Chapter 5 Nanny

Demitri and Angelo kept their gaze on each other, while Jen looked at them confused.

"Do you know each other?" Jen broke the silence.

The two men looked at her and their faces remained stoic.

"Buenavista Corporation is a well-known company in this country. And their family was always on tv." Demitri explained.

Jen raised her brows like she was convinced of what her father had said. "Oh, right." Her gaze turned to Angelo. "How about you? How'd you know that my father's name was Demitri? And that he's my father?" she asked.

"In your CV. I saw your father's name in your CV as your emergency contact. And you texted me earlier, informing me, that you are with your father." Angelo explained.

Jen mouthed an 'oh' as she got convinced of what Angelo had explained. Jen remembered that she informed her boss ahead of time.

"Can we talk, Mr. Buenavista?" Demitri asked, which interrupted Jen and Angelo's conversation. Demitri signaled her daughter to order food for them at the counter.

"But dad, I don't have money here with me." She whispered, but Angelo heard it, so he took out his wallet and gave her his card.

"You can use this. Order food that you like." Angelo said.

Jen glanced at her father, but Demitri did not say anything and told her to go.

Jen scratched the back of her head and pouted. 'Could have just asked a waiter to get our orders,' she snorted and walked towards the counter to order food. 'I want to listen to their conversation, but it seems like Dad won't allow me.' Jen glared sideways as if she could see them in her peripheral view.

Jen keep looking at her father and her boss, who kept on having conversations, while she was patiently waiting in her line. Finally, she got her order and went back to their table, but to her disappointment, her father and her boss were done talking.

"Dad, what did you talk about?" she whispered as soon as she sat in her seat, but her father shook his head, as he didn't want to say anything.

The breakfast went well, and Demitri went home as they separate ways. Angelo drives his car to his house. It's far from the city. His house was located on top of the hill, where you can see the beauty of the city down the hill.

Jen's mouth was agape as she was in awe at seeing the scenery. It feels like she's on top of the world. "Wow! I never thought I can only see this kind of view in dramas," she smiled, "Sir, do you know what? This is my dream house," she said, referring to the house on top of the hill.

Jen looked up at the three-story mansion in front of her. "I never thought I can live here, even if I'm just a nanny." She smiled weakly.

Jen took a deep breath and smelled the fresh air. "But we'll never know… I can buy a house like this for my parents." She smiled, but this time she said those words with full of determination.

"So, please, sir… Don't fire me right away… I need this work for my parents." She grinned.

Angelo chuckled at her remarks. "Don't worry. I won't do that." he smiled at her reassuringly.

Angelo walked forward and opened the door for her. The moment Jen entered, her eyes widened in surprise as an arrow welcomed her as it flew in her direction. Luckily, she got her reflexes, and she immediately bent her head forward to avoid the flying arrow. Jen and Angelo went in the directions where the arrow came from, and there, they saw a three-year-old kid wearing a pink tutu dress while holding a bow in her hands.

"Sofia!" Angelo's voice thundered inside the house.

It disappointed him that he saw how messy the house was, and how his daughter behaved toward the newcomer. "I'm sorry for the mess." He said apologetically to Jen.

Jen smiled. "Don't worry, I understand."

'Does it mean I will babysit that little girl? I thought it was Mr. Buenavista whom I will babysit… Wait, so this means… Mr. Buenavista is already married!' she gasped as her eyes widened at her thoughts.

'Gosh, why did I not think of it? It's ridiculous to think that I will babysit a grown-up. But what makes me wonder, is… where is his wife? The mother of his child?' Jen tilted her head sideways as she was in deep thought, and she forgot that Angelo was talking to her.

"Jen?" Angelo called her once again when he noticed that Jen was not listening to him while he was giving instructions.

"Sorry, sir… What were you saying?" She asked.

Jen noticed that the child who was trying to hit her with an arrow was already standing next to Angelo.

"As I was saying… This is my daughter, Sofia. You will take care of her from now on. And I'm sorry for her naughtiness. But Sofia is a sweet kid when you get to know her." Angelo smiled at her reassuringly.

"Consider it done, sir." Jen smiled.

She looked at the kid with a smile plastered on her face, but Sofia stuck her tongue out. She even crossed her hands on her chest and make a sour look on her face.

'This kid looks like a spoiled brat… But that won't work for me. I will turn her to be an obedient and well-mannered kid,' she thought will full of confidence.

"Hi, Sofia!" Jen greeted her with a smile and waved at her. "I'm Jen Sandoval. And I will be your nanny. It's a pleasure to meet you." Sofia made a scrutinizing look as she raised her brow.

Suddenly, she smirked and stomped Jen's feet, which made her groan in pain. Before the naughty kid ran away, afraid to get scolded by her dad.

"Ouch! That hurts." Jen winced as she holds onto her foot.

"I'm so sorry, Jen," Angelo apologetically said, as he noticed Jen was struggling to walk.

"Was she always like that, sir?" She asked.

Angelo helped Jen to sit on the couch in their living room. "No. Sofia is a sweet kid. But I don't know why she always did that to her nanny. If you get to know her, you will know how sweet she is. I hope you won't give up."

"Don't worry, sir… I won't give up on her." Jen made a promise. She even held Angelo's hand and made a pinky swear.

"By the way, sir… I hope you won't mind… When will I get to know your wife? Where is she?"
