News Spreads

A few days passed by since the school reopened. Students were asked to move into the dorms with the exception of a few of them. Ryan was one of the students who managed to get an exception. The incident with James had long been forgotten. The school gossip was now all about the new hero and villain.

The government had totally failed in an information blockade and finally, even news debates were all about the hero. Coupled with the fact that the government failed to determine the culprit or apprehend them, along with further appearances of the blue flame clad hero who helped civilians from accidents and stopped crime in low tier suburbs, the public could not stop talking about the issue.

The rise of heroes in low tier suburbs and the mismanagement of the government was in public display. discontent with the government's policies and protests against the system of hierarchical order was slowly spreading but limited to low tiered individuals. Though, it had to be noted that they vastly outnumbered higher tiered people. A small but visible rift of resentment had slowly been festering among the groups.

These days had passed by relatively peacefully at school. Ryan kept a close watch at all events going on, he had already cataloged his targets for protection. Luckily they were a group who tended to interact with each other rather frequently due to their similar status, which made it easier for him to keep track.

He had the files on their details.

[Adrian Diamante - School King - Electricity Manipulation - Elite Tier]

[Sarah Riley - School Trump - Ice Manipulation - Elite Tier]

[Lily Fly - School Editor - Lightning Speed Armament - Elite tier]

[Jordan Smith - School Mystic - Illusory Domain - Elite Tier]

[Diana Raymond - School Queen - Portal Teleportation - Elite Tier+]

[Roman Malone - School Jack - Minor Earthquake - High Tier]

[Delilah Bell - School Ace - Special Healing - Elite Tier]

Ryan sighed. These guys if well coordinated could really be a force to reckon with.

'The potential of each of them is truly remarkable. These guys may really be one of the better students from this school in several years. But they are still hatchlings.'

But suddenly Ryan observed something on the field.

"Looks like there is some disagreement going on. Let me listen in." He murmured curiously as he took out a gadget to listen in from afar.

"You High tiers are a bunch of crap!"

"You dare! How dare you break the hierarchy?"

The large circular barricade of low tier students had surrounded a group of five high tiered individuals. They weren't exactly popular. They were well-known bullies, but it appeared that the current political situation had led to a bubbling rebellion among the low tiered students who seemed to be led by a charismatic individual.

"You High tiered scums have done nothing but bully us for no reason since forever. In times of crisis, the government only supports you but doesn't actually solve jack. Today I will beat you here and now till even the hospital cannot save you!" The boy named Zeke screamed angrily.

"You, bastard! A Low tier scum who does not know his place in society is lecturing me. I will break your bones today." One of the high tiered students raged.

His speech, however, was never realized because out of nowhere Zeke beat the daylights out of him in a matter of seconds.

"Friends, let us beat the crap out of these high tiers. Today we will revenge on all high tiers!" Zeke screamed to the cheers of the increasing numbers of low tiered students. Soon they ganged up and starting beating the high tiered students to a pulp.

Ryan had already realized that the situation was going to go out of control and had already contacted Sarah to ask her to help inform the student council so they could act quickly and shut the chaos down as he too made his way.

As the beatdown took place, the members of the student council had started quickly coming in one by one. Diana was the first on the scene, followed by Lily. But soon many of them were there.

"Stop! You must not create chaos and become a mob!" Screamed Adrian in a stern voice that reverberated with authority.

However, the mob had already gone rogue due to Zeke's temptings and were now the building frustration and oppression had finally bubbled out in their chants of 'Down with Tyranny!' and they turned towards the student council members in hatred, for they had been complicit in backing such a hierarchy at the school.

Any of the council members with AOE abilities could have taken out this group, but they were reluctant to attack students in such a way. Jordan's illusion ability was perfect for this situation, but he was rarely available for these kinds of crowd control when needed, a true delinquent.

As the mob turned their rage towards the student council, three individuals suddenly speeded out of the mob straight towards the student council group like planned assassins. One towards the School Queen Diana, the other towards the healer Delilah with knives in hand and finally the last one launched at Lily, the Editor. The speed and counter took them by surprise, with the exception of Lily, who immediately countered and locked the assassin down in a bolt of lightning quick speed, but this left her no time to neutralize the other two.

Panicking she looked up to see that a person had knocked down and locked the assassin who attempted a quick one of Delilah, but the third had hit Diana. She panicked for a second but then realized that it was Diana, who calmly pulled the knife out of her body like nothing happened. It had actually entered a portal and not hit her at all, as she neutralized the final assassin.

With panic in his eyes, Adrian used his electricity and stunned the mob into submission.

"Knives?" He asked in anger. "Prepare to answer to the authorities in some time! Bunch of fools, your agitation only became a cover for an assassination attempt! When we tell you to respect hierarchy it is because there is a reason! Idiots!" He got so angry he tasered them again until they fell unconscious.
