Preparing for Midterms.

Just as I was about to leave my dormitory going to school, I encountered him.

"Good morning, Yukimura!" I raised my hand to greet him in a casual manner.

Yukimura was a classmate that had been so against of his placing in Class D. He wears glasses and he's one smart cookie.

Yukimura was holding a textbook studying as he walks, and then notices me. "Oh, Takamura-kun."

"Studying? You're so diligent. Would you mind if we go together?"

"No, I won't really mind." He said as he walked on.

We matched our pace with each other though.

"By the way, I'm sorry about the thing the other day. It was not my intention to antagonize you." I say sorry.

"It's not... something you really need to apologize. It's simply a squabble. I'm also sorry for raising my voice at you." He said.

"Then we're even now, I guess? We're gonna be together for 3 years so let's get along well, okay?"

"Yes... I can do that."

For me I opened my PSP and started playing games in it. There are risks when doing so, like bumping on a pole or tripping on a rock, but I made sure I'm aware of my surroundings when I do so.

Yukimura glanced at me for a little bit before saying, "Playing games at a time like this, the exams are coming fast. Are you fine without studying?"

"Ah, don't worry about it. I'll just cram the night before and get perfect scores anyway." I say while my fingers clicked fast on the buttons.

Yukimura flinched a little bit at the words I said. I guess it would be frustrating that a guy who's scored higher than him don't have to make an effort to study.

"So Yukimura-kun, what do you think of this school?" I asked.

"I can't truly understand how this school operates. At the very least, I don't think someone academically excellent would be put on a class of defectives." Yukimura said.

Tokyotou Kodou Ikuse Kotou Gakou/Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School... It totally is different from any school that normally existed. Some schools are academically focused, some are sports, some arts, and some are schools only for boys or girls. If anything else, this school had a different way of educating and goals to produce superior human resources for the future of Japan.

"Hmmm... But if you really can't understand that, then isn't that exactly why you're put in Class D?" I said.

"What do you mean by that?" Yukimura lowers his hold on his textbook a little bit to look at me. "As far as I know, I haven't had any weak subjects. It's just a matter of effort on studying to get better. And I'm confident in my scores in the Entrance Exams."

I sighed and turned off my PSP and meet his eye, "The fact that you aren't aware of your flaws, Horikita also was the same."

Though in Horikita's case, she was much worse.

"Anyway we still have 3 years in this school. If you want to climb up to Class A, then I suggest you think about it and do your best. Kay?"

During afternoons it was decided that I will give Haruka some tutoring. I decided to take a break in club activities as the Midterms fast approaching.

"Then I'll meet you at the library, Haruka." I suggested.

"How boring~" Haruka insisted that we study somewhere else instead of the library.

"Then what do you suggest then, Haruka?"

"I want to go to a Cafe!" She said looking really excited.

Are Cafés supposed to be where you're studying? I suppose anywhere is fine as long as she could focus.

We entered in a Café inside Keyaki Mall. It was really popular, especially to girls. It's practically a place where friends meet up and socialize. That what Cafés are supposed to be I guess.

As I began teaching her, she's particularly really good. Objectively she would be above average.

"Hey did you know? Hirata-kun and Karuizawa-san was dating apparently."

"That's really old news. I think it's been a couple of weeks or so already?" I said searching my memories. "And more importantly how are you so chummy and outgoing when you're acting totally different in class?"

"Well I don't really get along with most of the girls in class. They tend to be really annoying, you get me?" Haruka said with some irritated tone.

"Is that really so?" I'd guess some girls are just jealous of her. She's pretty but since he wasn't as friendly as Kushida, Haruka would be the target of the girl's ugly jealousy.

"Speaking of which you'd taken some time off from the club right? And yet you're still playing in lunch break." Haruka disinterested said changing the topic.

"Not really. I just didn't want to go lunch with people really. So I use playing games as an excuse for practicing. Cause I belong to a gaming club after all."

"I'm just not interested in clubs, I guess. I'm fine with spending time by myself." Haruka said twirling her hair with her fingers.

"I totally get that feeling." I nodded my head.

I'm also the type to spend time by myself. The only reason I joined the gaming club, is because it really looked interesting. And fortunately the gaming club members are also full of people like me, introverted nerds.

Just thinking about how I tried acting cool during the start if the school year made me cringe and die from embarrassment. Ahhh!!

The tutoring sessions continued. For now I was able to make sure she would be able to pass her exams. If I had to take a guess, she could get scores above 60's even with her weakest subjects. And based on my calculations, the passing score shouldn't be somewhere above 40 points, so Haruka would have a 20 point leeway if ever an unexpected issue occured.

"Seriously that's really super easy now. This test is gonna be a walk in the park, don't you agree Hayamuu~?"

"Ughh... As long as you sleep early before the test, that would be really helpful."

Honestly I'm still not used with someone calling me with nicknames like that. Is that how supposed to be with people you were close with? Haruka and I only just met a few days ago. But since we don't really fit in groups, we are similar to that regard. And I found it easy to talk with her with the same circumstances as me. I guess we just had a great chemistry.

"And besides, I would look forward to your score Hayamuu."

"There's really nothing needed to be excited about my score.I'll just cram the night before and get perfect scores anyway." I said while somehow get a familiar feeling to those words.

"Wow! But uh... Are you seriously just gonna cram?"
