Was yelling to us a necessity?

I was already aware that it was going to be a hard day before me, maybe even the several days ahead till the bomb neutralize and everything returns to normal but, I wasn't anticipating for them to go to that extent!.

I was an over the top person and I wouldn't go that far for sure.

Funny thing was that nobody even knew that I existed there before except for my department and few managers but, that was only due to my manager's big talks yet, when I walked out of the car felt like the world stopped for a second before their eyes were glued to me. To my every move.

I was suddenly a celebrity.

I was like a tourist attraction from the parking lot to the office and me coming in with bodyguards didn't help in the least with my attention attracting scene.

I was always in love with the spotlight so, it wasn't a hassle on my part. They only fueled my ego somehow. Getting all eyes on you is an art many people got no talent for, which I effortlessly seem to be born with. Please, do excuse my shamelessness.

So, the whole situation was like a breeze for me but, what almost knocked me down on my gay butt was all the decorations I saw in my chair and table. My beautiful small working space!.

Did I really need all the LGBTQ+ flags, posters and souvenirs on my office table?.

Looking at the situation before me for sometime and the at my 'team members' who were all busy in their desktop before it somehow gave me some sense to grow up a little like I really should be the matured one there at least.

So, there I was walking inside my office, chin up, diva style, walking past all of them snake humans with my casual usual greetings till I reached my table.

"Actually.., I hate purple, not really my color. Next time, make sure there's a ting of black in whatever shit you wish to paint on my desk" I said to no one in particular while sitting down to my obviously decorated chair with all the purple in the world.

"It was me...!" Said Frankie, hand raised meekly, looking at me hesitantly.

"And should I know why?" I asked her before pinning her with my most calm before the storm stare.

"To show you that I care ...and that I overreacted yesterday" She explained expectantly looking back at me with her own sincere smile and I was like 'Am I supposed to get touched by that?'.

"Thank you but, all this was unnecessary in my opinion " I said simply turning my attention on cleaning up her mess. And was it really!.

"I really am sorry for what I did yesterday" She apologized again making my anger rise a notch.

"It wasn't your fault! Now can I go on with my business? Please?" I asked her irritatedly making her nod gently with an aggrieved face.

"Why are you so unbearable? I mean, be grateful she even decided to apologize to you for doing literally nothing!" Stephanie scolded me after hitting her table with something she was holding in anger. I couldn't be bothered with her.

"Frankie you're too pure for that hell goer, really" Said Hans smirking my way with a dirty look in his eyes.

"Thank God because, hell isn't a place for judgemental assholes like you" I told him sarcastically rolling my eyes before my phone chimed indicating working hours starting.

"Now I know why that boy always thinks that he's above everyone" Said Hans mockingly.

"Is being gay something to feel proud of?" Asked George eyeing me with disgust.

"And that's what made me feel special and shit? Listen..., being gay didn't make me special, honey. It's a mindset you'd probably understand that if you yourselves had one. I'd have been special even if I was born a snake, get it? And it's work time. Leave me working!" I told them before powering on my desktop only to find all my folders to be missing the ongoings projects.

Well, screw them a hundred times!. I was so dissapointed in them to even form thoughts. That's when I remembered the saying of 'when it rains, it pours'.

I wasn't angry, No. Not even by an inch because, I couldn't afford the heart attack or getting wrinkles on my beautiful face, all because of some immature asshole that I have for a colleague.

Good thing I always have backups of my files in the cloud so all I did was downloading them again so I could continue working on them. Silently.

I didn't have to look up to know just how much they wanted me to erupt and start a fight in there. Well, joke's on them, that was the prank that I was being pulled at since my college days so I was used to the situation.

That morning was quite hell on my schedule because I had customers coming and going almost in every hour, I even had people waiting to get an audience with me making me think of hiring an assistant to help me around with work.

Some time in the noon, I went out to the tea room because, I was tired as hell and the sleep that didn't come the night before was threatening to kill me at daytime. I was caffeine deprived.

I wasn't an eavesdropper, never was I good with gossips either but, I had to stop when I heard my name being mentioned thrice. It seemed seriously and I learned by experience that whenever you here your name in your absence, dark secrets come to light.

So there I was like a creeper I knew I wasn't, hiding behind the door hoping to God that nobody will walk in just yet.I had to hear about it.

"I'm telling you! The guy must be using dark magic! I mean look at what just happened today? All those customers..." Whistled Hans in awe.

"I'm just broken hearted that he should be all flooded with work when we are still idling around" Said Stephanie with a sigh.

"I mean it's only right for him to share, right guys?" Inquired Frankie.

"Maybe he wants being seen alone working hard" Said George

"We are really going to get fired at this rate!" Exclaimed Hans.

"God, that startled me...! Anderson?!" Exclaimed Stephanie who was the first one to get in the tea room and caught me eavesdropping behind the door with a cold coffee on my hands.

"Sorry, you're okay?" I asked blankly steadying the girl on her feet who happened to fall on me due to shock.

"The guy's is everywhere today" Mumbled George with a groan.

"That's because I'm kind of busy" I gloated before I walked away from them but, then I had to turn and gave them a piece of my mind.

I wasn't perfect but, I'd be grateful to hear my flaws once in awhile so I could improve. There's always time and space for development as my Mama used to say.

"And I'm sorry but, I couldn't help but hear what you were discussing just now" I told them politely.

"What the...?"

"For the record hard work forever pays and it's not black magic as you claimed" I said with my eyes piercing at my one and only nemesis in the department.

"And I really can't just hand in my clients to you guys and risk the company's bad reputation. You have no ethics nor professionalism don't get me started on your poor performance!" I said seriously looking at my coworkers.

"Was yelling to us a necessity?" Mortified George with a gasp like the thought itself was absurd.

"It wasn't and I'm sorry I did that" I apologized after a minute of contemplating.

"Mr Sybil...! Oh, there you are, you've got a visitor" Tori the manager's assistant came running just to call me in the managers office.

"I don't have another appointment till late this evening" I told her with my brows furrowed. It wasn't my best look, I assure you.

"Well ..., A main branch executive is here for you in the manager's office as we speak" She said with a shrug.

"Is there a problem?" Asked Hans eyeing me with what seem like pity in his eyes shocking me. But,I could be wrong, though.

"I really don't know and please, do whatever you have to do to send her out early. I can't even breathe around her with that aura..." She said accompanied with a visible tremble of her body.

"...If you guys will excuse me. I got some place to be" I said in a dismissive tone before following Tori to the office shaking from my hair to my soles.
