The three girls, Addie, Yra, and Ruffa, huddled together, their voices low but their expressions animated as they discussed Scarlet.
"I have a bad feeling about her seeing that girl," Addie said, her brows furrowed in concern.
"You're not the only one," Ruffa replied, glancing at Scarlet from the corner of her eye. "Micah isn't just anyone. She's bold and fearless, which is great until it brings trouble. And we all know trouble loves House Evius."
Yra nodded, tapping her fingers lightly on the desk. "Scarlet probably doesn't even realize the position she's putting herself in. Or us, for that matter. It's not just about her anymore. The other houses are already watching us for any excuse to act superior."
"Exactly," Addie agreed, her tone sharper now. "Scarlet doesn't think things through sometimes. She's always been too trusting, and that could be her downfall."
