7. THE MEETING, AND THE PRACTICE.

Sarah's parents called her on the same day she went to choose her dress for the wedding. They asked Sarah and Eric to go there, where her parents were living. Eric accepted this and Sarah wanted to talk to her mother.

"You don't look good," said Eric, worried.

"I-it's nothing. I'm just meeting my parents after a long time, that's it," said Sarah.

"I see."

"Hmm."

Now, they reached their home, and Sarah started to feel uncomfortable. Her parents greeted Eric and asked them to come in. Sarah's mom pulled her away from Eric and her father, saying they had to share many things. Yes, they had to. Some happy and some bitter.

"How have you been, Sarah?"

"I was alright and fine," said Sarah looking away from her mom.

"I'm sorry, my baby, It was all your father's decision dear," said her mother, apologizing to her.

Tears rushed into Sarah's eyes, as her mother pleaded with her, not to take this to heart. She hugged her mother crying and said,

"It's okay, mom. After all, I liked him way back 5 years," she said smiling with tears.

"You liked him? And is it because of him, that you didn't date or meet anyone out?" her mother asked out of surprise.

"Yes," she said to her mother giving a small chuckle at her.

"I think it's time to make up things with your father. Don't you feel the same, child?"

"Hmm."

"Let's go, he will be in his study with Eric," said Sarah's mother.

They crossed their arms with each other, like they always did when they were together, and walked through the hallway, dancing on foot. It was always fun when Sarah was with her mother, no worries, no crying. She always felt protected when she was with her mother. And, Eric was watching them from a distance, as he came out from her father's study, searching for Sarah. His lips gave out a small smile, letting his dimples be shown. It was such a beautiful sight for him. He never saw Sarah this happy, he understood that Sarah's mother has been a good person to her.

...............

"D-dad?" she called out for her father, entering his study.

"Yes?"

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to leave from home," Sarah said, trembling. She was such an obedient child who always respected her elders, though she was a bit ill-tempered.

"I know you will be, now, raise up your head," said her father in a soft tone.

And Sarah raised up her head to her father. He was having a smile on his face. She didn't understand this tone of his.

"Don't worry child, you've learned to stand on your own feet, without any support from me or your mother. I always loved you, I never missed thinking about you," said her father smiling. She hugged him, and her father whispered to her, "He looks handsome,"

Those words made her flustered. Of course, she would be! And her mother smiled at her heart looking at those two, her husband and her child that made up with each other's misunderstandings.

Eric and Sarah left her mother's house at dawn, and spoke to each other in the car for hours, till they reached her apartment.

"It was good to know more about you," said Sarah.

"Yes, about you too. Tomorrow is the day. I hope you're not nervous or afraid," said Eric.

"Well, I am. A little bit,"

"Then, we can practice here now," he said.

"Practice what?"

"You know it," he said.

"Okay, we will," said Sarah.

Now, they practiced how they had to act and talk to their guests at their wedding. They had done all of it but felt stuffy when it came to the kiss. He bent down his head to the left side of her face making it look like he was kissing her. She blushed at his sudden movement going close into her face, and she shut her eyes closed.

"We can do it like this," he said, backing away himself from her face. He felt her scent. It was like that of hyacinths. He turned his face away from her, feeling shy.

"O-okay, " she said at his words, stuttering.

"All the best for tomorrow's day," he said to her, letting her go inside her apartment.

Here's Lucy, who was witnessing all of this from far through the window from her room. She saw all of it, understood what they were doing. She never thought the kiss was real because she knew at first sight that Eric was not prepared for this.

And when he reached his home, he threw himself on the bed and her scent was reminiscing him of what he had done. And he knew that he was not gonna have some sleep tonight and Sarah did too.
