Hero's Uprising and Downfall II (Training)

Heavy breathing could be heard in the endless plains as Chang-min lays on the floor. He was sweating all over and was covered in weights of some kind.

2 weeks have passed since the first meeting of him and his master and he's been training nonstop since then.

Hell is an understatement to describe the training.

At first, Chang-min felt like he accepted his current situation too easily. He noticed that he was abnormally calm and could think rationally even though he was literally FUCKING TELEPORTED TO A SEPERATE POCKET DIMENSION.

That was when the man told him about the status screen.

"Status"

Chang-min

Level: 2

Race: Human and ???

Job: Hero (In training)

Skills: Calm Mind (S Tier), Language Proficiency (A-Tier), and Acceleration (F-Tier 1.2%)

Status: Perfect and Never tire, never hunger, never fear.

[Magic Count: LOCKED]

[Magic Level: LOCKED]

[Strength: 13] [Dexterity: 16]

[Stamina: 10] [Perception: 12]

'Calm Mind is a skill that keeps my mind calm in any situation. it's a crazy good skill to have maybe I wouldn't have accepted my new environment so easily if it wasn't for this..'

Before Chang-min could ponder any longer he started hearing footsteps from behind him.

Turning around he noticed that the masked man was right in front of him.

"You've grown in these 2 weeks. But that's all I can give you like the tutorial of our training is over"

"Tutorial?"

I was confused but hearing his words I instantly knew what he meant.

"You didn't think that the training was gonna be this easy did you?"

As I look up I see his eyes behind the mask. His eyes had a hint of madness into them.

"You bastar-"

Before I can finish my sentence the masked man threw a punch at me.

I instinctually tried blocking it but as his fit hit my arms I got sent flying 10 meters back.

I could hear my bones cracking just from that one hit alone.

"Don't worry I'll go easy on you"

That was when Chang-min had to fight for his life.

The "training" went on for days then days turned into months then years turned into decades.

Chang-min finally got what Never tire, never hunger, never fear meant. No matter how long he fought he was never hungry nor tired. He never felt thirst or fear for his life. He felt perfect regardless of the situation.

(50 years later)

In the endless plains, the masked man seems to be looking at the sky while pondering something.

Heavy footsteps could be heard behind him.

As the masked man turns around he turns to find a brown-haired youth staring back at him.

This is Chang-min after the training his body has reached the limit of its potential.

He's the height 5'8 with long brown hair. His hair looks unkempt only controlled by the man bun he made with a hair tie made of grass. He's wearing a compact black suit seemingly showing off his perfect body from the training. His hazel eyes were the only thing that remained the same. The same childish look but at the same time had a hidden beast underneath it.

As the masked man viewed Chang-min he silently nodded proudly of making a warrior such as him.

"It's time for you to go."

"Go where?"

"I told you didn't I? You were chosen to become a hero. The training is over and now you have to complete your mission"

Hearing his words Chang-min clenched his fist. During the training, he was constantly taught that humans were good and monsters were the enemies of humans. They feasted on our race alongside rape and beat the women and children. He was trained and was constantly told how evil monsters were and now he was finally able to start slaying them.

A giant yellow portal appeared and Chang-min felt like it was pulling him towards it.

As he took steps forward he turned around to look at the masked man.

"What do you want? The portal ain't waiting for no one."

"Sword"

Hearing what he said the man laughed.

Chang-min was confused about why he was laughing.

"I did say something about giving you a sword didn't I."

The sword that was lodged into the ground flew out and into Chang-mins hand.

The man gave Chang-min a sheath to put the sword on and nodded.

"I'm sorry"

"What're you sorry for master?"

"It's nothing"

Chang-min felt something was off but the portal started closing and he needed to go.

As he walked he stopped at the entrance of the portal. He turned around and did a deep bow.

"Goodbye, master!"

Entering the portal he disappeared.

The man stayed in the same spot looking at the place the portal once was.

"Damn it, I hope you realize how corrupt life truly is."

Chang-min walked out of the portal and found himself in a room with 4 other people.

1 was a woman who had a spear strapped on her back. She had fiery red hair and had a perfectly toned body seemingly from the years of training he went through. She had sharp features that made her look masculine but at the same time, the look in her eyes seemed like a gentle breeze.

Another one had a bow on his back alongside sporting blonde hair. His hair seemed to have a small dark tinge to it which made it look dirty. He had natural features that made anyone think he was a nice guy alongside his above-average looks. But what was alarming was the look in his eyes. He looked like someone cunning and decisive.

The last 2 people seemed to be twins as such. One of them had twin daggers on their sides and the other had a staff of sort. One had dark black hair and the other had bright silver hair. They looked similar both beautiful but they had completely different auras. One had the feeling of darkness and a beast that's ready to kill you in a second. While the other had the feeling of purity and would help even the smallest creature.

As he entered the room they all started to look in his direction.

Noticing the gazes he was getting he simply raised his hand in a waving motion.

"Yo"

Ignoring the gazes that seemed to be sizing him up he walked until he found a chair in the corner of the room.

He sat down and started to close his eyes. He wanted to do some meditation before whatever would happen started.

Doing his breathing exercises he felt his body get lighter.

FWOOM

Loud winds started to conjure in the room as the pressure seemed to increase rapidly.

The room's temperature seemed to have dropped below freezing as the room got darker more sinister.

Chang-min started looking around looking for the enemy. His senses were alarming him to run away with everything he had. But where could he run?

"Stop it before you scare the kids."

"Sorry sometimes I just forget to hold myself back"

The pressure in the room seemed to instantly disappear as those words were said.

Looking up there were two humanoid-looking creatures in suits.

One had the face of a hyena and the other the face of a lion.

The hyena had a mischievous look on his face while the lion was more composed and had a serious one.

The hyena felt like the joker and the lion would be the king. The lion had grace while the hyena had none of the sorts.

"Ahem, Welcome heroes as you are finally entering the place that you trained for, the Tower.

Hearing those words Chang-min looked up and clenched his fist.

The moment he's been training for is finally here. And he's more ready than he'll ever be.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He was wrong.

Ready? That's laughable to the number of things he had to go through.

None of the training he did prepare him for this.

As they entered the tower they met life and death situations repeatedly.

At one point a hero even gave up. Once one hero gave up the others began to waver until they undecidedly gave up as well.

Feeling the bliss of not having to go through life and death situations made their decisions more firm than ever.

Chang-min wasn't going to give up that easily though. He continued to fight against monsters and the passage of time.

After decades of fighting, he finally reached the 100th floor. But the funniest thing about it all was the fact that the tower was never meant to be beaten alone. You needed all 5 heroes to kill the last boss. If you didn't have them then you would only result to losing.

Noticing this he began to plea to the other heroes to help him. He told them about the people he's saved and how evil the monsters were but they didn't listen.

They said he was brainwashed and was unable to differentiate between true good and evil.

While he was begging the heroes the two beasts appeared again.

It was like they were the devils coming here to make a deal.

They began to tell them about the rewards and riches they would be able to get. And how the more they helped in defeating the tower the bigger the reward.

The devil's temptations were hard to resist and in the end, the heroes couldn't resist.

But there is a problem they were low leveled and didn't have the equipment prepared for this.

Hearing they were ready to work Chang-min spent years helping them level up and reach the max level 100 as he did.

They got the best armor and the best tools they could for their respective classes.

As they got ready to fight the boss little did Chang-min know that the blonde-haired archer was ready to betray him. No better yet all of the heroes were.

While they were dazed he still remembered how the lion and hyena told them that whoever contributes most to saving the tower would get a higher reward.

But what about them? They sat on their ass for years and did nothing while Chang-min did the saving.

They felt envious of the rewards he would get.

Then he remembered what if they killed him?

There would be no one who could get the major reward but them.

Even though in their hearts this was a perfect plan they forgot one major flaw. They were heroes, not villains.

As they fought the final boss it was a hard battle but Chang-min was able to deal the last blow.

As he dropped from the ground ready to celebrate he felt a dagger go through his chest and into his heart.

He was low from the fight against the boss and that blow was more than enough to finish him off.

As he looked down at the dagger he turned to find a black-haired woman looking at him with cold eyes.

As he looked up he noticed the gazes of the heroes. Contempt, disdain, and even envy.

He tried to speak but blood seemed to come out of his mouth.

As he started to fall on the ground he could he the celebrations of the heroes as they walked away with the boss's rewards.

The rain started pouring as if signaling the death of a hero.

A dagger was poking out of his chest as he faced upwards on the ground.

The leaf band in his hair seemed to fall out and his long brown hair fell.

He looked dirty and covered in blood.

The black plating armor he had started to shine alongside his sword as they slowly disappeared.

'Why did this happen?'

'Was it because I did something wrong?'

'Master told me humans were all good. Was he lying to me?'

'No, no Master wouldn't lie to me. HE WOULDN'T!'

He was in denial trying to not think of the bad thoughts of being lied to but they kept coming.

'I never should have trusted those so-called heroes"

'Maybe I was too childish to believe that everyone was good'

He wanted to believe that everyone was good because he didn't want the dream he promised himself to reach to be shattered but it seems like that's too late.

'I should have done something differently.'

'I should have never asked for their help'

'If I wasn't so weak maybe I wouldn't have even needed their help, to begin with'

He felt powerless, weak, and even helpless.

He was bleeding out but with his stats, it just made his inevitable death even slower.

He had no health potions nor anything to heal him.

He felt like he was useless.

As his consciousness started to wane. His eyes were struggling to stay open.

'Stronger... if only I was stronger.'

As he looked at the sky even though it was pouring down rain there seemed to be a clearing in the clouds.

A beautiful sky with stars appeared. So dazzling beautiful it made one's breath seem to go away.

Seeing this beautiful scene a rigid smile seemed to be plastered on his face.

"Beautiful"

Was his last words as the last amount of strength he had left his body.

The armor and sword he had also disappeared in his wake.

What was left was a boy covered in blood but bathed in the light of the moon.

*WILL IS TOO DISORGANIZED AND UNSTABLE TO INTEGRATE*

(A/N: Spirit is basically the mind so to say. It also represents the magic stat in the novel. The spirit stat is mainly my own idea to make my book a little more original I wanted it to represent a person's character alongside that. A king's magic will be graceful and elegant while a poor man's magic will obviously look not as good. This also helps in the case of if a prideful person used magic his magic will be filled with pride and his magic will represent that. Will is pretty much the will of someone. If they have a strong sense of connection towards that land there growth and talent might increase depending on how strong there will is. If a person has the strong will to grow stronger then they will grow stronger but there will have to be strong before anything else.)

"Minny?"

Snapping back into reality he turns to see his mother staring at him with a worried look.

Feeling the cold sweat on his palms he noticed that he started thinking too deeply about the past.

"I'm a fine mother I was just thinking of something unpleasant"

The mother wanted to ask what was bothering him but seeing his gaze she left it alone and decided to ask another day.

As Chang-min turns back to look at the tower his original gaze filled with worry was replaced with a gaze of content and satisfaction.

'In this life, I won't have any regrets and I'll make sure they won't go through that pain again.'

Thinking of this 2 shadows seem to hover over him.

No one can see them even Chang-min but he can feel their presence.

I wanted to rush his backstory a bit because I felt like it wasn't needed to have a long ass backstory plus I never really gave it much thought as it wasn't that cool. The reason he kept a childish mentality was that he laid in a bed for his whole life and only trained after that. He never had any social interactions or anything. Even when he was a hero he only fought monsters and helped when he was called. So if he doesn't act his age that's the reason. Hope you enjoy the story if you have questions comment them.
