can call me Cho."

"Hello, Mr. Diggory."

Hermione greeted, then looked at Andy and asked, "What brings you here, didn't you say you were looking for someone to practice duelling?"

"Hello, just call me Cedric."

After saying that, Cedric turned his head to look at Andy, could it be? Brother, have you even laid the groundwork beforehand?

How touching...

"I chatted with Cedric about the Chinese side of the magical world, I didn't expect him to be quite interested."

Andy casually dealt with it, and then asked, "What are you guys reading?"

"So many! Nuwa is mending the sky, Kuafu chasing the sun, and some other mythological series."

Hermione said as she flipped through the book, "There are some myths I've heard of before - I mean, back in the muggle world."

"I've also read the story of Nuwa."

Cedric hastily recalled the information he had looked up some time ago, "Legend has it that in the ancient times, when the sky was destroyed by a flood, a witch named Nuwa could not bear the suffering of the people and made multicoloured stones to repair the sky."

Cho Chang stared at Cedric with a surprised look on her face as she heard this.

She did not expect that there were so many people in the British magical community who were curious about the ancient legends of China.

Cedric couldn't help but raise the corners of his lips, Andy's information was simply too useful.

"In many mythological series, the legend of the flood exterminating the world is recorded."

Hermione looked like she was seriously investigating it, "But as far as I look into it, that's just an exaggeration from the ancient people who couldn't fight against the natural disaster."

"If Nuwa was a wizard, the multicoloured stone would have been an alchemical artefact. We all know that flooding can be prevented by fixing the riverbank."

Andy: What's with this tone of serious discussion?

Does someone still care about that now?

Also, isn't the multicoloured stone used to mend the sky? How did it change into a riverbank repair?

"Actually, if you put the myth close to reality, it can be interpreted that way."

Cedric said, "Many of the myths on the Muggle side are actually caused by ancient wizards. The muggles did not understand the wizards' magic, and as the rumours spread more and more, they became myths over time."

Cho Chang said, "When I was a child, my mom also told me these stories, in ancient China, there were still some legends about wizards during the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, but then they disappeared, maybe they were separated from the Muggle world!"

"Is it also called wizard over there in China?" Andy thought it would be called Qi Practitioners or something.

Cho Chang said, "That's what my mom said."

Cedric had a surprised look on his face, "Over in China, did the magical world separate from the muggle world so early?"

"That's what I know!"

Hermione said, "It's said that there was a war in ancient China, I think it was called the Battle of the Conferred Gods. If that wasn't a mythological story, maybe it was a war where wizards were participating in the muggle war."

Cho Chang explained, "The War to Conferred Gods seems to be an event that happened at the end of the Shang Dynasty!"

"That explains it!"

Hermione seemed to have discovered the truth, "As wizards were involved in the Muggle's war, it caused too many casualties in the war, and to avoid such a thing from happening again, the wizarding world was separated from the Muggle world."

Andy: "..."

Is this a forced explanation?

Listening to the three of them discussing one thing and another, Andy realized that if he ignored those memories from his previous life, these explanations still sounded reasonable.

But wasn't The Conferred Gods fiction?

"Andy, why aren't you talking?" It was rare for Hermione to see Andy not saying anything like he was now.

Andy looked up at Hermione, who glared fiercely at Andy: you asked me to fool Cho Chang into returning to China, why don't you say anything now?

"Is there a book on this in the library?" Andy asked.

Hermione handed a large book to Andy, "It's all here, read it yourself!"

Andy casually flipped through it.

The book did contain the ancient legends and stories of China, but looking at these familiar legends from his previous life from a magical perspective gave Andy a strange feeling.

Hermione glanced at the chapter that Andy saw, "That's the story of the Jingwei, but I think that might be the failed Animagus."

Andy: "..."

More interpretations...

"I think Jingwei drowned on the beach, isn't she?"

Cho Chang thought about it and said, "I remember when practising Animagus transformation, it seems like you need to wait for stormy weather."
