Chapter 151 - Kiba Yuuto
Using Balance Breaker, Mahiro's speed surpassed his previous limits, instantly crossed the distance in space, like a meteor streaking towards Kokabiel.
WHAT!!!
Accompanied by a dull crash that made the air tremble and a pained groan, Kokabiel's figure was sent flying uncontrollably. He plummeted from the sky at a forty-five-degree angle and crashed into the ground.
Upon impact, Kokabiel's body continued skidding across the ground, plowing through the woods surrounding the church, which collapsed one after another as they were struck.
A massive gash opened up in the earth from the sheer force of the impact, and it continued to widen as Kokabiel's body skidded nearly 50 meters before finally stopping.
A deep ravine was carved along the path where Kokabiel had been hurled.
"This..."
Sona watched the scene in shock, swallowing hard.
So strong.
Incredibly strong.
Sona was fully aware of Kokabiel's power, as she had once been captured by him.
Despite her High-Class strength and best among the young Devils, she had no chance of resisting against this Fallen Angel Cadre and was nearly killed.
But now, in the hands of Mahiro, this same guy had no chance to resist.
Sona had already done her best to estimate Mahiro's strength, but after witnessing him defeat Kokabiel in mere seconds, she realized she had still underestimated him.
"Kokabiel was defeated..."
At the church door, Valper looked on in horror at the smoke and dust in the distance, where Kokabiel's body had finally stopped.
"Damn, the Holy Sword hasn't been completed yet, and Kokabiel was the first to fall..." Valper muttered, terrified.
He knew Kokabiel wouldn't die that easily. After all, Kokabiel had survived the cruel environment of the Great war.
But even if Kokabiel wasn't dead, it didn't matter.
The Red Dragon Emperor was too strong. He had sent Kokabiel flying with just one blow. Even if Kokabiel managed to stand up and fight again, it would be pointless.
"No... the fusion isn't finished yet. I can't die here... I have to escape!" Valper immediately thought.
As for Kokabiel's life or death, he didn't care at all. Their relationship was purely mutual exploitation.
Valper could only hope that Kokabiel would get up and hold off Mahiro for a few more seconds to give him time to escape.
With that thought, Valper turned to flee into the church.
"Valper Galilei..."
Suddenly, from the darkness of the woods, a voice rang out, spitting Valper's name with venom, like the roar of a spirit risen from hell.
Valper, who had been heading toward the church, froze in shock and cursed inwardly.
He had hoped Mahiro would focus on Kokabiel and overlook his insignificant presence, giving him a chance to escape. But the sound of this voice left him with no such hope.
Valper glanced secretly at Mahiro, and his heart sank even further.
Mahiro's gaze had also turned toward the source of the voice.
Valper wanted to kill the person who had spoken. He turned stiffly and glared at the figure emerging from the woods.
It was a boy, around sixteen or seventeen years old, carrying a sword. As he walked out of the dark woods, the gloom on his face and the hatred in his eyes were unmistakable.
After a glance, Mahiro withdrew his gaze.
This boy was Yuuto.
"Did you track us down after the barrier was destroyed?"
Seeing Yuuto appear, Mahiro wasn't surprised at all.
The powerful spear of light that Kokabiel had summoned had destroyed the fragile barrier surrounding the church.
And the massive fluctuations caused by the spear of light were impossible to miss.
Not only Yuuto, but Rias and the others would likely arrive soon as well.
"I've finally found you, Valper Galilei!"
Yuuto emerged from the shadows like a vengeful knight, his eyes burning with hatred as he stared at Valper.
"Who are you?" Valper asked, feigning calmness.
He had hoped to remain unnoticed, but this boy had suddenly dragged him into the spotlight.
"Who am I?"
Yuuto gave a self-deprecating smile, sadness tinging his voice. "Have you even forgotten the experiment you conducted?"
Yuuto knew that, to Valper Galilei, he had probably been nothing more than a lab rat, someone whose name wasn't even worth remembering.
But facing Valper in person, Yuuto couldn't suppress the sadness and rage surging within him.
"Experiment?"
Valper was momentarily confused as he examined Yuuto more closely but failed to recognize him.
Over the years, he had conducted countless experiments, with countless test subjects dying at his hands.
To Valper, those who participated in his experiments were nothing more than disposable tools. There was no need to remember their names.
"The Holy Sword Project."
Yuuto was furious as he spat out the words.
"The Holy Sword Project?"
Valper thought for a moment before recognition dawned. "Ah, it's you, the subject who escaped back then! No wonder you seemed familiar."
Valper remembered the escapee from the Holy Sword Project. Back then, considerable effort had been made to capture him, but he had managed to slip away.
"Yes, it's me."
Yuuto looked at Valper with hatred. "I crawled out of hell to take revenge on you!"
"Revenge? When I accidentally let you escape, you should have hidden away to survive. Why would you come back?"
Now that Valper realized he was being targeted by Yuuto, he could no longer remain hidden.
He could only pray that Mahiro wouldn't decide to deal with him.
Valper glanced toward Kokabiel, hoping that he would stand up quickly and continue to delay Mahiro.
