Chapter 9
Hunters POV
Being with Lilith last night exposed me to a different side of life. All I could see in my sleep is flashes of her smile, her laughter, and her voice. She is doing something no one was ever capable of doing, making me happy and forgetting about my pain and problems.
She brings out the best in me but she doesn't know what I am.
What if she doesn't accept me for what I am? If this goes any further I will have to tell her about my true self.
"Hey Hunter, get down here!" Aiden yells from the bottom of the stairs.
I get my things and go down."What, Aiden?"
"We going to be late. Come on let's go." Most of the time I and Aiden drive together. I get in the car and Aiden drives.
"Where did you disappear to last night man?"
"I went out with Lilith."
"Oh man, the new girl huh."
"Yeah, she's great."
"By the way, Alexia was looking for you last night." Oh yeah, Alexia another secret in my life that I have to get rid of soon, or else this relationship I'm trying to build with Lilith is going to turn into dust.
"What did she want?"
"She wanted to talk to you about something, she wouldn't say but she seemed pissed." Fuck.
I sighed and ran my hand through mine. "I'm probably going to get a mouthful when I see her."
"Yeah, so steer clear of her and her best friend." Alexia wasn't one to make a statement or make herself known. She was popular for being a cheerleader. She never got into petty arguments or fights, unlike her best friend Rachel, cheerleading captain and the most infuriating person I know.
We pull up to the school's parking and I take my bag and head inside.

Lilith's POV
My time with hunter was nothing like I expected. He was sweet, kind, and caring. He prepared a picnic just for me even if he didn't know what my answer was going to be.
I swore off boys since my last relationship but… this one feels different. I can feel my heart flutter with butterflies every time he nears or my heartbeat accelerate with his mere touch and goosebump form all over my skin.
He makes me feel special, he makes me feel alive, free and loved. I might be falling for him way too soon. I don't know maybe I'm in over my head. I would say that this feels like a schoolgirl crush but I am a school girl and I do have a crush and his name is Hunter.
"Hellooo." I hear someone snap their fingers in my ear.
"What is wrong with you the whole day you have been zoning out and smiling at nothing."
"Ohh sorry, it's nothing."
"Cut the bullshit, Lily."
"What?"
"Where did you disappear to last night?"
"Nowhere."
"Lily."
"I swear."
"Lily."
"Fine… I went home… I wasn't feeling well."
"Lily come on."
"What do you want me to say? That I went on a date with Hunter and it was amazing."
"Lily, noo!"
"But yes!"
"Tell me everything leave no detail out."
"Well…" the bell rang before I can tell Ann everything." I have to go I have biology."
"Wait...!" Ann said as I shut my locker and started walking away.
"We will talk after class, love you!" I screamed back.
The period went on as usual except this time I was lab partners with Mike.
He talked to me a bit threw some flirtatious looks and flirted with me here and there but I didn't entertain them much because my head was turned to Hunter, but… my mom did always say to never put your eggs in one basket and I sure as hell know that Hunter does not have all his eggs in one basket so why should I.
And a little fun never hurt anybody.
"So… Mike tell me a bit about yourself."
"Why does that sound like I'm in an interview?"
"Maybe you are." I never had a problem with seduction or flirting so this was easy for me. All I had to do is maintain deep eye contact and since I have natural siren eyes I did not have to make them that way. I look down at their lips once in a while enough for them to notice and not too much for them to feel uncomfortable or weirded out.
"For what? Most eligible bachelor. Cause I think I've won already." I flipped my hair and held his bicep
"Ohh yeah." I lick my lips and don't lose eye contact except for the few occasional blinks.
"Yeah." He turns his body towards me and catches on to what I'm doing and plays along.
The bell rings and I turn away from him and pack my things.
"See you later Mike."
I throw my bag over my shoulder and walk out of class.
I felt his gaze on me trailing from my legs to my ass and staying there for a while. He was attracted to me, sexually of course but that's, not the kind of connection I'm looking for.
The connection I have with Hunter is good enough. It's emotional, physical, sexual, and spiritual if that's even possible. And a little jealousy never hurt anybody, right?
Two more periods went by and it was time for lunch. I grabbed a burger and cranberry juice from the lunch line and went to sit at my usual table with Ann.
A few minutes later Hunter and Aiden came in and sat across me, Ann. It had started to become a regular thing for the past month and nobody even looks surprised anymore.
"Hey, beautiful," Aiden says to Ann.
They have been flitting with each other since I and Ann came to Aiden and Hunter's first party. But Aiden has been sleeping around with a different girl at every party so it was difficult for Ann to trust him and explore this little spark she and Aiden have. She expressed her feelings for him to me but she told me he was too much of a fuck boy to stay committed to one girl.
We talked here and there as a group until it was time for us to get back to class. And the day ended soon after.
