2 Two Blessings!

With the snap of his fingers, both Fuki and I fell to the ground and with a blink of an eye, spawned into a strange circular room with pillars all around us.

"This is the world he was talking about... Erinautis?" I asked. Fuki nodded. He seemed so confident, I liked a confident partner and could see us saving this world from whatever danger may follow. Or maybe I was idolizing him too much.

Fuki and I walked out of the room towards a bright light from a bigger room. It seemed we had walked straight into a throne room in the middle of a large meeting. There had been noble-looking people at a massive scale all over the table, but once Fuki and I revealed ourselves, they were silenced and stared at us.

"They're the two new Heroes! Behold! Our country is saved!" The mightiest looking noble, most likely the King, had shouted with all of the energy left in his old soul at the sight of the two of us. Fuki smiled at me and the room rejoiced in cheerful claps and celebration.

"Um, hello there! I'm Fuki and this is my friend Anima... we're here to be heroes for this world." Fuki said to the King. The King proudly nodded and led us towards the table with all of the noble-looking people sitting by it.

"Heroes! How should we identify you? Would you like to go by your names? Your Hero titles?" One of the nobles asked. I took note of how interesting the royal structure was here... to have these classic-looking royal members who look like they're out of medieval time bow down to some guys who just appeared on a circle... did we have the top authority or something?

"You can call me whatever works," Fuki stated. The King and the nobles nodded in agreement and decided to call him Fuki, the Melee Hero.

"I don't like being called a Hero... you can just call me Anima," I told the crowd. They also nodded, but not in agreement, more like in confusion. "I just don't want to be seen as above anybody... I'm just a regular guy, after all." I clarified.

That seemed to clear things up a little bit, but the atmosphere still felt awkward because of what I said. While the King was talking to his people, Fuki leaned in towards me. "Why not play the part? They idolize people like us, you know?" He told me. I guess I could understand, but it really wasn't my style.

In my previous life, I never liked the attention and stayed away as much as possible. Just because I was sent to another world to be a hero doesn't mean I would change my whole personality.

"So, as the Magic and Melee Hero, we have people who would like to train you as their apprentices. Will you accept?" The King asked Fuki and me. I looked to the people who were bowing their heads with respect on the other side of the noble table.

A majority of them were guys, but there was one girl who stood out to me over the other two girls present. She tightly closed her eyes, probably because of how nervous she was. There were way too many trainers present, so the chances of a girl like her being picked were really low. I couldn't tell if I was pitying her, or genuinely wanted somebody of her demeanor to train me, but I pointed to her.

"I'd like to be trained by you," I said out loud. The nobles all gasped out of surprise like we were in some sort of drama movie.

"Oh no... Anima, you don't want her. She's never had an apprentice before, and she's not suited to train you. You're two different magic-wielders." The King told me. "Here, you should pick this one." The King pushed forward a man who looked nonchalant. He tried to introduce himself, but I refused.

"No thanks. I'll do what I can without a trainer." I looked at him and everybody in the room seemed surprised. Truth be told, I've seen something like this before. A man trusts a person who is appointed by a King and is instantly betrayed. I don't want to take any chances and would rather work alone.

"If you say so, but our trainers will always be open to you when you enter this castle." The King explained. He poured us some water with lemon in it and sat down on his throne at the front of the table with the nobles in it. I forgot that lemon water was seen as a luxury during this period.

"Do we have rooms prepared for our Heroes?" The King asked his nobles. Some of them didn't know, but others nodded their heads. "We will show you to your rooms and regroup here for a dinner." The King added on.

He got up and some man dressed in classic servant's attire went to bring my drink with us as we walked. "I can hold it, it's fine," I told him. Again, he looked surprised by my drive to be independent. Slowly but surely, I was getting a bad feeling about this atmosphere.

"Right this way. We have two rooms at your discretion." The King pointed at two rooms at the end of the hallway coated in royal purple fabric. It was exactly like some castle on my Earth. Erinautis seemed to be of the same composition and wildlife, but there were definitely some outstanding things this planet had... such as the large tree planted in the center of this Kingdom.

My room had a perfect view of this tree, but Fuki had a clearer view of the city underneath us. The beds seemed even better than mine on Earth, and I had a lot of stuff in my room, like a bathroom, shower, bed, desk, kitchen, and... washer and dryers?

"Hey... how do you have all that stuff?" I pointed to the washer and dryers, asking the King about the technology they possessed.

"Ah, the previous Magic Hero introduced it to us before suddenly getting into an accident. You know... all Magic Heroes have brought something of value to this Kingdom, does your world have objects similar to those devices?" The King asked me.

When I looked at the two machines, it appeared that they weren't plugged in. I should've known, they only activate from an outside source. If I was going to live here... I wanted to make it as comfortable as possible.

"How's the climate here?" I asked the King.

"Well... it gets hot in the summers, cold in the winters, how it usually works." He told me.

"Perfect. Then it's around winter time so this wouldn't work as well... but you can make a cooling device easily for the summer." The King looked intrigued. It was insane to me that this Kingdom had a washer, dryer, and a working bathroom with properly constructed sewage, but no fans.

"I'll have to study Magic and how it works here... but I'm confident I can make a device that creates heat too," I told the King. He seemed even happier than he did before... but this was all talk! I had no idea how heating works! I just wanted to sound cool!

"Amazing! That's quite the invention! I look forward to working with you, Anima!" The King shouted out to me. He walked over to my door and waved at me. "I'll have somebody come by later for dinner, get some rest!" The King added on, walking towards Fuki's room. It looked like it was his turn to be pestered by the King.

I laid out on my bed and stared at the ceiling. Now that I was in this new world, the possibilities were endless... but I had no idea how to use my abilities or activate Magic, whatever that was deemed in this world. Fuki had it easy, he just had to swing a sword around. I looked around my room, searching for anything left by the previous owner. When the door closed, I could see a staff with tape all over it and a strange, glistening orb on the top. It had a piece of paper with a note on the top.

"To The Magic Hero." It said.
