Escape

I ran as fast as I could. I could feel my legs aching and my lungs struggling to grasp some air. With my bag dangling across my back,I quickly dashed through the forest. I could hear the footsteps of my pursuers. They were gaining on me fast. Even my nerves tingled in preparation of what I was about to do.

I quickly leaped on a tree. I felt all the training I did was coming in handy. All those lonely days and tending to sore muscles really paid off. Just I was about to keep running,my brain blanked and all I felt was pain. Apparently, they had shot me. I didn't even have time to wrap it up to prevent the blood from spilling when I heard their voices. Get her, she's been hit.

Muttering to myself, I picked up the pace. I didn't know how they found my hideout. That was the fifth house they destroyed. I needed to think quick and fast cause the pain and blood loss were making me dizzy. At this rate I would end up getting caught. I spotted a cottage and and sped towards it. I quickly entered and shut the door. I fell in a heap and kept quiet until I heard their receding footsteps. I made a tour around the house and found a staircase I didn't notice earlier. Coming closer, I heard a creak and decided to take a look. Tiptoeing quietly, I gently approached the first step. I heard a sharp intake of breath and looked up.

Where did they create this creature was all I could ask my self. This was the most sinful man I had ever seen or come across. He stood rigidly at top of the staircase staring at me with a myriad of emotions. I could see confusion, shock, fear and finally anger swirling in his eyes that looked like molten magma. The golden eyes furiously peered down and asked, "How did you get in here"?. I felt my body shudder in euphoria. Unable to give a reply, I felt darkness swallow my consciousness and then I remembered I had just barged into a stranger's house.
