Chapter 24

A tremendous sound was heard in the direction Theo and his packs had gone into. Sending each of them flying in different directions thinking the others were following right behind.

The chief had instructed his guard to throw explosives that wouldn't kill the wolves but just made them weak and vulnerable to attack. His men had previously told him werewolves were spotted in the woods and they were attacking. He had sent fifteen of his best troops to go after them but three came back with severe wounds. One was able to speak forth, he told the chief they were outnumbered and were placed in different directions, telling the chief they needed more men or another alternative.

The chief had come prepared; he wasn't going to cower around and run away like a child. He instructed five of his men to leave explosives on every way out of the woods including whence they came. They complied and left. The explosives would only explode when kicked or stepped on.

And when he heard the explosives went off he knew he had them where he wanted them.

"Send each person with twenty men heavy armed, on each direction you hear the explosives take off. Don't forget to wear your mask." He instructed before putting on his mask.

Theo and his pack realized they had followed the wrong route to his pack's ground. They were deep in the woods and the enemies were lurking around, waiting to kill them at first fight.

Theo grunted. He was visibly frustrated. He was determined to save his packs, and take them to safe ground. He feared for his brother the more, he was the only family he had, and he didn't want him to die, he knew the blood wasn't going to sustain him for long, he would fall back ill if they don't find the arrow that had struck him.

"Let's look for a safe ground for now, We'd return back to the pack ground at midnight," he instructed. "By then they'd be long gone," he said as he removed the branch of leaves that were before him. When he doesn't hear any response from behind he turned to look behind him to find no one there.

'Where had they all gone?' he asked himself alarmed. He didn't realize moving into the place he had spotted lots of leaves in and he ended up stepping on an explosive that sent him flying mid-air in another direction.

The chief and his troops rushed down to whence they heard the sound from. Someone had tried to walk past and it exploded. He was certain it was a wolf.

They arrived at the location where they heard the sound and met nobody there.

"Search around!!." he instructed the troops as they dispersed in various directions.

The chief took out time inspecting the surroundings. Trying to find a hint of the werewolves being around. Humans didn't come this far to the forest to hunt. He was ninety-nine percent certain it was werewolves that trespasses. He bent down when he saw footprints and observed them. "They were here.." he sneered.

"Over here." a guard called out. The chief and the two troops who were behind him rushed down to whence they heard the guard calling.

He chief and the others rushed down as they cake into view view to inspect what he had found. "You!" he snickered at the man on the floor." it was the same man/ werewolf they had caught earlier on.

He had initially wanted to kill him on first sight but he thought otherwise. The remaining packs could come looking for him and they were deep in the woods which would make them vulnerable.

"Tell me where the others are and I must just make your death a simple one."

But Daniel doesn't say anything and it made the chief mad upset.

"Take him away!! And make sure he doesn't escape this time." He ordered as two guards stepped forward to carry him.

"Sir, are we still going through with the initial plan?" a guard ask

"You bet we are." he smirked before moving to where the others stood. Few of them had gone over to where Daniel was and they brought out silver chain to chain him. The chief smiles in satisfaction. "Come on boys, we have more werewolves to catch!" and with that he lead the troops as they all chanted happily.

Another group came from another angle as they approach the chief. "We found none sir, they must be in hiding. A particular route is yet to be blocked. The south east…Would you like us to block that part right away?" he questioned the chief. The chief hummed as he momentarily thinks of what to do.

"Well then, blocking that pathway won't be necessary.I'm sure they must be afraid now, and they must now think every path had been blocked after trying the ones nearby. "

"But how do we get the rest captured?" the man asked again.

"If the werewolves won't let us hunt them, then we'll make them come to us." he disclosed loud enough for everyone present to here and he indeed gained everyone's attention. "Make sure the captured wolf voice, is echoing loud enough to bring them out."

He gave his orders and them men who were holding him rushed to where Daniel was. Ready to carry out the action on him.

"Get her back." Daniel mindlinked the others admit deep breaths. They were already trying a silver chain around his wrist.

"She will help you find your way out. The only pathway with no explosive… Is the south east. Whatever you hear guys… " Daniel stuttered gathering stamina to disclose the last conversation he would ever have with them. "Don't come back for me. Theo make sure you get her away from this…" he didn't finish with his final words. His screaming didn't let him. They were using a silver knife to leave down marks on him.

His screaming soon turned to a growl when they stabbed him with a silver knife and then started tuggingit with a chain, making his skin rips apart as they dragged him along the soil.

The woods shook at his cry.
