What was he trying to gain

"This is all your fault!" I told him an accusing glare, Now, I can't even opt in putting my make up on without worrying that we might be late and looking rude!.

"How come this is my fault?" Asked Damon like a genuinely confused, innocent baby. The nerve!

"Oh, yes... Right there... Please, don't stop... don't stop ... Do..o....o...n't.... How about another round, Love?... Who was spewing all that?" I asked before I hit his shoulder with my

"You could've stopped at any point but, you didn't!" He justified himself self-righteously.

"Whatever, just make sure we don't look too sexed up late!" I yelled at him as I came out of the shower leaving him behind.

"I can't make promises" He said teasingly with a wink my way.

"You're so infuriating!" I said stomping to the walk-in closet to choose my worthy dinner date wear.

That's when I saw my new sexy jumpsuit on the closet. Should I just go Boys-boys because, gay is still a very sore spot in my country but, a sissy who cross-dresses? Is so much worst in their eyes.

Without wasting anymore time than I already did, I settled for a formal suit quite matching with the one I prepared for Damon, who wore it with a grin on his face minutes later.

"What's with that stupid grin of yours?" I asked as I was busy styling my hair in this not so eye-catching feminine way.

"We're wearing couple outfits!" He said with so much excitement that I hoped to have.

Yes, I was worried. All pins and needles in my stomach. His cycle knowing that he was gay and get to see the man beside him as a date? I wasn't see the night from his eyes.

But, I was definitely going to go there for my love for first edition Jewell's!.

So, dissatisfied world? I'm coming at you!.

"And that's enough to make you happy?" I asked getting up from my dressing table to come and fix his outfit for him.

I like it when I do these little things for him and he appreciates me for them.

"It won't take me more effort to stake my claim once we are there, Love" He said softly with so much emotions before he bent his head and kissed me on the lips lightly.

"What an idiot!" I said pushing his gigantic self away from me. We wouldn't have end with just us kissing if I let him, kiss me for a second longer. Trust me.

"That you love..." He said with a deep voice, the kind he only uses when he's in lust mode sending ripples of tremors through my body.

"That, I love indeed" I said breathing him in.

I loved this about us. This hot and cold, tug war that we have going on in our relationship.

I don't know how to interact with people in any kind of way other than this and finding someone who matches my vibes? I was just grateful.

We arrived at the venue like an hour late from their decided time and did I say that the event was done at powerz bar?. Yeah, a small world indeed!.

Classic lady coincidence.

"Mr and Mrs_"

We heard someone greet us just as we made it out of our car with Harry and his people looking fiercely as usual beside us.

"Mr and Mr Emule, welcome inside, I'll be your guider to your designated room" He corrected himself when he saw us both men IN formal suits.

"Thank you Mr...?" Thanked Damon before trailing off to catch the young guys name.

"Preston?" Answered the guy in puzzlement. Seems like it's never a norm for a guest to learn the worker's name there perhaps.

"Well, nice to meet you Mr Preston. Please, lead the way for us" Said Damon gentlemanly. Did I ever say that I love the guy?.

"That was quite an awkward introduction" I whispered to him, amused.

"If you could come up with how we should be addressed as, sooner, this wouldn't have happened" He retorted in a whisper teasingly with a light chuckle.

"I was busy contemplating untill just a minute ago" I justified myself before feigning that my feelings were hurt by his comment.

"Yeah and here we are" He said dryly.

"This is it, Sirs. If you'll both excuse me and have the night of your life!" The young guy said with a polite smile on his face.

I didn't know why but, I could feel his pride in us. Was he gay, bi or just a fan?. No way to know.

"Thank you, Mr Preston and I hope yours will be more fun than ours in that cooped up place" Said Damon with a warm smile giving him a tip for his assistance.

"Do you know that my ex-friends are in this bar somewhere?" I said as we made our way inside what was said to be a 'private room' rather than a hall.

"They are shareholders too?" Asked Damon curiously.

"I don't know silly but, they invited me to join them in this same bar" I replied faking a smile just when I saw some people raising their glasses at Damon.

"Well, I can't say I'm surprised, this place is quite great... How about you loosen up and enjoy my boring life tonight?" Suggested Damon, handing me a glass of wine with his seducing smirk.

"You don't even need to ask me twice" I said downing the rest of the wine from the glass. Bad idea. But, good thing that I was still holding on to my sanity.

It wasn't a 'dinner date' as he phrased it earlier. It was more of a... party for the rich mostly. All those drinks, the stage, design slide shows, mingling here and there and I almost relaxed in there but, no. Somebody had to butt their nose in our business.

"President Emule! Looks like you finally made it! Found anything worth your time here?" An over friendly guy questioned when he saw us, walking around to get a closer look at the design and getting to learn the idea behind it.

"I'm not really a fan of Jewell's, You need to ask my lovely sugar rush over here, that question" He said simply pushing my waist to move forward so, we could engage more on sparkling objects. I was home.

That was after us missing the runway and the pieces were already layed on the black neck dolls.

"Any problem with that?" I asked him when I saw the change in his expression. He was disgusted and angry.

"Uh... uh... of course not" He said placing a fake smile to his lips once more.

"I'm sorry. I guess, I was just shocked to see real life gay couples were also in here" Said the man loud enough for people around us to hear him and I had to smile at that.

"Gay?" One woman said behind me with shock and disgust.

"And the board just let them in? What is this? A pride party?" Questioned another on the absurdity of the idea.

"Who's gay?" Asked some guy to my left looking past us like he was itching to drive those homos away by fists if necessary.

"Love, are you okay?" Asked Damon calmly but, I could tell that he was afraid. If it was of them or if the fear was solely for me, was a mystery on my part.

"Yeah, just amused mostly" I told him with a chuckle, turning my attention to the pretentious guy in front of us

"I'm sorry sirs for my lack of discretion_" He said like he was insinuating something.

"You don't have to apologize because, you're fired" Damon said coldly, cutting all the whispers and murmurs around us.

"What? Fired just for pointing out that he was gay?" One lady said, dissapointed.

"Shameless!" Some girl commented looking straight at us boldly. I liked her.

"Who's gay?!" Asked the same guy once again. Didn't he see us or was he already drunk?.

"I'm sorry, President Emule. It was a mistake on my part" He went with his insincere apology gaining pity from the crowd.

"No, it wasn't and honestly, I don't care. You. Are. Fired. Get the hell out of here. Where are securities?" Demanded Damon, looking across the room.

"What's going on over here?" Asked some panting stranger who seemed like he ran to be there.

"One of your boys here is being disrespectful to my husband!" Said Damon nonchalantly with a blank face.

"Oh... This must be your husband, I presume?" Questioned the stranger with a friendly attitude.

"Precisely" Replied Damon, holding my waist tighter to him.

"Anderson Sybil, nice to meet you" I said with my right hand stretched out for a handshake.

"Peter Greens, it's an honor" Said the stranger flashing me his dimpled smile.

"I'm sorry for this inconvenience old friend. I hope this doesn't ruin your mood for some fun tonight"

"This is a fault an your part, bringing in people without going for a through check. I'm starting to reconsider sponsoring this partnership between us, Peter. Because_"

"Honey, leave the serious talk for another day... accompany me in my selection of my new pieces, please?" I pleaded sweetly making him give in with a groan and hearing a sigh of relief from Mr Green.

I guess Damon reconsidering is so not needed at the table at the moment.

"Now, that, that's out of the way, please enjoy the party with me as your personal pointer. How does that sound" Volunteered Mr Green who seemed like a respectable man himself.

"Degrading much, I think we can look around by ourselves at this point, Right sweets?" I declined his offer politely.

"Anything for you, Love" He said pinching my chin adoringly. It was like in all that sea of people he only had eyes for me.

But, something kept me thoughtful. The night was for shareholders so how come, it was full of people when Damon owns up to fifty percent of their company?.

Business was never my strong suit.

"Thanks for the offer though" I told Mr Green before walking past him and went on with our tour all unaffected.

And just like that we became the most eye-catching couple in the whole room and it wasn't even in a good way. I could tell people were judging us in every worst way.

Whatever plan that pointer had, it seemed successful but, who cared?.

At that moment, I understood why my father used to say that 'If you're confident enough in yourself then, you're the bravest one of us all'.

"Are you okay?" I asked Damon, when we finally sat back down waiting for our food to be served.

"I don't want to be here" He said calmly eyes on the displays of the magnificent pieces left after I had three wrapped up and sent home.

"Oh, come on! I really look forward to be dancing with you when the light dims a little" I said as I moved closer to him, rubbing his legs with my socked feet.

"And then?" Questioned Damon who had a catch in his breath.

"Some cocktails our way" I said as I took two glasses of cocktails that was being passed by a server placing them before us.

"And then?"

"And then... I'm sure I'll do something that I'll regret in the morning" I said with a laugh breaking the moment we just had.

"I'm sorry about that incidence earlier" He said at last in a whisper, all apologetic and all.

"He's just a person fighting for what he believes in, I guess I could relate" I told him with a shrug.

"Are you pitying him?" Asked Damon, looking at me with so much anger in his system.

"No. Pity is a very strong word. I'm just sympathizing with him. Don't just fire people for their beliefs, it paints you in a bad light" I told him softly.

It wasn't for that guy's sake but, Damon's. Once you use your power to take your revenge on people like that guy? It makes you no different from them.

It's hard, yes. But, is it impossible to show love where you received none?.

"He was being absurd and rude to you!... Like, 'discretion'? when did we even tell him that we wanted to hide? We aren't even ashamed of ourselves who the hell is he to shame us in public?" Damon said angrily but he was pretty calm to the rest of the world.

"Drink this, you badly needs it" I said handing him, his glass of cocktail before I held his left hand in mine on the table, Naturally with a pat on his back.

"So, what'll happen to this company's stock if this all goes out tomorrow?" I asked after he put down his glass champagne gracefully.

"That's what I'm trying to understand here because, no matter what, nothing's gonna change and even if they want to break it off with me they can't, unless I decide to... And when that day comes, Sparkles would be nothing if only the legends. What was he trying to gain from all that?" Asked Damon, clearly troubled.
