I was still by my mom's door when I heard the blowing of the horn. I knew immediately that my pack was under attack. The door opened and mom rushed out. She stared at me in surprise. "A-are you not suppose to be on your way to your uncle's pack?"
"Why didn't you tell me about the attack?" I asked, ignoring her question
"Livia, you need to leave now. Go, I will send for you when everything returns to normal"
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not leaving, mom. I can't leave now that my pack needs me"
She frowned. "Why are you so stubborn?"
"I-i can't..."
"You should listen to your father, Olive" dad said from behind. He was already dressed for battle.
I walked closer to him. "Dad, you know I can't leave. I can fight. I'm the head of the warriors, you know "
Dad sighed and held my face. "I know, Olive. But the pack needs you as much as we want you alive"
"Dad..."
"Remember I have no male son and you will be the next alpha. Do you want to lose all these for a fight that won't last long?"
I blinked. "I can't leave you"
"I know you want to join in this fight and I wish you could but you have to be safe for us, for the pack. There are more fights for you to fight, Olive"
I nodded. I knew there was nothing I could do to make my dad change his mind. "Ok, dad. I will leave. But promise me you will stay safe. You will be alive for me"
He smiled and kissed my forehead. "I will, I promise"
I hugged him and then hugged my mom. "Bye mom"
"Bye, sweety. Go get Ella first"
I nodded. "I will"
"Follow the secret path," dad said
I nodded and ran, following the back door leading outside the packhouse. I could hear the clashing of swords. My body vibrated in anger. I wished I could get my sword and teach the invaders some lesson, but I had to listen to my father's last command, which was to stay safe. Making sure no one saw me, I followed the secret path, walking through the mountain. Being from the mountain pack, it was easier for me to get through the mountains. Soon, I got to the main road. I was lucky enough to see a car coming from a distance. I began to wave my hand. The car stopped right in front of me. The driver popped her head out and smiled seductively at me. "Where is this cute boy going to?"
I groaned. Does she see me as a boy?. I glared at her but quickly conceal it. There is no point getting angry at her for thinking that way. I was dressed in boys' clothing and my hair was cut short. "Alpha school". I tried to make my voice sound masculine as much as I can.
She chuckled. "You've got a cute voice too"
I rolled my eyes. "Will you drop me there?"
She smiled. "You're lucky I'm heading there"
"Whatever " I mumbled. She opened the door for me and I entered.
**
"Thank you for the ride" I cooed
She smiled. "It was fun having you in my car". I rolled my eyes and turn to go. "What's the name?"
"Olive as in Olivia" I yelled
"Olivia?" She asked, surprise evident in her voice
I ignored her and ran into the school. Most of the students were gone, leaving only a few around. As I walked to the class, I hoped Ella would still be in the school. "Looking for someone?" I heard someone said
I turned to see Bella. I sighed. Good, it was her. "Have you see my friend?". "I mean Ella"
She smiled. "I know. I left her in the class with Nolan"
I batted my lashes. "Nolan?"
She nodded. "You can check it out yourself"
She turned and began to walk away. "What about Nigel?"
"In the studio"
I sighed. Why is Nigel at the studio and Nolan is with Ella?. I decided to find out myself. As I walked closer to the class, I could hear gigglings. I hastened my footsteps. I popped my head into the class. Nolan sat on the desk while sat on the seat. I rolled my eyes. They were so engrossed in their talk they didn't notice me. I couldn't hear what they were saying and that increased my curiosity. I walked closer to them. "Of course I love you. You're the best" Nolan said
I batted my lashes. Just a few days after the rejection and he's already flirting with my friend?. "You rejected him remember?" My subconscious mind said. "You shouldn't be bothered with what he does with his life"
I coughed, drawing their attention. They turned. "Olive, what are you doing here?. I thought you left"
I ignored her question. "We need to leave"
She furrowed her brows. "Why?. I'm not ready to leave yet"
I groaned. How do I explain to her that our pack is under attack without Nolan knowing?. I decided to mink-link her. "The pack is under attack we need to leave for my uncle's pack"
She batted her lashes. "Are you been serious?"
I nodded. "Is everything ok?" Nolan asked
I rolled my eyes but said nothing. Ella answered instead. "Yes". She stood up. "I need to leave"
Nolan stared at me. "Are...". His phone rang and he stood up to pick it.
"We should leave" I whispered
"Aren't we suppose to help in the fight?" Ella asked in a whisper
"See you tomorrow, Ella," Nolan said and walked out of the class
I wondered who had called him and why he was suddenly leaving before us. I sighed. "Ella, let's go"
We made for the door but were stopped by someone. He was dressed in all black. From his clothes to his shoes. He wore a mask that covered just a part of his face. We froze. His face doesn't look familiar to me. "You are Olivia, right?" He asked pointing at me
I batted my lashes. He called me Olivia, not the usual Olive others call me. I blinked. Maybe he was sent by my mom. "Yes, I am" I answered. I was ready for a fight, just in case he wasn't sent by my mom and was sent by our enemy.
He smirked. "Chill, I'm not an enemy". I rolled my eyes but was not ready to back out. "I'm sent by the alpha". I furrowed my brows. The alpha?. Who goes by that name?. Every head of a pack is called alpha. He smiled. "The ruthless alpha"
I batted my lashes, while Ella flinched. She held me tightly. "Are we safe?" She whispered
I rolled my eyes and pulled away from her. "I don't know, ok?. Unless we find out" I whispered back
"He wants you to stay here and wait for him". I furrowed my brows. Why will he want me to do that?. "Why did..."
"He will be here soon". I frowned. He won't let me talk. "Go sit"
I groaned but followed his instruction anyway. We were seated for ten minutes when the ruthless alpha showed up. He didn't, someone else did. I was furious at first. "The alpha awaits you downstairs"
I wondered why he didn't come up but waited downstairs. We left the class and went to meet him. He was standing by his car. "Get in" his guard ordered
I was curious to know where we were heading to. I picked up the courage and asked, "where are we..."
"To save your pack". I batted my lashes. How did he know about my pack being under attack?. "Get in. You don't keep the alpha waiting"
I sighed and entered the car. Ella followed behind. She was scared to her bone marrow and if it wasn't for our present situation, I would have laughed so hard at her. Though I was afraid too, I tried to relax and not panic.
**
The car halted in front of our packhouse. I was marveled at how they were able to know my pack without being told. I couldn't help but wonder if the ruthless aloha had been stalking me. The guard gestured for us to step out and we did. I was startled by what I saw. About fifty men were already waiting. The ruthless alpha whispered to one of his guards. He then sat down on his car bonnet. The guard walked closer to us with two swords. "The alpha wants you two, to join in the fight"
I batted my lashes. He wants us to fight. I stared at Ella and she nodded. We took the swords from him and joined in the fight. We were deep into the fight when I sighed my mother. I stared at her. I was lost staring at her that I didn't notice someone was coming. I saw a sword been thrown at me. I was too stunned to move. Someone drew me backward and I blinked. It was the ruthless alpha who saved me. He threw the sword back to the person that had thrown it and it pierced right through his chest. I watch him fall to the ground and I sighed. "Thanks"
"You should be more careful, next time. I won't be there to save you always" he said and walked out on me.
