Chapter 28

Sophia stood in front of the cell her mother was locked up in. she was certain the King would do anything to get the solution to his problem and she was going to use it to her advantage for as along as she could.

Ahishar was facing the wall when Sophia entered with her friend. She hadn't even realize that her precious daughter was present with her.

"Mum" Sophia whispers.

She turns abruptly and stands immediately approaching the bars.

"Soph,why did to risk your life so?" Ahishar yells.

It had suddenly sank in that her daughter would have been killed.

"Mum"

"Don't you know that your life isn't yours anymore? The Witches are looking up to you,you can't get yourself killed"

"That's exactly why I did all this mum,for you, Talmon, myself and the rest of the Witches alive" Sophia says.

"Where you telling the truth?" Ahishar asks.

"What truth?"

"Do you know the solution to King Ramos's predicament?"

"I do Mum but that's our Ticket to freedom,tell me mum,you look worried"

"I am indeed worried,you turned out to be the Witch Queen after all" Ahishar says shaking her head slightly.

"You don't look happy,I thought you would be relieved that at least I can take care of myself and save our kind" Sophia whispers settling to the floor.

"I would if I am not your mother,I worry for you alot" Ahishar says.

Looking into her mother's sad eyes Sophia was certain there was something she wasn't telling her.

"I am going to be fine"

"You have forgotten something Soph" Ahishar says..

"what is it Mum?"

"You're the Witch Queen,you aren't allowed to live with any family member your place is in the boundary between Mayes and Gabesh, that's where the Witch Queens if before stayed" Ahishar says.

"I will visit there once in a while mum,I will be fine".

"You don't get it Soph, time is ticking quietly,soon you won't be able to stay anywhere else. It's a must. A rule. No one had broken" Ahishar adds.

"then I'll be the first, quite bothering About me and take care of yourself, I'll be back to set you free soon mummy" Sophia sobs a little.

"Take care my child"

They turn to leave when Ahishar stops them again.

"Wait" Ahishar says.

"Talmon, please defend and watch over Sophia for me,I leave her in your care after all you're second in command" She says whispering the last part .

"I will do that Ma, see you later".

Edom takes them to the outskirts of he city in secret and is quick to the palace for the final court meeting.

Once everyone arrives they all bow to King Ramos before taking their seats

"We are gathered here for the judgement and execution of three Witches" Edom says.

A member of the cabinet stands briefly.

"Please bring them here for us to see before the execution" He says.

"Am afraid that can't happen" Edom says.

"Why is that?" One could already tell the Elder was fuming with anger

What was his own problem with witches?

"I have personally done them the honor of beheading them" King Ramos says.

"What?"

There is murmurs heard in the room but no one summons the courage to confront the King.

"You all know how much I hate Witches so I decided I couldn't stand them staying alive for another minute"
