Benedito had fallen asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow after the party. Once again I had to change him out of his suit as he mumbled away in Portuguese. I was slightly too drunk to even try to understand what he was saying.
He barely drank the whole night but with the way he looked so exhausted that morning I knew he would not last long even with his nap during the day.
The party only finished at midnight and just like him I fell asleep once I had put on my pyjamas then called it a night. The next morning I was up before him and quickly went downstairs to make us breakfast. He had given everyone the day off, including maids and chefs. Even his dogs were staying with Pedro, who I had learned had a house of his own on the estate.
I knew why he wanted the house all to himself and it had me smiling from the moment my eyes opened.
