DISCOVERY

"I've only been here once to check on you when you didn't come to school for a week last time." Hina entered the door Shiro had opened, leading into his house.

"Yeah, I remember being sick." Shiro replied, scratching his head with one hand and closing the door with the other.

Hina suddenly appeared in the kitchen. "Can I cook something?"

"Of course. Make it as much as you can, I'm really hungry." As if to testify, his stomach growled.

"If Shiro wants to eat till he's full, I'll do that." Hina replied, already setting items and ingredients needed to cook.

His real goal for asking her to make that much food was something different.

"I'm going to wash myself and get a change of clothes in my room." He replied.

"It'll be ready when you return."Hina seemed confident.

"Sure." Shiro walked up the stairs leading to his room upstairs.

"Player Stats." He ordered when he got inside.

"Got a lot of points left. Allocate five to strength and agility, three to intelligence, and two to sense and vitality." Shiro distributed his free points to raise his stats leaving thirteen points.

He opened his inventory and pulled a few items out of it. He placed it in the bag to keep some space in the inventory for what he was gonna do soon.

He had spent a few minutes inspecting the changes to his stats and body. Slowly but certainly, his body was getting chiseled.

He walked into the bathroom and filled the bathtub with warm water. He washed himself before entering the bathtub.

"Ahh. Feels good…" Shiro relaxed inside. It felt like he was on his bed but with a warm blanket around him.

Without knowing, he ended up spending over twenty minutes in the bathroom.

Knock! Knock!!

"Shiro, the food's ready." Hina informed him from inside his room.

"Shiit! I'll be out in a moment." He replied swiftly.

He rushed out of the bathtub and out of the bathroom immediately after his voice ceased.

"Uhm, Shiro, your uhmm…" Hina was stammering.

"What?" Hina's face was all red and Shiro had a bad feeling.

Hina pointed at Shiro's waist and his head moved of its own accord, in the direction she was pointing.

He saw it and it saw him. Little Shiro was out, staring at big Shiro and Hina.

He bolted into the bathroom and when he returned, a white towel was wrapped around his waist.

"Sorry about that." Shiro apologized with a red face.

"I… it's fine." Hina replied, looking awkward.

"Let's just head to the dining room." Shiro was the first to get to the door with his towel.

"Aren't you dressing up first?" She asked him.

"I can always dress later. You've seen it already so there's nothing to be ashamed of. I should be the one ashamed." He answered her while they both walked downstairs with only a towel hanging around Shiro's waist.

When they got to the table, Shiro took a wooden lunchbox and put food in it. One after the other, he added them.

"What's that for?" Hina asked him.

"I feel like I'll wake at night hungry. I'm saving this for that moment." He answered and placed the box at one corner of the table.

They ate everything on the table till there was nothing left. They tidied the table and together they did the dishes.

After they were done, Hina went ahead to take a shower and Shiro moved the box with him into his room.

He breathed deeply and then, he opened the inventory and stored the box containing food in it.

"That's done." He walked to his wardrobe and took out his nightwear.

When he finished dressing, he heard a knock on the door. It was Hina.

"Excuse me. I wa… I was wondering if we could both share the bed. I'm not so comfortable sleeping alone in another room with all that's going on." Hina explained to him as she scratched her hair.

"If that's what you want, then it's fine." Shiro agreed and fell on one side of the bed.

"Good night Hina." Shiro uttered before falling into the hands of sleep.

"Good night Shiro." She replied and fell asleep too.

*****

Early the next morning, Shiro was up.

He walked out of his room without disturbing Hina who was still asleep.

He walked to the dining table and sat at one of the chairs.

It has been over seven hours now. Food in a wooden lunch box would be cold by now and that's what Shiro wanted to find out.

He opened the inventory and pulled out the wooden lunch box. It was hot. Like he had just put it inside less than a minute ago.

"What in the world's name is this?" Shiro was dumbfounded.

He had a hunch something like this would happen but it really did.

Ding!

{Time in the inventory has come to a stop. Items placed in the inventory will forever remain like that until removed.}

A new notification popped up and the information on the panel brought about a deadly smile on Shiro's face.

He could keep things in the inventory irrespective of their expiry date. Items placed in it would remain consumable even after they've passed their expiry date.

He happily set his gas cooker on and began another pot of food that would be going into his inventory.
