Ashton entered Damien' cabin after talking with Vaidehi.
He tried every way possible to know the truth but she refused to say anything. He gave up thinking it might be uncomfortable for her to share it. So now ,he thought it will be best to sort it out by talking with Damien. And in the process if he has to break jaw or two he doesn't care.He will do everything possible to bring back the smile on Vaidehi's face. He always felt a very close connection with Vaidehi, not a romantic one. He always saw his sister in Vaidehi. The same kind of vibe, bubble, chirpy and clumsy.
He gulped a lump that formed his throat at the thought of his lost sister.
This is not the right time to think about it, he thought and gathered himself before knocking Damien's cabin.
"Come in." He answered.
" Hey, are you busy?" Ashton asked as he sat in one of the chairs.
"Why are you being so formal suddenly?Are you fine? Did you and Al have a fight or something?"
"Wow , trying to act all good eh, Damien?" Ashton asked with a sarcastic smile.
"Why are you acting this way, idiot?" Damien looked at Ashton with a frown.
Aston laughed and got up before making his way to the glass widow from where one can see the panoramic view of NYC.
"You still didn' understand, did you?Ashton looked at the view in front of him. It was afternoon and the sun shone brightly and illuminating the buildings in front of him.
"Stop talking in puzzles, Ash!" Damien let out a sigh and stood next to him.
"What did you do with,Vaidehi?" His voice held a warning tone as he turned his head to look at Damien.
"What? She complained to you?" He laughed sarcastically and looked towards the view in front of him.
Ashton glared at him,"Why can't you just stay away and stop creating troubles in her life?And to clear your doubt, no, she didn't tell or even utter a word about you."
"Why do you care so much?She is just a mere employee. There shouldn't be any relation other than work, and I think you should totally stop involving yourself in her matters." Damien vice was devoid of any emotion. But if someone looks closely , they can see how hard it is for him to say these.
"You have turned into a monster, Damien! She is a human being and treat her like one. Why do you do this to her, why this mix emotions?" Ashton asked, gritting his teeth.
"Wow, why are you getting so worked up? She is just my PA and that's all. Don't tell me you have a soft corner for her? As soon as Damien said that, he heard a sound of broken glass.
As he turned , he saw Vaidehi standing near the door and pieces of broken cup near her leg. But that's not what bothered him, the look on Vaidehi's face made his heart clench painfully.
Her face held the mixed emotion of pain, disbelief and hurt. Once the face that used to radiant happiness, now looked as if it lost all it's charm. She looked at him and a lone tear escaped her eyes. Wiping it with the back of her hand she ran out of his cabin.
"YOU BUFFOON!" and before he could even react he felt a had punch on his jaw.
"You have totally lost it today! Do you have any idea about our relationship?NO! THAN ,WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT IT!" Ashton's face turned red in anger.
" She calls me her brother, you idiot! Why am I even explaining it to you?" Ashton looked at him in disappointment and anger before walking out of his cabin.
Damien staggered back and let out a shuddering breath as soon as he was left alone.He wiped his eyes and repeated to himself that he was doing it for good. This will hurt but this is the only way.
But as he looked at himself in the glass wall, a tear rolled down his cheeks.

Next few days went by with Damien ignoring Vaidehi as if she never mattered, as if their bond never mattered.
He tried every possible way to stay away and have no conversation with her.
And not just that, everytime they were in office, he never left a chance to taunt her or mock her.
Even though Ashton said to ignore and let go of his words but it was getting difficult for her day by day

Vaidehi sat alone in the cafeteria during break and was sipping her coffee, suddenly Damien came and held a file in front of face.
"You come here to work Miss Aggarwal, not to eat and have fun!"He said with a straight face and slammed the files on the table loudly.
Vaidehi jumped in fear hearing the sound.
"Sorry sir, I will keep that in mind that I am not allowed to eat even during lunch hour." She lowered her head and whispered before taking the file from his table and walking away while wiping the tears discreetly.

Entering her cabin , she sat on her chair and sighed tiredly.
This game of his is going overboard. Why can't he just say it and sort it out like the mature adult that they are?
"Vaidehi?" Ashton called her from Damien's cabin.
Vaidehi stood up and walked to him, "Yes? You want some help?"She asked with a weak smile.
"Did you eat?" He raised his eyebrow and looked at her.
Vaidehi looked down and shook her head in a no.
"Come here and eat with me." Vaidehi protested but Ashton dragged her and made her sit with him.
"What is she doing here? She has a cabin where she can eat and anyway she needs to prepare the file that we need to present for ShineIn." Damien said as he entered his cabin.
Vaidehi's eyes clouded with tears and she quickly got up and ran out of his cabin.

If e hell bend of ignoring her, she will try her best to know what's going on in that arrogant grinch's mind. She thought to herself and wiped her tears and looked out of the glass wall.
