The Oak Tree Was Cut
Damian just kept on glaring at Hero but suddenly burst into laughter causing Hero to look at him confusedly. "You amazed me, Hero. I don't know which informant did you get that information but I should have given him a round of applause," he said and wore out his leather jacket and dropped them down to the ground.
Damian gritted his teeth as he looked at Hero but he didn't let that Hero notice it. He was afraid that he might be killed right here right now. Damian knows that Valerie didn't enable her blood to flow through his veins, which means, he is unable to use the ability that Valerie gave to him now. Valerie still doesn't trust Damian's capability to produce soldiers to protect her which is why she wants to make Damian be able to complete his mission without power. If he can do that, he will granted abilities and have the position as her left-hand man.
"I will let you experience how a servant of a corpse screams fight. Give me your best shot, Hero," Damian speaks as he smirks causing Hero to snicker looking at him.
"Bold of you to say that, I know for sure you already want to get out of here," Hero speaks making Damian snicker.
"You are underestimating me so much, don't cry if I punch you in the face, huh? I will make sure your grave will be in this building!" Damian shouted but Hero just smirked looking at him.
"If you will last even an hour, Damian," he speaks and immediately dashes towards him and smacks at the back of his head causing Damian to bleed his nose.
Simon at the rooftop with Peitho sleeping on the ground was smirking watching Hero fighting against Damian. "That's my master," he speaks and immediately looks behind him when he senses something. He felt a bit feel relief after seeing that Peitho had just woken up. "Hey kid, why don't you watch your brother fighting up here? You are lucky to have a brother with such skills," Simon added with a smile on his face.
Peitho quickly gets up and looks below. There she saw Hero fighting against a person but it seemed that the enemy he was fighting was weaker than him which surprised her, especially after seeing dead people scattered on the ground. She slowly turns her face and looks at Simon. "Did my brother kill them?" she asks.
"We both did, but most of them are your brother's doing," Simon replied causing Peitho to shut her mouth and continue to watch his brother fighting. While watching, Peitho saw something under the oak tree which is why she just kept on staring at it and observing.
Damian was now like a punching bag as Hero kept on punching and smacking him causing Damian to have bruises and wounds. He was bleeding and when Hero finally stopped, he looked at Damian who was now kneeling on the ground coughing blood.
Hero smirked looking at pitiful Damian. Hero knows that Damian hasn't fully received the ability that Valerie gave to him which is why he is confident about defeating Damian. It takes a week before you can fully receive power from Valerie. He already knows this when he also fights Damian in his first life. Without Valerie's markings, he is still a weak and normal human being who just keeps on boasting about his position to make people afraid of him.
Originally, Valerie didn't give him the ability like the way he tell stories right now. If ever he had some abilities, it would be the time that Valerie enabled the blood that Damian drinks that comes from her. A marking can be seen on his face also, he would be having a hard time fighting against him but in their case, he didn't even sweat from punching and smacking him. To Hero, Damian is just a normal human.
"Where is this power you are talking about, Damian? I haven't fully used my power yet and now you are bleeding and almost dying?" Hero asks and sits with only his feet touching the ground. He forcibly turns Damian's face to look at him and speaks. "Where is your master?" he asks.
"Why? Do you think you can be able to defeat her? You are too arrogant to have that kind of power, Hero. You don't know what kind of consequences you will receive after consuming the black gem. You might enjoy it this time but I will tell you. That power will make you suffer and regret. You will live a life you never wanted, Hero," he replied causing Hero to punch him in the face causing him to bleed more and cough.
"I am not asking for that. I am asking you where is your master?" he asks once again grabbing his clothes and loser to him causing Damian to look at him.
"Valerie changes her hideout. We don't know where did she go so I can't answer your question," Damian speaks making Hero just stare at him. He thought that maybe he wasn't able to sense Valerie's aura in their city because she moved in secret. In his past life, Hero is sure that Valerie was sleeping at the station in their City but today, it feels like Valerie vanished in an instant as he cannot sense her energy.
"Aren't you afraid just now?" Hero asks him but Damian just gives him a smirk trying to tease Hero.
"Why would I? Besides, I knew to myself that I wouldn't die. Valerie will protect me. She will send a lot of monsters towards here you idiot and for sure the three of you can't be able to escape from this place," he said but Hero didn't buy it. He still keeps on holding Damian's shirt while trying to sense something when he hears that steps are running towards their place. His eyes widen causing Damian to smirk.
"Did not I tell you? Before we came into this building we had already prepared to cut the oak tree as it would be a hindrance to Valerie's plans in this city, the oak tree might be cut currently," he added and smirked.
"You pain in the ass!" Hero speaks and gives him another punch in his face making Damian to fall the ground. Hero kicks his stomach and leaves Damian behind but Damian just smirks looking at Hero running away from him. He tried his best to stand up and walk to find himself a hiding place.
Before he could find a room to hide, one monster who was wearing armor, with horns on his head stood in front of Damian. "Valerie wanted to see you."
Hero was running to find Simon and Peitho, luckily, the three of them just bumped into each other. "The oak tree has been cut, and a lot of chaosmutants and spider monsters are running towards here, let us get out of here immediately." The two nod their heads after Hero speaks.
"I have a car, let's go. We can use it to escape," Simon speaks and leads the way. When they finally arrived at the parking area, they immediately went inside the car and Simon started the engine. He immediately drives as fast as he can to escape from the monsters.
Hero looked behind them and saw monsters running toward them. At the top of one spider monster, he saw a woman standing with a red big sword on her hips. Scarlet hair and dark eyes staring at them. The woman seems familiar to him however he can't remember where he saw her.
"Where is Reyana's location again?" Hero asks Peitho.
"From Edson University," Peitho answered looking at her brother who was sitting behind them.
"You know that woman? I know where that University is located. What do you want from her?" Simon asks as he keeps on driving looking in the side mirror still seeing monsters running. Their car was about to bump into something but Simon's skill in riding made him avoid the car crash.
"She is an important person, now hold your steering wheel tight as I make your car the fastest car ever in the world," Hero speaks making Simon smirk and ready for what Hero gonna do.
"Alright." Hero touches the car and closes his eyes taking out his energy on the car. Gradually, the car goes faster and faster making the monsters behind them slowly disappear from their naked eyes. "How did you do that?" Simon asks.
"Transferring energy. Now, let us head to Reyana. I am hoping she's still there as I need her help," Hero speaks staring in from of him with a serious expression.

[At Edson University]
A woman with orange hair hiding under the teacher's desk while the room was locked as Smokevine monsters were lurking around trying to find their prey. While she was hiding, one man was running in the hallway making the smoke-vine monsters look at him. "N-no!" the man shouted and ran as fast as he could.
But the Smokevine's quick movement broke the glass and took the man out of the building. "Don't eat me, please. No! I am begging you, No!" the man still shouting causing the woman to shut her eyes and cover her ears as she already had enough of hearing these kinds of voices.
Even though they try to escape in silence, day or night, they can't as Smokevine monsters have quick senses and movements unable to move to escape. The monsters eat the man piece by piece splattering his blood at the building's wall and leave after satisfying themselves. They are now heading toward the forest to sleep but that doesn't give her a complacent feeling. She knows that another smoke-vine monster will appear shortly after minutes.
