The Corridor Is Full of Cheer

Editor: Atlas Studios

Although this was the first time these young wizards had cast this spell, it was not difficult to learn, and nearly 40% of the students successfully cast it!

For a moment, a large number of buttons, flavoured beans, sweet packets, and other small objects were thrown at Peeves.

Peeves let out a high-pitched shriek and disappeared into a suit of armour at the end of the corridor, never to return…

The crowd of young wizards burst out laughing at Peeves's escape, and the corridor was suddenly filled with joy…

Lupin turned to the others with a smile of his own. "Those who managed to cast the spell, raise your hands and show me who has learned this little spell."

Hermione raised her hand high in the air, and Harry was only a step behind her, along with three other young Gryffindor wizards.

Ivan was no exception, of course, as the spell was easy for him to cast.

"Very good! There are six of you. Because of your outstanding performance, I will give each of you five points!" Lupin said, clapping his hands in appreciation. He then comforted the young wizards who did not manage to successfully cast the spell, patiently explaining how to use the spell.

In just a few minutes, the young witches and wizards who had doubted Lu Ping's abilities changed their minds and started to like him!

Ivan was impressed by how easily Lupin was able to impress these young wizards. If Lupin wasn't a werewolf, he would have done well in the wizarding world…

"All right, let's go in!" Lupin opened the door to the staffroom and smiled enigmatically. "Dealing with Peeves is just the appetizer of the lesson, and you'll have to be prepared for it!"

Harry and the others nervously and expectantly followed Lupin through the door.

"I'll settle for anything but a spider, I hope!" Ron complained quietly to Ivan.

"Not necessarily. I heard there's an Acromantula the size of a car in the Forbidden Forest. Maybe Professor Lupin will catch it and show us!" Ivan teased, and Ron's face turned green…

Ivan, of course, knew that Lupin's lesson would require them to deal with Boggart, but as far as Ron was concerned, it would be no different from dealing with a giant spider, so he told him to be prepared.

After entering the long classroom, Ivan looked around and saw that the decor was old, the walls were wood panelled, and the room was full of mismatched old chairs.

Lupin, who was walking in front, tapped his wand and the table and chairs were swept to the corner, creating a large, open space.

At that moment, a dark voice called out to them.

"Leave the door open, Lupin! I think it would be best not to witness your poor teaching skills…"

Lupin raised his eyebrows and stopped what he was doing.

Ivan looked over and saw Snape approaching from the right, clutching a reagent bottle.

Ron and the others were impressed by Snape's tone of voice. After what had happened with Peeves, they had a good impression of him.

Harry made an indignant retort.

"We all agree that Professor Lupin taught them well, at least better than…"

"Shut up, Potter!" Snape interrupted Harry, glaring at him with hawk-like eyes. "Insulting a professor will result in thirty points deducted from Gryffindor!"

Harry's eyes widened, and the other Gryffindor lions glared at Snape, who would have been riddled with holes if looks could kill.

They realised that Snape must have overheard Professor Lupin talking to them outside the door, as he had only just added thirty points to their total.

"It's my class, Severus!" Professor Lupin warned him, frowning.

However, just as Lupin was about to speak again, Snape revealed the dark brown potion in his hand and deliberately waved it in the air before handing it to him.

"This is your medicine. I've already prepared it in advance, so don't bother me again!"

Lupin had a vague feeling that something was wrong, but he accepted it without a word and put it away as soon as he could. Snape did not linger.

"Well…let's forget about this little incident and get back to class!" Lupin said, watching the young wizards change the subject.

"Also, I've just decided to give the top performer an extra thirty points! So you'll have to work hard!"

At Lupin's words, there was a loud slam on the door behind them, and Harry and the others burst out laughing. They didn't have to turn around to know that Snape had a nasty look on his face when he closed the door.

Lupin smiled along with the rest of the group, but his smile faded when his eyes fell on Ivan.

He suddenly realised why Snape had given him the Wolfsbane Potion at this point.

This was because Ivan, as the inventor of the Wolfsbane Potion, would be able to identify the potion and guess who it was.

Thinking of this, Lupin felt uneasy and stood rooted to the ground for a long time, making the young wizards feel strange.

Ivan, who seemed to be chatting with Hermione, turned around and looked strangely at Lupin, who had been in a daze for a long time.

"Professor Lupin, what's wrong? Don't we have classes?"

"Oh, no, nothing!" Lupin responded quickly, relieved to see that Ivan's expression was neutral. He assumed that Ivan had been talking to the Granger girl and had not noticed the potion.

Unbeknownst to Lupin, however, Ivan was faking all of this.

When Ivan saw Snape take out the bottle of Wolfsbane Potion, he guessed that Snape was trying to use him as an excuse to get rid of Lupin.

After all, Dumbledore should have asked Snape to promise not to reveal Lupin's identity as a werewolf, but given Snape's dislike of Lupin, it was only natural for him to resort to underhanded means.

It was during his brief substitute class that he taught Harry and the others about werewolf habits and how to tell a werewolf apart, hoping that one of the students would be smart enough to find out who Lupin was.

This time, however, he had an idea…

Unfortunately, Snape probably didn't realize that he already knew about Lupin's status as a werewolf and that Ivan had no intention of attacking him.
