A date?

Alexia groaned as she and Ivan walked as she and Ivan entered their room 'Who knew learning the basics of handling a sword would be so hard' she thought resignedly. She fell on the bed with a sigh and watched as Ivan walked into the bathroom. She instantly fell asleep.

Ivan walked out of the bathroom and climbed into the bed. He pulled Alexia close and closed his eyes. The next morning was just a normal routine again. Ivan walked into the room "Do you want to go on a date?" he asked genuinely. He wanted to go on a date with her but he didn't really have time.

Alexia was surprised "A date? But where? Don't tell me you prepared it already?" she was not prepared for him to ask her on a date at all. Why was he treating her this nicely? Her heart wanted to forget reason but if he was just being nice to her because he felt it was his duty and not out of some feelings for her or he only felt that he had to do nice things as her husband?

Ivan nodded "Hmmm...let's go now, shall we?" he asked. Alexia nodded and they walked out into an already prepared carriage. The ride was silent and peaceful. The carriage finally stopped. They came out of it and Alexia looked around wonderingly "Where is the place we are going to? I don't see anything except grass here. Is this the place? Ivan, are you sure you know how to plan a date?" now she really wondered if he was going to just make them stand there and look at the skies in the name of a date. If that was what he was really planning, she would prefer to go back home. Home. It really sounded nice when she thought of it.

Ivan chuckled "Obviously not. We are not staying here. How would you know where we are going if we just keep standing here" he stated amusedly.

They walked forward and turned a corner and Alexia was shocked. He really knew how to plan a date. Where they were standing was a pathway of different flowers and there were tiny lights illuminating it. It looked beautiful and there was a table for two under an a type of flower shade. Ivan pulled her towards the table and made her sit down. He walked to his own seat and sat down "What do you think, my dear wife? Is it up to your standard or..." he slurred purposely "Is it below your standard your standard?"

Alexia grinned "It's passable. I can give you an eight out of ten. That's good right?" she didn't expect him to plan their date so meticulously "By the way, when did you plan this? It's obviously not something you could plan by a day" she reasoned.

Ivan nodded "Well, how I prepared it is going to be a secret. But I will tell you how I found this place. When I started regulating the activities here, I liked walking around nature-like things so I walked till I saw this place. The grass looked like it ended at a narrow corner and most people would have turned back but I still walked a little and moved ahead to a corner and then I found this place" he recalled.

Alexia put a steak into her mouth and chewed "Hmm....so am I the first person you've brought here or.." she paused.

"Are you jealous my dear wife? Or am I the one mistaken?" he laughed out. Who knew his little wife was the jealous type "Don't worry, you are the first my jealous wife".

"You are mistaken my dear husband. I was just asking because I was curious" she said unhesitatingly "And I am not in anyway jealous"

Ivan cut some steak and put it in his mouth "I will not argue with you over whether you are jealous or not but I know better. What I think is what I think" he concurred.

Alexia shook her head "I feel like laughing at your arrogance my dear husband. But you are right, you have the right to think what you want to think" she admitted "But seriously, I was just asking because I was curious and not because I was jealous or anything. You are misunderstanding again, my dear husband"

Ivan nodded in acceptance "I am not misunderstanding and why are you desperately trying to prove yourself when I am not saying anything? It just keeps proving you are trying to hide something but what are you trying to hide wife? Is it what I am thinking?" he grinned. He could tell his wife was trying to hide why she asked "But let's not talk about this anymore and enjoy the moment, right?"

"Ok but let's eat. The food would probably get cold if we don't eat it and we keep talking. You didn't answer my question before though. When did you think of this date? It was obviously not today so that means you thought about it when though?"

"I thought about it before I left for my trip but I didn't know how to ask you sooo...." he paused "But today I suddenly got the courage to ask you so here we are" he had been thinking about it when he was out of the kingdom but he didn't know how to say it out. He didn't even know how he got the courage to tell her and he was very nervous about whether she would agree or not and surprisingly she did.

"That's nice" she smiled "So should we eat now or do you want to go back now?" she asked.

"Let's eat, walk around and go back" he said happily

Ivan and Alexia enjoyed their meal in perfect harmony. Alexia was very happy. She thought that even if Ivan was doing all this for her out of his husbandly duties, she would not mind but hen she thought again. Could she bear another unrequited love?
