CHAPTER-21

"Captain Min, please come with me," Detective Chi said as he walked back to them after a while.

Yongi stood up and walked out with detective Chi.

Taehyung and Jungkook followed them behind.

"Hyung-nim,do you believe Shi YuiJu is the killer?" Yongi asked as they walked.

Yongi noticed Detective Chi froze for a moment.

"I don't know actually. But a psychopath like him is capable of killing," Detective Chi said with a sigh.

Though detective Chi didn't say anything,Yongi could see very clearly that detective Chi knew that he sent the wrong person away in this case.

Maybe,due to his own respect for this middle aged detective,Yongi stopped asking him any more questions about this topic.

"How's his reputation with his neighbors and colleagues?" Yongi asked.

"Good actually. No one ever complained about him," Detective Chi said.

"How do you know he's a psychopath?" Jungkook asked.

Detective Chi looked at Jungkook for a moment,then answered," We did the PST test."

"How was the score?" Jungkook asked again.

"142," Detective Chi replied

Jungkook didn't say anything again.

Soon,they came in front of a lab.

"Captain Min,this is Dr.Kim. He's our forensic doctor," Detective Chi said, introducing a older man in his late fifties.

He had short height,some white hairs and a round glasses. He was wearing a white apron with some gloves.

"Dr.Kim,this is Captain Min and his team. They came from Seoul. They wanted to talk about Shi YuiJu's case," Detective Chi said after the introduction.

"Hello,Dr.Kim," Yongi greeted shaking hand with Dr.Kim.

"What do you want to know?" Dr.Kim said.

"What do you think about that case?" Yongi asked.

"I already made the file," Dr.Kim replied.

Jungkook could see the defence in his voice.

"But we wanna know about your experience," Yongi said.

"That case was really a nightmare. The bodies were really in bad condition," Dr.Kim said sighing.

"Was there any scars mark on the back of the victims?" Jungkook asked.

"Yes,yes. There was," Dr.Kim said in a more positive tone.

"How many?" Jungkook asked.

"I don't know exactly. I didn't think it was important," Dr.Kim said, looking a little embarrassed.

"Dr.Kim, what is your thought about the missing hearts?" Yongi asked.

"I think the killer took them as a trophy. But you know hearts not easy to preserve," Dr.Kim said.

"So,if Shi YuiJu is really the killer,what would happen to the hearts now?" Yongi asked.

"They may be rotten already," Dr.Kim said.

"Dr.kim,Shi YuiJu was your student. What do you think about him?" Taehyung asked for the first time.

"He's a really good student. He liked to read and think about interesting things. But he wasn't that anti social. He was very popular among students and teachers," Dr.Kim said sighing.

Shi YuiJu was one of his best students,the one he was most proud of but now.

Dr.Kim sighed again.

"Dr,apart from the missing heart,did you find anything else about the bodies?" Yongi asked.

"They're all killed by poison,"Dr.Kim said.

"Was there any smile on their face?" Yongi asked.

"Smile? What smile?" Dr.Kim asked in confusion.

Jungkook showed him a photo of Moon BeumUn.

"Oh my god," Dr.Kim shouted in surprise.

The old doctor seemed visibly shaken up a little.

Detective Chi also saw the photo.

"Our victims didn't have this smile," Detective Chi confirmed.

"This is the only thing that is different from the victims of Shi YuiJu," Yongi said.

"You mean,you found more bodies?" Dr.Kim asked.

Yongi nodded.

"Then, maybe Shi YuiJu isn't the killer," Dr.Kim said.

Jungkook noticed the little hope in his eyes.

"Not necessarily. We think someone is copying Shi YuiJu," Yongi said.

"Oh," Dr.Kim said.

Jungkook noticed his eyes getting dimmed again.

This old doctor seemed genuinely fond of Shi YuiJun.

"Dr.Kim,do you know Shi YuiJu's family?" Yongi asked.

"Shi YuiJu and his sister were brought up by their parents in a typical Korean household. His father died first then his mother died five years ago. Then his wife died three years ago. He only has his sister now," Dr.Kim said.

"What about his daughter?" Yongi asked.

"His daughter is with his sister now," Dr.Kim said.

"Thank you for your time, Doctor,"Yongi said.

"Not a problem really. But,I have a request,"the old doctor said.

"Please,"Yongi said politely.

"Can you please let me know if you find out that Shi YuiJun is not the murderer?" Doctor Kim said.

"So,you think he's not the murderer, doctor?" Yongi asked.

His tone was still polite but there was something more authoritive this time.

Jungkook found the old doctor loss of his words. He seemed wanting to talk but was unable to find his words.

"I think that's not a huge request. I will send the words through detective Chi,"Yongi decided to spare the old doctor of his embarrassment and finished the conversation.

They said goodbye to Dr.Kim and left the police department.
