Trap

Eric walked into the elevator and returned to his office, but pictures of the woman he saw kept flashing through his mind. He was distracted for quite some time.

When he managed to push the thought of Emily to the back of his mind. He picked up his intercom and called his assistant. For Days the media has talked about the collaboration between the two companies. ABM asked for cooperation when Stem announced the making of their new design. Although their announcement was made to get a lot of attention, ABM decided to use it to get them into some difficult positions.

The news of the collaboration of the companies caused the stock of Stem to rise. So releasing the report about the cancellation of the partnership will drive their stock to fall, especially since they were going to make it sound as if the Stem project was unreliable.

They had made plans today; if collaboration pulled through, then ABM would have looked for a way to swallow Stem during the period they worked together, and since it did not, Eric wanted to put them into a difficult position.

"Prepare the news," he said as soon as his assistant picked up the call, and he ended the call without waiting for his assistant to reply.

Ten minutes later, his assistant pulled the door open without knocking. Eric frowns his brows, but he does not bother scolding him since he sees the anxiety on his face.

His assistant got to the table, and without a word, he handed over the tablet in his hands.

He tightens his fist when he sees the pictures of Emily with the CEO of Sky group.

It was less than an hour since she left their building. How was it possible that she had already contacted the Sky group. Unless the photo was faked and this was just some baseless stories, or she already saw through their plan and prepared a counterattack.

Sky group was powerful, and like Stem, they were only into technology and their products are trusted worldwide.

But if Stem had insisted on working with Sky group, then they would have made Stem look like a company that looks down on their country and would instead do business with outsiders.

This would have attracted a lot of criticism from the general public in the country, and the company may even fold up since it was yet have tied with the international market. Once all local patronize stop their purchase, the company is as good as dead. After all, at the moment, Stem was just like every technology company in the country.

Who would have thought that Stem would use it against them today? The article sounded so righteous. Calling Sky group their prince charming, who saves them after their standards were not good enough for ABM.

On the surface, it looks like they were praising the high standards of the ABM group, but in reality, they were calling them blind. How can a project good enough for Sky group collaboration be below average? Even if AMB was said to be on the same level as Sky group regarding technology advancement, many people would trust Sky group more in the international market.

Erice took his eyes off the phone, "Is this picture real?" he asked his assistant. He was furious, and his assistant had broken into cold sweat, watching his ruthless boss angry.

He knew that once his boss gets this piss off, he sometimes loses rationality and will vent it on someone.

"Yes, sir, everything is real. Last week before coming back to the country, miss White visited Sky group. According to my sources, she told them she needed to discourse with her board members before getting back to them." his assistant replied.

"Why are you just telling me this now?" he barked at his assistant. If he had known about this, he would never cancel the collaboration.

"Sorry, sir, but the meeting was confidential, and I was not aware of it. However, as soon as I read the article, I checked with my contact in the Sky group. He was aware of the meeting, but he never knew the lady was the CEO of Stem; no one knew the CEO of Stem until the article was released."

" I guess she saw the trap we set for them to ensure they work with us. But once we were the ones that cancelled the collaboration, they were free from our trap."

" It is fortunate that we are yet to release our statement before this. we might have labelled bullies." His assistant explained. Although the company may not be heavily affected since its headquarters was in this country, it was best to avoid trouble.

Eric hated this outcome, but he was happy that things were not out of control yet. They were still thinking of a possible solution when a new video popped online. Emily was having a life press conference.

When Eric saw this, he immediately knew that the girl had some plans off her sleeve. Maybe he should not have underestimated her. At least he should have put her capable subordinates into consideration.

At this point, Eric was still blinded by the fact that Emily was just some rich kid, especially since she was female, and there was nothing she could do if someone like Gabriel was pulled away from her. After all, it was known that Gabriel had been the one managing the family assent even when her parents were still alive.

So it was not wrong for Eric to think this way and look down on her.
