ADOPTIVE SISTER

Amari drew a sharp breath as she took a step closer to Stephanie. She could understand Stephanie's anger. In fact, even though the rest of the circle was not showing it, she knew that they were pretty upset at her too.

"I messed up. I know… You guys have always had my back even when I didn't know it," she paused when she reached Stephanie. Her green eyes boring into Stephanie's ocean blue ones.

"I am so sorry I did something like this and didn't even tell you. Kara tricked me but I won't give her all the blame. I played my part too. I knew there would be repercussions but I still did it. I am sorry. No more secrets I promise," Amari said, turning her head to look at each of them one at a time.

"It's fine," Nathan spoke first and a light smile curved her lips.

"Let's fix this and make it fun while at it," Stephanie said and Amari's smile broadened.

"Thank you," she mouthed at Stephanie who just shrugged her shoulders at her.
