Chapter 24

Seraphina’s POV

Life at the safe house is boring in the least. It’s been a few days since we came out here and Nick has been tense and quiet most of it. He’s gotten a few calls since we got here and he always takes them outside not wanting to worry me with the limited knowledge they are finding.

Thankfully the groceries were stocked up for at least a month before we got here so cooking at least isn't boring. I’ve been cooking every meal trying to keep myself busy in some way. I found a small bookcase in the dark corner of the living room with a few books. Some I would never read but a few strike my interest.

Right now I’m cooking dinner as Nick is outside on a phone call. Tonight I'm making lemon pepper chicken with some linguine noodles. While that was all cooking I started to make some delicious homemade brownies for dessert.
