I will do everything just to make you happy

Christopher held Kaylee's hand as he opened the door. It was a slow-motion for Kaylee, her heartbeat beating so fast. She bit her lower lip to stop from crying.

'Grandma thought I married someone and she doesn't want to bother me because she wanted me to enjoy my time even though she is seriously ill.' She thought to herself.

Right at the moment her eyes landed on an old woman sitting on the bed with a picture in her hand, she failed. She wanted to show her grandma that she was okay, but this was too much to bear; she couldn't help but cry.

All these years, all she knew was that her grandma died, and it pained her that she couldn't see her one last time. Right at this moment, her grandma is right before her eyes, alive and smiling as she looks at the picture in her hands.

Kaylee covered her mouth with her hands. Christopher's heart ached to see the woman he loved hurting like this. If he could only take away all of her pain, he would do. He hugged her.

The old woman looked at the doorway, and she saw a man hugging someone she might know. She blinked, her smile slowly fading away, when she finally realized who the woman was. She was crying while the man was trying to comfort her.

She put down the picture on her bed and was about to stand up when Kaylee saw her. She rushed over and stopped her. "You shouldn't have moved, you need to rest." She said as she held her grandma's shoulder and wiped her tears away.

The old woman looked at her and held her face. "Why are you crying."

Kaylee gulped. "I... I just miss you, grandma." She said and hugged her.

The old woman smiled. "I missed you too." She caressed her granddaughter's back and kissed her head.

When they pulled away, Liliana, Kaylee's grandma wiped her tears away. "You've gotten prettier."

Kaylee sat on the bed beside her grandma. "You too." She said as she tucked her grandma's hair behind her ears. "How are you, grandma? Are you okay now?"

Liliana smiled. "I'm fine now, thanks to you and your husband. Also, Liam is taking good care of me every time he visits me." She paused and looked at Christopher. "Are you my Kaylee's husband?" she asked.

Christopher looked at Kaylee. Kaylee smiled and nodded.

Christopher bowed his head. "Yes, I am."

Liliana patted the bed space beside Kaylee. "Come and sit."

Christopher sat beside Kaylee as Lilian held his hand. "Thank you so much for taking care of my granddaughter, I hope you're treating her well. I also want to thank you for helping me recover and for letting me see Kaylee again."

Christopher smiled and looked directly into her eyes. "I am doing this because you're important to her, and if you're important to her you're important to me too, Grandma. I will do everything just to make her happy, you don't have to worry."

The whole day, Kaylee and Christopher stayed at the hospital, Kaylee told her everything except the part that Aria and her aunt told her that she was dead.

Christopher and Kaylee decided to tell her the truth that they were not married yet. She was shocked, but Kaylee explained everything. Liliana likes Christopher; he has a manner and respect for the elder, and most of all she can see that he loves her Kaylee.

"Grandma, I'll visit you often but for now we have to leave, I also have work. I wanted to stay with you but."

"Don't worry, I can take care of myself, plus there's a nurse taking care of me."

Kaylee gave her grandma a hug and kiss on the forehead before leaving the room.

...

Christopher looked at her. "You okay?"

Kaylee looked at him with a smile on her face and wiped her tears away. "Yes, thank you." She said, hugging the man in front of him.

"I will do everything just to make you happy."
