Chapter 94 - What Are You Doing!?
Mahiro dropped onto the bed, gasping for breath.
After about ten minutes, he finally shook off some of the exhaustion.
This wasn't physical—his stamina was still good, and he could handle a fight no problem.
The real issue was the mental drain from forcing his way into the inner space of the Sacred Gear.
Lying there, Mahiro raised his right hand, still covered by the Boosted Gear.
"Is it just me, or does everyone have to go through this kind of bullshit to unlock Balance Breaker?" he muttered, staring at the gauntlet and letting out a relieved sigh.
The memory of those flames burning him was still fresh, making him shudder.
He never wanted to go through that shit again.
It wasn't just the burning—it was way worse.
It felt like everything inside him was being incinerated, leaving nothing behind.
The pain was fucking unbearable, and there was no escaping it.
No matter how bad it got, he stayed painfully aware.
Time dragged on forever. What was three minutes outside felt like three days and nights in there.
"It's like some kind of mental torture," Mahiro realized.
Given the hell his mind went through, anyone else would probably end up in the hospital.
He thought of Kakashi, who got stuck in Itachi's Tsukuyomi for three days and nights. When he got out, he was half-dead and needed a long hospital stay.
The fire Mahiro endured in the Sacred Gear was no less brutal, yet he bounced back fast.
Though he was still tired, he didn't feel the kind of weakness that would land him in a hospital bed. He had a feeling that with a little rest, he'd be fine.
"I've got to try this shit out," Mahiro thought, feeling both tired and excited. Despite the lingering fatigue in his mind, his body was ready to go. He couldn't wait to see what came out of all that suffering.
He stood up from the bed, holding out his right hand, revealing the Boosted Gear.
Thump, thump, thump!
His heartbeat picked up, and his blood started pumping faster.
A powerful tremor ran through the gauntlet and spread through his whole body.
The gauntlet began to glow, and as the light grew brighter, a deep voice echoed.
"Balance Breaker!"
As the voice faded, an immense power exploded out.
Mahiro's body was enveloped in light, filling the room with a powerful aura.
After a moment, the light dimmed.
Standing there was a figure over two meters tall, clad in full-body, scarlet armor that covered Mahiro completely. The armor gleamed with a cold metallic luster, exuding an intimidating presence.
"As expected, the power consumption is fucking insane," Mahiro noted, clenching his fist and feeling the overwhelming power of the Balance Breaker.
But that power came at a high cost—his stamina and magic were being sucked away at an alarming rate.
The moment the armor appeared, it was like a black hole started draining him dry.
"I can probably keep this up for about a minute, maybe a minute and a half if I push it," Mahiro estimated, gauging his energy drain and the duration of the Balance Breaker.
"In any case, I've got a new ace up my sleeve," Mahiro thought as the light faded, and the two-meter-tall armor disappeared, leaving him back in his normal form.
The Boosted Gear could send his combat power through the roof when Balance Breaker was activated.
In normal conditions, it could put him on par with an Ultimate-Class opponent.
Even if it only lasted a minute or so, that was more than enough time to finish a fight, as long as he wasn't up against someone on the same level or higher.
Ultimate-Class opponents or stronger were rare.
At least, so far, he hadn't faced any.
"Hah!" Mahiro let out a long breath, feeling the combined exhaustion from the mental torture and activating Balance Breaker.
He tidied up the room, took a quick shower, and was just about to crash.
Suddenly, a red magic circle lit up beside him.
Recognizing the familiar Gremory insignia, Mahiro's expression darkened.
"Seriously? Just dropping in unannounced like this?" Mahiro grumbled.
"Mahiro-kun," a voice called out as the light from the magic circle faded. A figure rushed out of the circle and threw herself into Mahiro's arms, hugging him tightly.
"What's wrong?" Mahiro asked, startled by the warmth and softness pressed against him. He looked down to see Rias gazing up at him with pleading eyes.
"I need you," Rias said, her voice full of desperation.
"Rias, are you seriously ambushing me at night?" Mahiro joked, but then he noticed something was off. "Wait, I think I know what this is about."
It had to be about the engagement with Riser—something had clearly pushed Rias to the edge.
"Yes, I need your help. Right now, I want to give myself to you," Rias said, her eyes filled with urgency and vulnerability. "Please don't say no."
"Hold up, it doesn't have to come to this," Mahiro said, trying to keep his cool as he felt her warmth in his arms.
"Don't you want me?" Rias asked, her voice trembling.
"It's not that, it's just that this feels a bit..." Mahiro began.
"Then there's no problem. Don't waste time," Rias interrupted, stepping back from his arms and starting to undress.
In less than three seconds, Rias stood before him in all her glory.
"Mahiro-kun, I might not have any experience, but I'll do my best to satisfy you," Rias said, blushing as she struggled to overcome her shyness.
