The Atkins Mansion

In the northwest part of the city:

An elderly lady, whose wrinkled skin still had that charm, whose head was full of white hair was seen pursing her lips and smashing various items and screaming. Robert and Oliver returned home after drinking, saw this scene and their eyes grew cold. They glanced at each other and suddenly did not know what to say anymore. They did not know why she is throwing a tantrum again.

The elderly lady seemed to notice someone standing by the door and stopped smashing the items to look at who they were. After noticing them, she started smashing them hard. Suddenly, he did not know why that old man's words echoed in Robert's mind, 'Did you inherit his stupidity too?'

'Go and ask your grandfather, boy. He can explain more. But let me remind you. Sophie is protected by us. If any harm befalls her, be ready to wish goodbye to your own life.'

'Listen boy, we don't care who you are. We wouldn't care about the relationship with your old man if you try to hurt our Sophie.'

Robert seemed to have thought of something and went to his bedroom upstairs hurriedly. Oliver was puzzled at the sudden change in Robert's demeanor. "Huh? What happened to bro? Anyway...", he headed to his chamber, shaking his head. When both of them left, a woman wearing a black dress with a lot of gorgeous jewelry and not more than 45 years of age, came inside the room and looked coldly at the elderly woman and a malicious light passed through her eyes. The old woman was unaware of that. She continued smashing things, when suddenly the middle aged woman grabbed hold of her hand and twisted it.

"You are misbehaving again?", she glared at the old lady. The old woman seemed to be very afraid of the middle aged woman and tried to shuffle away, but was caught again.

"Running away, are we?", she gritted her teeth and asked maliciously.

"No... no, no, not running... not running anywhere. Leave... Leave me alone... I.. I have been.... good.... I am good. Not... Not misbehaving... Not at all... Never....", the old lady kept repeating herself in the most pitiful way as her hoarse voice became softer, until she couldn't say anymore and started crying out of fear.

Robert returned to his bedroom, deep in thought. Today's episode somewhat cleared his mind and he felt that something was not right otherwise that old man would not have said such things.

'But what happened actually?', he thought, but couldn't find its answer.

'Will I have to ask Grandfather, then?', he paused for a while seriously considering this thought.

But in the next moment he felt dejected, 'Why would he help me, especially after that incident?'

He was at a dead end. He did not know what to do!

After much thought, he decided to take risk and ask his old man about that year's events. Only his grandfather could tell him what exactly transpired that fateful night. With that thought in mind, he changed into his bedtime clothes and got on the bed to sleep. Many thoughts roamed around his brain, and he couldn't fall asleep, but he tried regulating his breathing and fell asleep in no time.
