CHAPTER FOUR

SHE CALLED MY NAME!!!

Arriving back at class, everywhere was silent and Jace could see how infuriated Kelvin was. He went to his seat gently and stared quietly at everyone. Just then, Mr. James, their HR (Home Room) teacher, entered with Kate.

He smiled, impressed at how his class was so quiet. He winks to Jace and he smiled.

" Alright guys, you got a new classmate. Introduce yourself"

"Ok," Kate said and turned to the class

" I'm Kate Sonnet, I hope we got along well," she said and bowed

Then, Kelvin raised his hand.

"Yes Kelvin," Mr. James said, giving him the approval to talk

" Are you forced to transfer? Why will you be here at almost the midterm exam?"

"Right"

" Did she do something bad at her formal school?"

" Did she bully?"

"what the hell"

" She got no pride"

" what if she ended up bullying us?"

" Her parent must be one of the most sponsors to our school, the principal can't even stop her"

" What a bi*ch" the students commented after Kelvin asked making the class noisy

" Enough!" Jace was frustrated, and he stood up, and then he breathed gently,

" You guys should at least give her a chance to answer your questions one by one. We aren't in the zoo, are we?" Jace said, and everyone was quiet.

Mr. James looked at Jace. He is indeed his savior, he was warned not to talk harshly, shout and control the students since he was from a low background, and he was given a temporary post because their permanent HR teacher was due and would soon conceive, so he became their temporary HR teacher. Only Jace helped him with this, and then he smiled, feeling reassured.

" Since you all are curious, how about saving those and getting to know her well as you guys get along," Mr. James said and smiled then he turned to Kate

" Find somewhere to sit," Mr. James said and Kate nodded

"Over here" Nala waved, smiling then she rushed there, quite excited.

" Anyone absent?"

"Kitty" Matrix said, and Mr. James nodded.

" Jace, go and check on your subject teacher," He said and Jace nodded.

" Good Day then," Mr. James said and left.

Jace looked at Kate who was smiling at Nala, then he stood up to leave until Kitty, his vice, arrives.

" Kitty, where have you been? You have not come to school since we resume, everything okay?" Jace asked, with a worried expression on his face.

Kitty smiled, blushing, and she used her hand to brush the hair on her face to the back of her ears.

" I'm alright now, don't worry," she said, blushing, she can't believe Jace cares about her.

" That's good then, make sure you mark your attendance, you are marked absent"

" Oh, thanks," she said, smiling

" Let's talk later, I still preserve your seat, no one can be my partner you know, except you," Jace said and they both smiled

" Ok, I will go and check on our subject teacher," Jace said and left

" Wait for me!" Kitty called after him, after dropping her bag, and rushed after him, blushing.

Kate felt irritated

" Jace is now good at flirting, I don't know he did have that side of him," Kate said, having an irritated look on her face

Nala looked at her, she looked jealous now.

' What the hell, she didn't even know how much jealous she looked now' Nala thought and smiled secretly. Then she heard the girls behind her mentioning Jace then she listened to them

" Kitty is shameless, isn't she? She keeps having a crush on Jace who never even thinks of her as a lady but just assistant of his" The first girl said

" Who knows? Maybe Jace is gay, have you ever heard of him dating?" The second girl suggested and the first girl looked at her

" Right, perhaps he was, you are right."

Nala was beaming with anger and looked at them angrily then they stood up and left

" what the hell" was what Nala heard them saying as they left

"Witches" Nala said, turning to the front, and she looked at Kate who have a smile on her face.

' see this girl she must be thrilled to hear Jace didn't have feelings for Kitty, she is silly! "

Kate then turned to her.

" By the way, where is Donald? "

" He is in sky class and this is ivy class"

" Ohhh "

"Yeah"

" I'm thrilled to be in your class"

"Me too" they both smiled.

At closing time, Donald was at the gate, waiting for Nala. After some minutes, he saw her show up, and he was about to call her when he saw Kate beside her. He sighed and turned to leave, then Nala called her

" Hey, aren't you waiting for me?"

"I am, but it seems you have a company," Donald said, disappointed.

Then Nala looked at Kate, giving her the look' apologize now'. Then Kate cleared her throat

" Ahahh right Donald, I apologize for being rude to you guys today, I was just joking and you guys took it seriously, so I played along, I am sorry" Kate pleaded

" That's true, right? I knew it, you can't be that rude, it's okay, apology accepted" Donald said and smiled

" By the way, where is Jace? Is he mad at me? " Kate asked and Donald shook his head,

" No, he wasn't, he was even defending you in the morning that you have a reason. He left because he has somewhere to go" Donald explained.

"Oh, okay, let's go," Kate said and the three of them leave.

Jace entered the big mansion and saw the old man in the living room on his phone, then he went to the other room, so he won't disturb him. He saw him finish calling when he arrived back in the living room

" You are here son," The old man said and smiled, revealing his front brownish teeth.

" Yeah, I'm home"

" That's good, what did you want to eat? " The old man asked and Jace looked at him, this old man won't listen to him

" Then if I told you what I wanted to eat, then you will go to the kitchen and cook for me? "

"of course"

" Then I'm gonna eat it? "

" Then are you going to throw it away?"

"Yes" Jace replied meanly

" Son, did I do something wrong? Is my cooking skills to have become awful? You know I'm getting old now, I don't know how much salt to put, I'm sorry son"

" Can you stop apologizing? I'm sorry, I can't help you when you need me, and that's why I told you to remarry or get a maid, but you will never listen. Yes, your cooking has become awful, I can't stand it! " Jace said, and he realizes the old man's eyes goes downcast then he went to him

" I'm sorry, no matter how awful your cooking has been, it's still the best to me," Jace said, and the old man smiled.

" I'm sorry I can't be with you sporadically "

" It's okay son, you should be with your family, your father, your mother"

" Why are you mentioning my father when he is right in front of me? That man is not my father, it's you" Jace said, and he looked at him worriedly

"Son"

"Dad". Jace replied, and the old man looked at him. He can't win against him anyway

" Dad, I came here to tell you something"

" I'm listening"

" Ethan is back," Jace said, and the old man looked at him, his eyes lightened, and he was transfixed.

" Who…. Ethan is what? "

" He is back from England," He said, and the old man couldn't believe his ear.

" What did your father say about it? "

" Chairman Norman said nothing, instead he threatened to send my mother away if he gives him a hard time"

" Dave has become more heartless than I thought. I will summon him here tomorrow"

"Thanks, Dad"

"It's okay son, go and get some rest, I will place an order," He said and Jace left for the room assigned to him in the mansion….

Jace woke up pretty late the next day, he was late for school, he quickly stormed into the bathroom and rushed out after some seconds. He wore his school uniform and stormed his bag to his shoulder, wearing his tie as he rolled downstairs.

"Son, I prepare something for you"

" I will eat it later, see ya"

Then he left.

He arrived at school just in some minutes and everywhere was quiet except their noisy class. He sighed, their teacher would blame him again since he was the class president. He arrived in the corridor and saw two students outside their classroom, and it turned out to be Kate and Kelvin,' What the hell, is Kelvin bullying her? ' He rushed there, fuming with anger with the determination of punching him if he places a finger on her.

" Do you know who I am? How dare a mere newbie look down on me" Kelvin said, smirking.

" of course, I do know you who won't know the craziest guy in Ivy's class" Kate replied, also smirking.

" You this bi*ch!" he raised his hand to slap her then a hand stopped his furious big hand, and then he turned to the person, and it was Jace.

Kate heaved a sigh of relief.

" Have you no shame? You want to hit a girl this time" Jace said and Kelvin looked at him icily,

" Who are you to interrupt? "

" Me? You don't seem to know, but I am the class president and will be held accountable if something happens to her". Jace said and smiled, which annoys Kelvin.

" Fu*k off," He said and wanted to leave when Jace stopped him

" Pick on her again, and you will realize how crazy I am when I get angry," He said and left with Kate.

They arrived at the garden, and he released her hand

" They are dangerous, make sure you stay away from them as much as you could," He said and Kate nodded.

" I… I… will get going then" Jace said and turned to leave, then he heard a voice that seemed to freeze his whole body.

" Jace" that was what she said and his whole body froze. He must have heard it wrong, even when they were kids, she never called him by his name. She prefers calling him names. He didn't believe his ears until she called again

" Jace" Then he turns slowly to her, and then she smiles at him. His heart was beating fast, and his cheeks were hot, that was the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. Her smile was like the brightness that clear his dark way. How he wished to stop this moment, how he wished all moments were like this, how he wished he could be with her… All day…
