Chapter 10: Pay Your Dues

Gunshots rung in the air. Dead bodies and blood were everywhere. A little girl sat in a corner rocking back and forth with hands over her ears. The people with no faces are There again, protecting the little girl. "Run" was the last thing she heard before everything went black. I awoke from my dreamland panting covered in sweat.

"What was that dream? Is it a nightmare? Is it a memory? Who was that girl?" I was pulled out of my thoughts by the sound of my phone ringing I unconsciously answered the phone "What?!" I yelled in an annoyed tone.

"Woah bitch, what's with the attitude?"

I sighed "Sorry Alicia, but why are you calling me so early in the morning?"

She let out a timid giggle hesitant to answer me "Actually you are on-speakerphone with me, Zoe, Nina, and Sandra. Say good morning girls."

"Good morning, Moon." I heard them yell over the phone.

I smiled "Good morning, everyone, but that still doesn't answer my question to why you called me so early in the morning."

"Okay before you go on a rampage, the girls and I are on our way to your place to hangout watch movies, eat, and then... maybe go shopping." She mumbled the last part still loud enough for me to hear.

I paused for moment taking in what she just said, "There is no way in hell I'm going shopping with you heathens... absolutely not."

"Oh, come on ever since we started working at our new jobs we don't get to hangout as much." Sandra whined.

I rolled my eyes "That sounds like a whole bunch of not my problem. It's Saturday, I am tired, plus I have to visit my father because... well you know why."

"And that's exactly why you need to get your ass up and get dressed. We all know how your father can get on this day, hanging out with you BFF's will be a total stress relief." Zoe deadpanned.

"But I would prefer-"

"Damn what you prefer! Young lady, get your ass dress we want to see our best friend and catch up on life." Zoe demanded.

"Zoe, you can't force me to..." I was interrupted again by an even more annoyed Zoe.

"DON'T YOU ZOE ME! IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR CUTE LITTLE BUTT UP THIS INSTANT, I WILL SHOVE MY FOOT SO FAR UP YOUR ASS..." I looked at my phone Jeez this woman is crazy. This is what I meant by never making her angry. What she says goes.

Sandra grabbed the phone from Zoe "Livia don't mind miss grumpy you know how she can get. Anyways if you come, we will go to your favorite restaurant, our treat."

"Fine, see you when you get here." before I hung up, I could hear the girls cheering and celebrating. Looking at the ceiling I contemplated if I really needed them in my life."

Someone Save Me

As expected, they are taking forever to shop. Like seriously how much does one really need "This why I didn't want to go shopping. You girls take forever, my feet hurt from walking around so much and I'm hungry." I complained.

"You are supposed to be relaxing Moon." Sandra said while trying on different sunglasses.

I rolled my eyes "I was relaxing just find at home, but you all forced me here."

Nina stood in front of the dressing room mirror placing different articles of clothing against her body "Don't be a buzz kill we've only been her for like ten minutes."

I scoffed "Correction we have been here for over forty minutes in the same got damn store."

Alicia gasped "There is no way we have been in the same store for that long, but there are so many other shops we haven't even begun to explore."

"Oh god just kill me now." I groaned.

Zoe held various styles of earrings against her ears "Girls which one should I get?"

They kept going back and forth about what she should get "Just get them all for god's sake!" I yelled.

She sucked her teeth "I could, but is that necessary?"

I glared at her "If you want to live to see another day it is. I am starting to lose my patience with you spawns of Satan."

"You are so mean." Alicia whined.

"Thank you anything else." I said sarcastically.

Nina fake smiled "You are also extremely annoying."

Wipes fake tears "I know that to, and this annoying girl won't hesitate to wring your neck if you keep on irritating her."

Zoe who has been quietly waiting for us by the cash register "Grab whatever you're going to get so we can get little miss savage here some food. I refuse to die on my day off."

"LET'S GO!" I yelled while clapping my hands catching the attention of other shoppers.

"Oh my gosh Livia you are so embarrassing!" Nina put her hand over my mouth.

"For what you girls put me through in such a short period of time, it was time for you to pay your dues." I laughed as the girls chased after me in annoyance and embarrassment.

Pay Up

Night life has taken over our side of the world, but rather than enjoying the busyness of the streets, the seven of us stood across the street masked up. We have to pay a conjugal visit to a man who has been stealing from us. We got to know about his deeds from other gangs. Ray was selling our weapons underprice then using the money to buy drugs. What he didn't know was he was selling and buying drugs in our territory. Those small gangs our under my jurisdiction, they report to Adrian who reports to me. He made a mistake by betraying me, now it's time for him to pay up or lose his life, whichever comes first.

"This is the plan. I want Chris and Poet to be on lookout. Poet, block the power lines I don't want any phone calls getting in or out. Jack and Cassian scan the house from top to bottom, make sure there is no one else in the house. Parker and Adrian will stay by my side just in case that little prick tries anything." Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.

I felt powerful as Parker and Adrian surrounded me like human shields, while Jack and Cassian snuck around the house and Poet and Chris posted in the shadows. The house looked decent, someone had to be maintaining it for him.

Adrian knocked on the door. There was no answer. He knocked on the door again this time a little harder. We heard shuffling behind the door, Adrian and Parker were on guard. The door opened and some rugged looking man opened the door "Who the fuck are you? And what the fuck are you doing on my property?" Adrian immediately grabbed him by the collar dragging him into the house.

Ray tried putting up a fight, but he was no match for Adrian’s strength "Get your fucking hands off of me?" He yelled.

Adrian threw him on the floor and punched him "Mind your tongue before I cut it out." he said grazing his knife across his cheek.

I examined the house looking at the filth this man decided to live in. Now I'm certain someone else has been taking care of this place. "Do you know who I am?"

He shook his head "Am I supposed to know who you are?"

So, you had the nerve to steal from me and not know who you're stealing from. Does the Crimson Clan ring a bell?" His eyes widen in fear "And lucky you, I, the Mafia King came here personally. Do you know what I hate the most Mr. Wallace? I hate when people take from me. Taking from me is like stealing food from my own mouth."

"What are you going on about?" he interrupted me. I hate being interrupted!

He winced when I angrily gripped his jaw "Don't ever interrupted me while I'm talking. Do you understand?" he vigorously nodded his head.

"You stole from me betrayed my trust. Do you take me as a joke Mr. Wallace?" I asked with a cynical glare.

He shook his vigorously "N-no sir I would never."

I scoffed at his foolish response "Where is your family? Did they leave after witnessing the type of scum you really are?" I asked picking up a picture framed displaying a very happy family, but it was something off about it I just couldn't put my finger on it.

"They died in a car crash eight years ago...except for the girl... m-y my daughter. Sadly, she was the only survivor." He said it with a hint of hatred. It sparked an interest in this daughter of his "Today is their death anniversary."

I looked closely at the photo, and I'll be damned "What's your daughter's name?" I asked wanting to confirm my theory.

Before he had the chance to answer Poet interrupted us "Boss we have company, female about 5'7 dressed in all black. She's looking around, I think we've been spotted. She's heading into the house now. Be careful I can feel her feisty aura from where I'm standing." he warned.

I wonder who the girl is, but I think I have an idea who she is "Well, Mr. Wallace seems like you may have a visitor. Adrian, bring the girl here."

Hearing that Ray suddenly got an idea "Sir your businessman, right. Let's make a deal."

I scoffed the nerve of this guy he really thinks I give a shit about what he has to say, he's already proven he can't be trusted "Okay then amuse me with your so-called deal."
