Chapter 12: confirmation

Some of the army marched forward and some stayed at her back leaving her in their middle and completely secured.
They walked at her pace,very fast but quite unusual for a royalty, perhaps the situation at hand was way too serious to catwalk.
They arrived.
The army stopped at the entrance of the cave,as she proceeded inside.
Nakir could not curl his body, so he lie on the steps leading to the treasure.
He noticed her.
"Genevieve". He called.
She recognized the voice. This is nakir's voice. She thought.
Nakir got up to his feet and walked to where she stood with her magnificent diamond carved crown.
"Will I ask you to introduce yourself seeing that your queen stands before you".
"Have you now forgotten my presence?" He said and turned to face her. He looked straight into her eyes.
The green light shone bright and his stroked pupil was very visible.
She was startled, her eyes wide open in shock.
"Nakir it is you". She made a deep obeisance to the protector. He also bowed his head to her, as she is the queen.
" Pardon me. I had even refused to believe the report of the army". Her eyes scanned his radiant face.
"How is it that you're human? She asked.
"Do you suppose I owe you an explanation?
"No, you do not... I'm only curious. She confessed.
"I will not give you an explanation, but know that all I did is to protect the treasures and nothing more.
"Very candid. May I ask a question?"
"Yes,you may.
"Why did you suddenly show up here?"
"Oh c'mon, don't play the fox. You know very well. He said as he walked to a stone carved chair. "Or do you not... His eyes, partly open. He watched her facial expressions.
"I do know. It's just that I really didn't think you would come with sirocco".
"Which purpose again do I have. The king is not with us anymore. This is all that is left. The heir is not crowned yet and I'm stuck in this hell until then".
"Genevieve, segund wax stronger each day. Fierce hatred and a heavy thirst for blood, their blades, ready to drink a lot. I advice you to focus more on your duties. He concluded.
"I am the queen,even the treasures concerns me". She said.
"Well,it should not. Said nakir. "Sincerely I understand you and I am amazed by how you handle things,but you need not worry about my duty. It will be carried out by me".
"So you want me to remove the army.
"Yes, please do". He said
"I certainly will.
"Do not be offended, your majesty".
He said as he stood up and walked to where she stood,rooted to the ground like a tree.
"I just needed to make some things clear.
"And neither am I trying to take on your duty. She said firmly.
He managed a smile.
"You're strong. Prepare well...And if you need help with anything let reaching out to me not be a restriction,for this I will do for the king's sake.
"My gratitude". She said.
"Farewell".
She turned to face the entrance as she walked outside.The army followed her back to the palace.
