Shiro grabbed the wall and pushed himself into the room very slowly so that he doesn't hit anything after all he was not experienced in doing zero G movements. he followed behind Minerva and entered the room. As soon as he entered the room bright white lights lit up the entire room. "What the hell!! There is nothing in this room." That's right the room was as empty as it can get with only a large cylindrical pillar in the middle of the room.
"That's right there is nothing in this room as this is not your room." Minerva said to Shiro.
"Then why did you bring me in here? I thought you were supposed to guide me to my room?" Siro became puzzled as this is not what he expected when Minerva told him to follow her into the room.
"No Shiro you have misunderstood I'm indeed leading you to your room. And this is definitely not your room this is just the entrance."
"Entrance but I don't see anything but a pillar in this room!" Shiro was puzzled hearing what Minerva said.
"Precisely." As soon as Minerva said that and stood in front of the pillar it slid open creating an opening into the pillar which had an hollow interior. "Please enter Shiro." She gestured Shiro to enter the chamber.
Shiro followed Minerva into the chamber which was lit with white light and the interior was made with metal with semi glossy metallic finish. There was a semi circular metal bar for holding onto. And on the right side of the opening there were three buttons labeled as one, two and three. "Is this an elevator? I thought we are on the top floor. I thought spaceship bridges are situated on the top floor. Or am I wrong in thinking this?" Shiro was bewildered thinking that the spaceship's bridge sections are normally located on the top floor but it seems that Aurora is different in this.
"Yes this is indeed an elevator which leads to the two topmost layers of the ship." Minerva confirmed this being an elevator and continued "And you are also not wrong about in thinking that most ship's bridge is situated on the top most layer or floor be it in concept, science fiction, or ships similar to Space X's starship. But Aurora is different in that the front part of the tower portion or the highest portion of the ship is curved in a way that the bridge has no obstruction in it's field of view and can operate as if it's on the top floor of the ship. Well Aurora is the first of it's kind so aside from the concepts and science fiction stuff there is actually no telling how the future ships would become. Besides not being on the top floor gives the bridge some extra layer of securities from impacts. After all without the main bridge the ship can not perform in it's full capacity. Also this floor also contains many of the important equipment such as the pods and the cold sleep room. " Minerva patiently explained to Shiro why Aurora's bridge section is not located on the top most floor of the ship.
"I see. I guess that's a pretty good reason I think." Shiro agreed with what Minerva said. " But if safety is concerned what if we were hit when we were on the top floor." Shiro expressed his concern over his family's safety being compromised when they were on the top floor.
"I understand your worries but chances of something like that happening are pretty small. You see this ship is protected by a energy shield and even if something were to come close to hit the ship you will have plenty of time to reach the bridge section. Unless someone deliberate shoot some very powerful warhead toward us, chances of us missing it is very slim. It's done just to add some extra layer to our safety." Minerva assured Shiro that he can rest easy that they are safe on the top layers. "And besides no matter how superior ones technology is there is always that tiny bit of chance of accidents happening no matter how small it is it exist. Even if they say it is hundred percent it never is. It may be very close to hundred percent but there is that zero point zero zero zero zero something chance of going something wrong."
"Thanks Minerva. I feel much more safe after listening to you. And I agree that there is no hundred percent in safety or in many things in life we may say it is hundred percent but in reality it is not." After listening to Minerva Shiro felt more at ease thane before.
"Wow Shiro that's a pretty nice line I'm gonna save it." Suddenly Rin exclaimed from the side hearing Shiro's word.
"Hmm a nice line it is." Arturia agreed.
"Hmm what line? What are you guys talking about?" Shiro became puzzled at their reaction.
"Ehem I quote "There is no hundred percent in safety or in many things in life we may say it is hundred percent but in reality it is not." this line." Rin repeated what Shiro said.
"But that's the truth no? I didn't said anything wrong or did I?" Asked Shiro puzzledly.
"No you didn't. That is why we said it was cool. Nevermind that Shiro rather lets go see your room." Rin urged Shiro to go up.
"Shiro hold onto the rail with hand and push the button labeled two it'll bring you to your room." Minerva instructed Shiro how to use the elevator.
Shiro did as Minerva said and pressed two on the panel. As soon as he pressed it the door closed and the elevator started to move upward slowly as this is zero gravity Shiro could feel the motion of the elevator more vividly then any other elevator on Earth.
After a few second the elevator came to a smooth stop and the door slid open. Minerva went out the door and gestured with her hand toward Shiro to follow her. "Shiro please follow me."
Shiro followed Minerva out of the elevator and looked around the area and became slack jawed.
"What the hell is this?" Shiro mumbled.
"What?" Minerva became perplexed at Shiro's mumbling.
"Why the hell there is a freaking house in a spaceship?!!" Shiro exclaimed loudly.
