Confrontation

The next few days passed like a breeze. But to Alexia, it didn't. Time was very slow to her. Ivan had been gone for the past six days but the one day remaining was killing her. She was in the garden enjoying the summer breeze when Dayna rushed up to her.

"My lady" she panicked "Princess Daffany is in the palace. She said she was hoping you would receive her" her lady and Princess Daffany obviously had bad blood between them. Whatever reason why Princess Daffany came here would not be good. Her lady and his Highness just reconciled not long ago.

Alexia raised her brows. Why would the vile Princess be looking for her. Maybe she was here to spite her because she thought she had not yet settled her misunderstanding with Ivan. If that was the case, then she was very stupid to come after seven days. She confirmed anyways "Are you sure she's looking for me?"

Dayna reconfirmed "Yes, my lady. She said she was looking for you" she was sure she didn't mishear it. Princess Daffany said her lady's name.

"Where is she now" Alexia asked.

"She's in the throne room" Dayna unhesitatingly replied

Alexia walked forward and headed for the throne room. She wasn't sure why Princess Daffany was looking for her but her gut feeling told her it wasn't anything good. She breathed in and out and opened the door of the throne room. Daffany was sitting there drinking tea and smiling pleasantly.

Alexia walked up to her, took her seat and said grudgingly "What do you want?" she was ready to have an open confrontation with this spoiled princess.

Daffany smiled again "Princess Alexia, please have some tea and calm down".

Alexia looked at her questioningly. What was the evil princess planning. To her, her smile looked like the devil's own luring her into a trap. She glanced at the tea alarmingly. Was it poisoned?

It looked as if Daffany read her thoughts because she looked up again and said "Rest assured, it's not poisoned".

Alexia smiled "I am not just in the mood for tea" she denied. She was definitely not going to trust this scheming princess.

Daffany ignored her and continued sipping her tea. Alexia was getting frustrated "I am sure you didn't come here to drink tea, right?" she was getting impatient.

Daffany smiled but this time, her smile was evil "You saw right through me. I am not here for tea" she laughed "Let me go to the topic of discussion then. Leave Prince Ivan" she said seriously.

Alexia laughed and Daffany frowned " Is there anything funny about what I said?". Alexia held out her hand to tell Daffany to wait. She finally stopped laughing and put on a serious expression "You want me to leave my husband? As in my own husband? You're playing with me, right?" she couldn't stop laughing. Daffany was meant to born to work at a circus.

Daffany frowned. Was there anything funny about what she said? "You heard me correctly and I am not joking around and as you saw the other day, your supposed husband kissed me on his own accord and I am sure Princess Alexia knows when to give up because you are fighting a lost battle".

Alexia smirked "You want me to divorce my husband? I am sorry but I have my pride. Even if both of you are having an affair, I still have more authority as his wife. Don't tell me that's why you travelled all the way from Brine to Medrian".

Daffany laughed. Alexia was proving more stubborn than she expected "I'm sure you know what you saw in this same throne room seven days ago. I don't like repeating myself. Leave Prince Ivan and I will compensate you".

"I would be a fool to leave a husband that has everything for your stupid compensation" Alexia daringly said "And by the way, I already heard you admitting to the fact that you framed my husband when you were talking to someone in your room so why do you think your words would make me suddenly leave him. I would have to crush your dreams and wake you to the sad reality".

Daffany's face grew pale "You heard? But...I..was...sure...very sure..no..one could...listen in.....on my conversation".

Alexia patted Daffany's hands "Say that when you remember to close your door well". Daffany's face gradually grew into a ball of fury "You..you evil witch. What the hell is wrong with you? It's not as if you love Prince Ivan. Why can't you just leave him? It's not that hard. I know you like Prince James. I can help you get him".

Alexia's face looked shocked for a split second before returning to normal like it was never there. How did she know? Was there someone spying on her back at her kingdom?

Daffany smirked, happy she got her attention "You would obviously want to know who the spy is? You would be shocked if I tell you who the spy is. Guess by yourself or no, let me not keep you in suspense. The spy is...."

She didn't finish her sentence when a figure stepped in. Alexia's expression turned into that of surprise as she rushed into Ivan's arms. She smiled brightly "When did you come back? I thought you said you would be back in a week. There's still one day left".

Ivan kissed her forehead and smiled "You didn't miss me? Do you want me to go back?" he turned to leave when a soft hand wrapped around his wrists. He finally heard her saying "I didn't mean it that way. I was just surprised to see you, that's all".

Ivan turned around and wrapped his arms around her waist "Hmm...did you miss me?" Alexia turned red as she accepted shyly "Mmm...I did" she buried her face in his chest from embarrassment. She wasn't meant to say that out loud.

Daffany's face darkened by a noticeable amount when she saw the two of them embracing each other like there was no one else around. The love she saw in Ivan's eyes was very irking to her. She vowed in her heart that she would still separate these two.
