Chapter 25 Humiliating Her

Of course, Selena wouldn't let Cecilia suffer such grievances on her behalf. After much consideration, she realized that this whole situation arose because of her, and she had to talk to Christopher to clear things up. However, Christopher was no longer answering her calls.

Feeling utterly helpless, she went to Christopher's company, only to be stopped by the receptionist. "Miss, may I ask what brings you here? Do you have an appointment?"

The woman who stopped Selena was not the receptionist she had seen during her last visit, but someone else. Selena recognized this woman; she had been the receptionist at Christopher's company in Chicago three years ago. Surprisingly, Christopher had brought her to Atlanta with him after all this time.

Three years ago, when she wanted to meet Christopher, she gently helped her press the elevator button. But now, she speaks to her with an indifferent tone.
