Chapter 16 of chapter 4 The Duke woman

Narrator Pov.....

In the court room..

Everyone waited in curiosity, wandering why the suddenly meeting  summoned by the Duke. But since it was the Duke that summoned the meeting, no one dare to obliged and obedy his commands, a lot have happened a lot in the mansion. With any slight mistake from anyone, he or she would be hold responsible for their actions and would face the worst punishment of their lives! 

Lady Emily, who was having a streamy sex with Scott was interrupt by her handmaid that the Duke had summoned every lords and ladies in the mansion. The message said the Duke have someone to introduce to the court members. So, everyone presume it might be a new member coming to join them in the mansion, but this person was unknown to all except those who are closer to the Duke, 

Lady Pearl and Marcus, Knew what's going to happen but the others are clueless! Waited patiently for arrival of the Duke and this unknown person. 

Lady Emily, who didn't seem bother with whosoever the Duke wants to introduce to them, seated quietly whlie a fury gaze fixed on her from the side of the huge table, 

Gritted his teeth in anger, the guards he had instructed to watch over her, and spotted something strange about his little sister, Marcus could not believe that lady Emily was sneaking a man into her chamber but the identify of the man was unknown! He told the guards to deep more into this unknown man his sister to having affair with. He couldn't believe this little girl he had watch to grow up all these years was hiding a man from him! Isn't he hee brother? And had the right to know who his sister have finally love? Instead she stood so low to hide a man in her chamber without his consent! 

Where is the royalty and trust between them! The vow them had made to never keep a secret from each other! Yes he had hide some secret from her like the ones about the Duke but that doesn't means she had to hide a man in her chamber! Now, things are going rough in the mansion, everyone had to be careful! 

Sure he do have a stubborn sister! 

After all these, he promised to get his hands on that bastard that was having his sister at his back! That idiot will surely pay! 

Lady Emily felt a cold gaze on her and looked at the other side of the table, she spotted her brother dark eyes on her but she didn't show any signs of fear or remorse.. she smiled simply to clear the air between them, she had no clue why Marcus was glancing angrily at her certainly, she had gotten to know the secret Marcus was hiding from her all these years... She couldn't believe her brother would hide such a thing from her, no wonder he was always comes back late in the night even when they were young..

What a shame, that means Marcus never trust her to tell her the Duke secret,  even the Duke too! After their closeness with each other over all these years, them kept her in the dark, but thanks to Scott, she was able to know the darkest secrets of the Duke... 

"Marcus, you're worst than a beast! Can't believe you have been lying to me all these years!" She said inwardly, glancing at her brother with a sincere smile even though she had never wants to show that smile... She was angry that the man she had trust all these years never trust her the same way! Even though she was told about the Duke dark Life , she would never go against his him or tried to work against, why kept her in the dark, with this no trust between them, she was already to step into the lion cub without fear!

Marcus, who saw the weak smile from his sister, Played like a fool to smile back...

Whlie the others lords and ladies were mumbling on the table to know why the Duke summoned everyone.. and the unknown person, they were dying to meet. 

It was very early in the morning, the sub haven't set up yet still in it cloudy white. 

After few minutes of waiting, the Butler walked into the court room and announced

"The Duke is coming!" 

Immediately, all stands on their feets yo receive the Duke and the unknown visitor. 

Suddenly, a face of a black woman  blinks beside a tall figure, who was dressed in rich and expensive clothes walks in side to side with the Duke, their closeness to each other seem appropriate. Not only them were too close but the Duke hand were holding the black lady waist firmly. 

Them were all stunned and shock! The Duke with a black woman not just any woman, a maid! Them have once seen the Duke carried her in their presence but never examine he would take her serious, perhaps just for sex and fun! It was proper for a lord to show some few kindness to his maid, and behind that kindness, the lady would pay back with her body... Even when the Duke punished lady Elsie in their presence because of the black maid even called her his woman in the process, they thought maybe because the Duke was sleeping with her, wouldn't tolerate it for anyone to touch her since she's his mistress never in their wildest dreams 

That one day the Duke would consider the black to be his precious gem. With the confusion and agape of the court members, slient wear the whole room. Even lady Emily was shocked! She had knew the Duke fancy the black maid but never concluded he would even lead her in6this state! After all the years she had long for him, he had the right to shower his care to a commoner in everyone presence? Just like that! She remembers the days she had begged and kneel for him to have her as his woman, he had never considered her not in any way to a relationship of lovers between them. But he can show that love and care to a black stinky woman! 

She frowned, turned to her brother, his expression seen please and calm with the situation. She bet he must have been aware of all these. For sure he might have known, since he was like a shadow to the Duke...

Everyone still bewildered with the awkward situation remains silent, the court Hall became a dessert flooded with sand with no living life stock in it... The only sound that could be heard was the sounds of the Duke boot and the woman besides him. 

Isabella face seen pale, she had never expected the Duke to brings her here from all places but the man had his intentions... 

Since strange things are going, and all attempt was to take the life of the lamb standing beside her, he wants to makes it officially clear to those planning to take his woman, that their lives will paid the price if them dare to touch the strand of her hair... 

Later, all seated, looks curious and bedeviled. What have this black woman done to their lord that turned hi m to care for her! As far them have known and their years of working for the Duke, he hates black especially! 

This girl might have done something to the Duke. Some believe she must be a witch that bewitched the Duke! Some rumor has it that black are full of witches craft... Maybe that girl was one of them but no one dare to speak or say a word against the girl.. them are afraid of what the Duke reaction may be.

Food were set in massive way, everyone eat in slience since the Duke haven't say a word about the girl. 

Isabella never seen okay with the suspicious eyes glancing at her from every angle. Although she was clothed in rich and flourish clothes, that didn't makes her feel comfortable at all, in fact it increase her curiosity and fear. 

Lady Pearl, who has study the girl embarrassment, simply asked to makes her feel a bit comfortable 

 "Lady Isabella, are you okay with the meal serve for you?" A paley voice asked,  for the other side of the table. Isabella raised her head slightly, her eyes fall on lady Pearl. 

She just address her as a Lady!. Isabella seem bemused, when lady Charlotte called her milady, she didn't felt that much insecure or discomfort, lady Charlotte was unknown lady in the  mansion. She didn't find it much offended. 

Now, lady Pearl address her in the same way, makes her more insecure, felt loss with the status they are giving go her.. is he now milady? Without much thought she nodded

"Lady Isabella, a delicate lady don't nods but said the word 'yes'" the Duke said heartedly to her. She looks at him and replied

"Yes lady Pearl"  her voice was soft and warmly. Lady Pearl get satisfied with the girl question, continue her food sliently like the others. Lady Emily bit on her lower lips angrily, glaring at the girl seat at the right hand side of the Duke.  

The worst part, the Duke devour all his time to care for her, makes her to eat well by adding more food on her plate! 

Her clenched a fist angrily, whlie her eyes glanced sullenly at Isabella, her rage and fury expression could be seen, That slut!

Just when all is eating in slience, while some eyes secretly glanced at her from time..

But the question is why did the Duke bought her here ....
