Hermione's Riddle

It's the middle of the war and so far, Hermione, Harry, and Ron have been in it together. That is, until Hermione is given a secret task by the deceased Dumbledore. Will she be able to complete it? Will she even truly know what it is that she is supposed to do? Excerpt: Tom propped himself up onto his elbows, slowly so as to not startle the witch. It wasn't out of consideration, he just didn't want to startle her in case she drew her wand. He realized he was making excuses in his head as to why he lingered in her touch. If Tom was to succeed in the future that he had planned out, he would have to figure out what was wrong with him. "You're awake," said Hermione with a small, friendly smile, one he had not seen from her before. Tom narrowed his eyes. He noticed that it was becoming difficult to glare with each passing day. "You were running your fingers through my hair," accused Tom. She frowned. "I did?" asked Hermione puzzled.

Extra 6: The Memory Box

The Cloaked Man

Filch glided up the stairs, tightening the Invisibility Cloak around him. Screams and curses flung around him. It would do no good to be spotted before it was time.

He maneuvered around the countless battles taking place around him, careful not to be hit with a stray spell. Signs of a struggle up a head reached him. If memory serves, this was the battle that he was looking for. It was definitely a new experience to view the battle first hand instead of through Hermione's memories.

Up ahead of him were two Death Eaters. Their opponents were two gangly redheads and behind them were three younger students, another gangly redhead, a boy with black hair and glasses, and a girl with brown curly hair that resembled that of a lion's mane. Soon, everything will fall into place.

One of the Death Eaters shot off a spell. It hit the wall, causing the wall and parts of the ceiling to crumble, scattering the group.

Filch quickly made his way to the people. He shot off two rapid fire killing curses at the immobile Death Eaters before making his way to a fallen redhead.

"Fred, wake up." He shook the Weasley boy awake.

"Who's there!" Fred demanded as he blindly searched for his wand. Filch revealed his face to the scared boy. "You!" Fred shouted hoarsely.

"Me," Tom, in his Filch form, laughed. "Fred, would you like to play one last joke?"

"Now? Are you out of your bloody mind! We're in the middle of a war!"

Grunts and moans sounded around them. It looked as if time was almost up. The stranger pulled out a potion bottle from a hidden pocket. He waved it in front of the trouble maker. "You sure? Take this and I'll guarantee that your family will survive."

"How're you gonna do that?" Fred questioned.

Filch sighed. He should have known this wouldn't be easy. He shoved the potion at the boy. "It's Dumbledore's will. Now take the bloody drink and I promise you'll pull a prank like never before on your mother." He needed to hurry up and save his favorite student, Hermione not included, before his Hermione finds out he was gone.

"On mum?" A devious smile came to Fred's lips. "Got yourself a deal." The boy chugged the potion down in one gulp. "What does it-" Fred Weasley fell silent. His eyes stared unseeing up at the ceiling. To the world, the boy appeared to be dead. The only sign that the boy's spirit had not left the world was the smile splayed on his lips.

Filch pulled the cloak back up around him. His task was completed. It was now time to return before he was missed. It was time to meet Hermione to save their last person. Hopefully, she will like the surprise that will rise back from the dead later.

A Twist

Mrs. Norris hopped over debris and dead bodies in an attempt to find one Remus Lupin and Tonks. She had snuck away from Filch in an attempt to save Harry's family. She found what she was looking for.

Lupin was in the middle of battling Antonin while Tonks was up against Bellatrix. Mrs. Norris felt her hair stand on end and her tail go stiff. She really hated Bellatrix Lestrange.

With a small, wandless spell that she had learned to do while in her cat form, she sent two rapid stun spells toward Lupin and Tonks. The two collapsed toward the ground with their hands reaching for each other.

Bellatrix let out a laugh and hopped up and down in excitement.

"Don't celebrate yet," Antonin told the crazy woman. "They went down too easily." He stepped closer to the bodies. Mrs. Norris felt her blood run cold. He absolutely could not check them!

Right before Antonin or Bellatrix could reach the bodies to check for a pulse, a spell shot out at them. The Death Eaters and Mrs. Norris turned as one. Three seventh year witches had their wands raised.

Mrs. Norris took the opportunity that arose and dashed forward. While everyone was distracted, she clawed open the vial in her mouth and poured its contents into Lupin and Tonk's mouths. It was a potion that allowed the drinker to appear dead. She wasn't sure why Filch had it in his possession, but she saw an opportunity to put it to good use.

The Bat

"There you go," said Filch as he sat Severus up. The wound on his neck was nicely healed thanks to Filch getting there in time.

He ran a quick diagnostic on the man. All venom was out of his system. It was a good thing that he had snuck some potion into Severus' last drink that fought all types of snake venom for up to twenty-four hours.

Mrs. Norris let out a meow. "He'll be fine. We just need to get him somewhere safe for now."

His love put a paw on Severus' leg and Filch apparated them to the safe house.

"It's about bloody time!" Moody yelled upon their arrival.

"Can we join the battle now? I hate that I've been away from my godson for so long. I have to make sure he is safe."

Filch glared at the two annoying men. How in the world could anyone put up with these two?

"You both are staying here," Filch said coldly. "Severus here, will let you know when it is time for you to leave." He turned a hard stare onto Sirius. "Your godson will be fine but you cannot interfere."

Sirius hung his head low, already knowing why he could not interfere in the battle or leave the safehouse for that matter. Filch and Mrs. Norris had already explained to the two about the events that were to happen and how they were supposed to happen.

"So...we babysit the bat?" Sirius asked dejectedly.

Filch gently picked up Mrs. Norris and gave her a loving pat on the head. "He should wake up soon," was his departing words before he apparated back to the battle.

The Reunion

Harry stood in tears. Hermione and Tom had been taken away by the Ministry. Harry, the Weasleys, Snape, and Mad-Eye had followed. It warmed her heart to see so many people trying to help her and Tom.

What had brought Harry to tears was Sirius. He had burst through the Ministry doors, causing a scene.

She and Tom watched as Sirius realized that Harry was in the room and Harry realized that his Godfather was alive. The two strode toward each other and wrapped each other in hugs as they sobbed, quite loudly in Sirius' case. It was quite a sight to see.

"You two have been busy," commented Fred.

After the tears died down and the room became a little quieter, the hearing began.

It lasted for days, but the good news was that it ended on a good note. It turned out that quite a few of the Ministry members had been in school while Filch was the caretaker. Hermione had the feeling that they got off easy because most of the members felt bad for everything that they had done to Filch and Mrs. Norris.

Everything to Remember

Hermione twirled around, the dress flowing around her legs gracefully.

"You look beautiful," breathed her mother. Ginny and Hester nodded along in agreement.

Hermione was dressed in a floor length white wedding gown that just barely touched the floor. The bodice and sleeves were form fitting with see-through floral patterns on them. Adorning her neck was a choker made of diamonds, courtesy of Tom's grandmother. Her hair was tied up in a looped, loose braid with diamond butterflies pinned into it. Her gown and her wedding were on the extravagant side thanks to the Ministry and former Hogwarts students. It only confirmed her belief that they were trying to make up for the years of torment that were inflicted onto Tom and her when they were in their Filch and Mrs. Norris form.

"It's time," Ginny said excitedly. She and Hester took up their positions as bridesmaids and walked out the door. Her mother led her out to where her father stood. Both parents walked her down the aisle.

Down by the podium were the twins looking dashing in their suits. Tom had insisted that they should be his best men. She was just thankful that they weren't playing any pranks nor had any surprises awaiting them.

Tom stood in the center with his back tall and straight. His slender and firm body was accentuated by the tight black suit that he wore. He had on a green tie with Slytherins crest to show his lineage. His hair, which was now longer, hung in loose waves just like how Hermione liked it. His brown eyes sparkled with unbridled lust and desire. His smile was wide and full of love.

Shivers ran down her spine in anticipation of tonight's events.

Several wolf whistles blew out when Hermione walked down the aisle. She had the feeling that she and Tom would be named as the hottest married couple in the papers tomorrow.

After what seemed like eternity, she finally reached Tom. Before the Minister could begin, Tom took her in his arms and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "The moment I have been waiting for is finally happening." He grabbed her hands and held them. "You look absolutely radiant, my little witch."

His words sent an automatic blush to her face and neck. "As do you. I should have you dress up more often," she teased, though she was certainly planning on holding her words true.

Laughter erupted from the audience. The twins, and probably most of their guests, smirked at the happy couple.

The minister cleared his throat, "shall we proceed?" They turned toward the Minister and nodded, Tom never letting go of her hands.

One of Each

"I want a little sister," whined Kathy.

"No, a brother," whined Monty.

Hermione laughed at her children. Kathy and Monty were her three year old twins, who much to Tom's joy, resembled her more than him in looks. Though their hair was a lot tamer than what hers had been.

Tom came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her belly. "I agree with them. One of each."

Hermione shook her head with a smile. "No more twins."

"Yeah, no more twins, daddy," chimed in Monty.

"I think twins would be lovely," commented Mary.

"See, even grandmother agrees," said Tom as he placed a chaste kiss to her cheek, drawing out 'ewws' from the children.
