Chapter 2

The next morning Alphinaud went downstairs to and saw the WOL sitting at a table enjoying some coffee. He could feel his heart beating faster. He walked over to her and sat down. "Good morning [Name}, " He greeted. "Good Morning, Alphinaud" she greeted back. She took another sip of coffee and he gazed at her lips, wishing he could kiss them. [Name] saw him staring at her and felt her cheeks heat up. "Alphinaud, are you ok?" she asked him. Alphinaud snapped out of his thoughts and looked away. "Alphinuand?" she questioned again while extending her arm to touch his shoulder. "Y...Yes, I am fine. I had better go check on somethings." He responded than left.  [Name] got up and followed him outside

Alphinaud went outside, even though it was snowing. He thought it best considering how hot he felt.  "Ugh, Why can't I just tell her how I feel?" he asked himself out loud unbeknownst to him that the WoL was listening.  She didn't mean to eavesdrop. She only followed him out of concern. She wondered who he was talking about. How she hoped it was her. She herself had developed feelings for the small Elezen.

Alphinaud turned around to head back inside when he saw her standing by the door. "[Name]!" he gasped. "Alphinaud my friend. You have me worried. I am here if you need to talk" she responded in a calm voice. "Did you hear what I said?" he asked her. She nodded her head in response. Alphinaud sighed. Before he could speak [Name] spoke first. "My friend, it is not my business as to whom you were speaking of, but know this. One day you will find love. You are far too cute to be alone forever." she stated in a friendly voice.

"Thank you [Name]. I appreciate that. I pray that person feels the same for me" he responded with a small smile. [Name] walked over to him and gave him a hug. As she did a small idea popped into her head. She turned her head facing his cheek and gave him a small kiss. Alphinaud froze.  [Name] backed out of the hug and looked at him, gave a smile and walked away. 

Alphinaud was frozen. He couldn't believe what she just did. Did she really just kiss his cheek? He placed his hand where her lips just were. His heart was beating so fast that he thought it was going to burst out of his chest. Meanwhile, Haurchefant walked up to the inn and saw what had transpired between the two. He has to admit to himself he was saddened for he did have feelings for the WoL, but as long as she was happy that's all that mattered to him.

Haurchefant approached Alphinaud who was still in a daze. He tapped his shoulder which brought him back. "Haurchefant, when did you arrive?" Alphinaud questioned. "I have only just arrived. Are you ok?" Alphinaud composed himself and gave him a nod. Out of nowhere [Name] appeared and waved to both of the men. "Shall we go?" Haurchefant asked. Both nodded and off they headed to Fortemps manor. 

When they arrived they were greeted by Edmont de Fortemps who told them to treat his home as their own. Edmon assures you that your current reputation does not concern him. After a little small talk, Edmont gives you paperwork identifying you as a ward of the House of Fortemps. You end up going back outside and a passerby jeers at Alphinaud, challenging him to visit the Forgotten Knight, a local tavern,  if he wishes to see hoe the "better half" live. Of course, his interest is piqued, so he accepts the man's invitation, hoping to learn something about recent events. Upon arriving conversations are engaged and Alphinaud asks you to lend them a helping hand with each of their duties. You, of course, accept for how can you say no?
