Bai Yunya, Zhang Wanwan, and Yang Chin are three different individuals that worked in one company in the inner part of city H.

Their lives were peaceful and have lived normally.

Bai Yunya lives alone and busied herself with her work and has improved her life ever since graduating. However, her accomplishments at work were not unnoticed. A few of her co-workers actually hated her, and this was the cause of her downfall.

Meanwhile, Zhang Wanwan is very famous in the company for being outgoing. Ever since her first boyfriend broke her heart, she did not have a serious relationship with anyone. She would jump from one boyfriend to another, especially if the man is only interested in her beauty and body. Hence she was called a 'slut' behind her back which she did not mind. And because of this, she seems to have ticked off the wrong person and was punished.

Yang Chin, on the other hand, has many boyfriends before but finally found a boyfriend which she has been living for almost 3 years now. The two seemed to be a loving couple and has decided to get married someday. But who would have known that her boyfriend would push her to the fire just because she was framed by someone?

Yang Chin was the one who suffered the greatest mental ordeal of the three. She was even raped and this experience left a dark mental trauma in her heart.

Yet right at this moment, Yang Chin has forcefully created her dantian and became a Qi practitioner just like Bai Yunya.

As she opens her eyes, a silver glint appears and the retina of her eyes slowly changes in color from hazel brown to dark green.

Zhang Wanwan on the side is already covering her nose.

Hearing those women inside the room made me show a faint smile on my face. My feeling right now is a bit complicated. This is because as I have looked at these three, I feel like looking at my own family. My only regret was not able to protect them. And I know that I will carry this regret throughout my life.

I carefully knocked at the door.

"It's Xin Wei…" Bai Yunya said as she opened the door.

The two on her side seem to heave a sigh of relief upon hearing her words.

"You're back… How was it?" Bai Yunya asked as I enter the room.

"Everything is fine… It seems that you have successfully become a Qi practitioner…" I said while looking at Yang Chin.

She was a bit shy as she smiled awkwardly.

I look around and found the bathroom.

"You guys have been suffering so far, I will prepare the bath so please wait," I said as I enter the bathroom.

2 hours later…

I was on the rooftop checking the surroundings when I heard someone coming up the stairs. From her scent, I could tell that she is Bai Yunya.

"Hey, Xin Wei… why don't you take a rest. You've had a hard day… Let big sister be the guard for tonight." Bai Yunya said with a smile.

I just gave her a faint smile. How could I just rest when in this hell hole-like place? In fact, in the forest, I seldom sleep. Instead, I absorb Qi which could invigorate my body many times better than sleeping.

But how could I turn down her kind gesture? I just sat on the ground of the rooftop and start meditating.

So far, my growth has stopped to this point and no matter how I tried to improve myself, the bottleneck really bothers me a lot.

But anyway, I have to deal with this and just continue improving my skills then. I still need to learn more fighting skills for that matter.

When I was a student, I have two ways of gaining information quickly. One is through the library, and the other one is through the internet. I already got a laptop from the mercenary base, so what I need now is an internet connection which seems to be nonexistent in this area. Or there might be one but it is being controlled by the syndicates.

With that in mind, I plotted a plan to quietly enter the city and hunt down Lin Ting, as he is my first target. The one closest to me right now is him, so I need to get my hand on that hateful guy.

When he plotted against me and Lin Qiao, I have already engraved his face in my mind and that evil laughter he has at that time will not elude my dreams. I promised myself to exact my revenge the way he did it to me.

However, I also need to get the information on how my parents died. If I can get it from him, then it would be for the best, if not then I would just kill that guy and ask another one of those ten people who owe me a great debt.

I subconsciously tighten my fist and suddenly opened my eyes. But then I was startled when I saw a beautiful face in front of me.

I did not know why her face was so close to mine, but her faint warm breath made my skin tingle a little bit and my body seems to shiver in excitement. I don't know if it is the right term, but I know that through my body's reaction, it seems that my pheromones are telling me to mate.

But I dare not take action because it is not my style, it is not me.

I was really close to Lin Qiao and there are many instances that we have this kind of close contact. We even accidentally touched lips; however, I did not take advantage of that time. I have no right to be happy right now. I have no right to like someone anymore. I am but a failure of a man, someone who has caused my loved ones to suffer because of my choices and my actions.

As if detecting the conflicting emotion on my face, Bai Yunya slowly moved her head away from me. At this time, I realized that our lips have almost touched. And the beautiful face in front of me has now turned crimson red.

I did not know what to say, as I myself did not know what lead us to this point.

I could not deny that Bai Yunya is truly a beautiful woman. Especially without her makeup, her bare face is enough for me to tell that the makeup she is wearing seems to be covering this hidden true beauty.

The awkward moment between us did not last as I could feel that the morning sun is about to rise from the horizon.
