13 Chapter 13 I'll run to you

In the evening, Tang Ning walked with little Huan as they looked for the house keeper until they were told that he was at the back of the house. They found him watering the flowers and on seeing them, he stopped.

"Good evening Mr Zhou," she greeted him.

"Good evening. How is the little miss doing?" he asked looking at Huan. Tang Ning petted her head and replied," She's doing fine." "That is great. So how may I help you?" he asked.

"Ah I wanted to ask about the piano that's at the other side of the house." "Yes. What about it?" "I would like to know if it's not allowed to be touched," she said. "Why ask? You want to play?" "I would love to," she replied.

"I don't think the young master would mind it because he has never given an order of not touching it," he said. "You mean I can play?" she asked. "Go ahead," he answered and she became excited. "Thank you. We shall let you do your work," she said before tugging the little one's hand and they left.

"Are you going to play now?" asked Huan as they headed back inside the house. "No little Huan. I will play some other day," she replied. She didn't want to play when her boss is home. "Tomorrow then when we get back from school?" she asked. "Alright then," she replied.

The next day in the evening, the twins pleaded with Tang Ning to play for them and she agreed. Taking a seat in front of the grand piano, she pressed random keys to check if it was in perfect condition.

She realized that the twins would get bored if she just played and she decided that she was going to sing along. Thinking of what to sing, she ended up deciding to sing run to you by Lea Michele, one of her favorites.

Pressing the keys and coming up with a beautiful music piece, she started to sing,

The city Sky's feeling dark tonight

We're back to back with our heads down

Just look at me, give me more tonight

Just give me more of your love now

Let's set fire to the lonely night

You're beautiful when you look at me

Let's give love another life

Cause you'll be safe in these arms of mine

Just call my name on the edge of the night

And I'll run to you, I'll run to you

I would run to you, if you want me to

Just give me some kind of reason

I will take the pain, take it all away

Give it some kind of meaning

Let's let go, let it be the start

You know I'm feeling the same thing

Let's let go of our broken hearts

Cause you'll be safe in these arms of mine

Just call my name on the edge of the night

And I'll run to you, I'll run to you

Even if it's gonna break me, love

Gonna make my way to you

Anyway it's gonna take me love

I run to you, I run to you

Run, Run

"Uncle Jin!" Tang Ning who had closed her eyes, immersed in the singing opened them the instant she heard little Huan and she turned to look at her boss who was standing there. He was not alone though. He was standing with another man besides him and she couldn't help but feel embarrassed. Both the twins ran to the man and Tang Ning stood up feeling awkward. What was he doing here this early? She could see that he was looking at her and she wondered if he was upset that she was playing the piano.

Seeing the twins attention on the visitor, she walked to her boss and bowed her head before saying," Welcome back Mr Jing Yue."

When he nodded, she perceived it otherwise and she said," I asked Mr Zhou and he gave me permission to play. I'm so sorry if I crossed the line." "You didn't have to stop playing. We were enjoying the music. Isn't it so Jing Yue?" asked the visitor and Tang Ning turned to look at him before bowing her head and she said," You are most welcome sir. I am Tang Ning, the new nanny for the twins."

He offered a small smile and said," Jin Liwei."

She nodded her head and smiled awkwardly before saying," Uh, please excuse me."

She ran away from the place and went to her room.

...

"She's a great singer. I'm sure if my wife hears her singing, she will fall in love with her," spoke Jin Liwei when Tang Ning left.

"Yes. She sings well," replied Jing Yue nonchalantly.

"Uncle Jin! Why didn't you bring Meiling?" asked Juan. Meiling was Jin Liwei's second and youngest two year old daughter. "Meiling was not feeling well and she couldn't come. But don't worry, your aunt FeiFei is planning something for you very soon," he replied. "Uncle Jin, why has aunt FeiFei taken so long without coming to see us?" complained little Huan, pouting her lips. "Your aunt has been very busy lately and she apologises for it. But very soon, she will be coming to see you," he let them know.

Jing Yue squatted in front of the twins and said," Since your uncle is here, let's play a game." "Which game?" asked Juan. "Soccer," replied Jin Liwei. "But Aunt Fang told me that girls don't play soccer," said little Huan. "Are you chickening right now?" Juan challenged his sister. "Of course not. I'm with Uncle Jin!" she said.

"And I'm with Daddy," replied Juan.

"Alright then. Let's head to the backyard," said Jing Yue and little Huan first ran to her nanny's room.

"Aunt Tang Ning, come and play soccer with us," she said. "You're going to play soccer? With who?" "With Daddy and uncle Jin," she replied. "I'm sorry little Huan but I won't be able," she replied.

"Why? You fear my uncle? He is a nice person," she said. "I'm just not feeling well. Just score more wins for me, okay?" she said and the little one nodded.

"Alright. I will go, bye," she said before running out of her room.
