I Want You

"Why did you marry me?" Lucas clenched his jaw and became stiff with her sudden question.

"..." He averted his eyes and remained silent as he was trying to avoid answering her question.

"You promised me you would explain everything today!" Lucas drew in a breath and let it out softly preparing himself.

"It's all for convenience...I can't inherit and take over the company unless I'm married and my grandfather pressured me to find a wife by the end of the year"

For the company again? Why are men so obsessed with their company that they are willing to sacrifice others? What's with all their company that's messing with my life? Fuck them all in the ass!

"Then why me? God! There are about millions of women out there, more beautiful, sophisticated, and rumor-less than me. Why did you pick the unfortunate me to suffer?"

She couldn't make out reasons why Lucas decided to marry her. She was rebellious, not the pristine and proper type of woman every man would adore. She prefers boyish-clothes than sexy and cute ones which she heard was a turn-off for men. She was average-looking compared to this man who can be blinding with his godly looks.

Lucas was like a perfect statue sculpted for Earthlings to feast their eyes on while she's just that abstract painting on a wall where you need to think twice if it's good or not.

To summarize it all, they don't fit with each other. They're like magnets….with the same polarity that just repels each other.

So Damn it all, why was she the one chosen to endure the agony of marriage out of millions of women here on Earth?

"I just thought it was a perfect opportunity. The elders would always set me up and force me to marry sophisticated and refined women but I don't want to follow their wishes and then I found you"

That was a compliment, right? But why does it sound so offensive?

"Really?" She uttered with a blank look on her face indicating she was displeased.

"That's exactly the reason why I chose you. You were different from all the women I've met. You're unruly and defiant which is against what the elders want and coincidentally your family was in need. So it's like hitting two birds with one stone" she furrowed her eyebrows as her gut was telling her that there's something more. Lucas was trying to hide something.

"So basically I'm your meat shield and an indication that you won't just obey them?"

Lucas pursed his lips and Beatrice knew what she said was right but still why would the heavens punish her too much to toss her into this problem.

"I heard from my mother that I'm able to divorce you after three years. Is that true?" Lucas glanced at her with the same strange glint in his eyes that she would sometimes notice. She couldn't really tell what it was but one thing's for sure, it brings bad news.

"Yes, you can but that doesn't mean I'll just sign the papers that easily" Beatrice rose up from her seat, anger emanating all over her body. Her nostrils were flared and her fists were clenched on the table. She felt her blood quicken it's pace and reached the top of her head.

"What do you mean by you won't sign the divorce papers?!" Her voice was thick with wrath as she yells at him in a fit of rage.

"I won't lose anything if you continue to be my wife and you are convenient for this

job, Beatrice Chastain...Landcaster"

Her face morphed to an ugly one and she was sure she looked like a demon right now but Lucas was not fazed at all.

"But I thought I'm able to divorce you!"

"Yes, you can file a divorce after three years, but the final decision is all up to me." Lucas gave her a business smile and she badly wanted to punch him in the gut right now and erase that smile on his face.

"That doesn't make sense?! I could divorce you but the decision is all up to you?! That's fucked up!"

Lucas sighed as he heard Beatrice curse and it was unpleasant to hear his wife cursing at him.

"Don't curse, Wife. And it all makes sense, I have the money and power to stop the divorce."

Beatrice couldn't believe what he just said, she married Lucas holding on to the hope that she would someday file a divorce and be free again. She agreed to be married because she believed that she would only endure everything after three years. But now it was all crushed.

"You lying arsehole! Shittard! Fucking Ducking Bastard! Oompa Loompa Jackass! Fuckhole!"

Beatrice was panting like she just ran a three-kilometer marathon. She cursed at him endlessly on her mind and thought of ways to secretly ship Lucas to another planet.

"Wife, you should really fix that cursing habit of yours," Lucas told her nonchalantly and she could imagine putting him in a sealed box and launching him to Mars.

"Aaargh! Don't call me wife! Fucking Dickhead!"

She couldn't believe she was scammed by her parents and this lying vermin in front of her. She couldn't take in that there's a possibility that she would be tied to this demon and lose her freedom once and for all.

She brought her hands to her face covering them as if she was sorting out ways to escape this dilemma but her state of mind was in chaos and she couldn't think properly.

"What should I do to make you sign it?" She uttered in a low voice that Lucas was not able to hear it. Her face was still covered with her hands and Lucas couldn't see the expression that Beatrice was making.

"What?" Lucas asked as he was not able to grasp what Beatrice just mumbled.

"I said what should I do to make you sign it?!" She yelled with a hint of frustration in her voice and she was able to look at him clearly in the eye.

"Hmmm...there's nothing you could do unless you force me to willingly sign it."

She was dumbfounded and she was certain she could see herself as a strangler in the near future.

"What the fuck, Lucas?! I am serious here!"

"I am also serious, wife"

What? Is he really serious about this facade? Is he really serious about not letting me go?

Her mind and thoughts were all in disarray as she tried to cope up with everything that just happened.

"But we don't know, maybe in the future, I'll get you to sign the divorce papers willingly" she tried to hide her frustrations and anger with a fake smile but her lips trembled as she tried to curl it up.

"Try all you want but your efforts would be futile wife since I've decided to keep you for myself" Beatrice widened her eyes with shock hearing him being possessive but she shrugged it all off.

Her anger was replaced with determination as she would never go down without a fight. She had vowed that she would reclaim her freedom once again and be freed from Lucas.

"Let's just see, future ex-husband if you can withstand me. I'm not known as 'The Mad Woman' for nothing. '' she gave a sinister smile knowing she would do anything to be free.

Lucas smirked as he looked at her with determination etched across her face.

"Why are you doing this to me?" Beatrice asked with countless thoughts running in her mind.

She has no inkling as to why Lucas was doing this to her. She never knew him before their marriage and she absolutely didn't do anything wrong to him. Their family may be wealthy but they're declining and they do not have much power for Lucas to target her.

So why? Why was he doing this to her? Why is he snatching her freedom from her?

"Why? I'm doing this because…. I want you, Beatrice."
