A familiar Scent.

Lynn's eyes gaped in confusion as she realized all eyes were now on her. She looked behind, wondering if there was something interesting behind her, but no. It was all her. She stepped back a little as the stares made her uncomfortable.

It felt like back then...

She paused with a frown at her thought, back when? She froze in her track as she felt spmwthing seeping back into her memory.

Suddenly,

the picture in front of her changed.

***She saw girl in front of a gateway. Sprawled on the ground in a long white blood stained undergarment dress, her feet was left bare and her lips chapped. Dried up blood stain at the side of her face from a cut as the cold night pierced her skin. The wooden torch on both sides of the gateway lit up the night as Lynn finally made out the source of the growls from a line of wolves decorating the front with their presence. Someone casually walked out through the gate and came to a stop few steps away from the girl, his long white hair fell down his shoulders to his waist, the red cape of royalty couldn't be compared to his blood red eyes that looked down at her in disdain. The girl slowly shuffled back as she felt her heart tighten out of fear as the pack of hungry wolves who bared their fangs at her suddenly got ready to attack. She stared up at the eyes that lacked empathy, and only one word escaped his lips.

"Hunt". ***

"Who is she?"

"I don't smell a wolf on her."

"She's human."

"Human?! How is a human supposed to get us out of this?"

"I thought everyone knows how much the prince hates humans. I don't see her helping,"

"but I do see her getting snapped first."

They spoke amongst themselves as they couldn't hide their doubtful minds and unrest.

"Why did you bring her here?" Aaron asked softly and Adam stared at him for answers. Simon gave them a reassuring look as he replied.

"Don't worry. She'll be fine"

"I don't think she is. Something's wrong?" Mrs Smith said as she looked in Lynn's direction.

Their heads turned to see Lynn fall back to the ground and their long hearing picked up on her destabilized breathing. Simon ran over to her with his vampire speed as Adam did the same and they now stood next to Lynn.

"Lynn. What's wrong?" Simon went down and held her. She clutched his arm tightly as her loud gasps didn't seem to give her air, tears rolled down her eyes and her body trembled in fear as she looked really scared and spaced out.

"Lynn!" Adam called as he also went down but she didn't respond. He looked up at Simon worriedly "What's happening to her?"

"I'm not sure."

Simon knew it wasn't just his imagination the last time, her body was boiling hot again just like it was at school, then he noticed her eyes were fixed on the wolves. He knew she hated dogs but he'd never seen her react this way even with one up close.

"I need to get her away from here." He said and carried her in his arms. He needed her help, but he didn't feel good seeing her like this, he also didn't want her to get hurt.

He turned to leave with her and froze.

"Shoot." he muttered under his breath.

The air got heavy as the wind picked up the presence that approached them, every one of the wolves felt his presence and immediately fell to the ground on one knee with their heads bowed. Adam also hung his head low as he couldn't help but notice the insane vampire pressure that peered through the wolf's aura. Their bloods ran cold as the aura around him changed.

He was angry.

Lynn on the otherhand couldn't control herself. She felt choked up and her heart wouldn't stop squeezing up, it hurt real bad that she had barely made out Simon lifting her up as her vision blurred out once again. Admist her pain she faintly made out a deep male's voice that sounded unfamiliar.

"Give her to me."

She felt her body being carefully moved as she felt someone sturdy hug her in like a child, it felt warm and comforting, and it was then she smelt it.

The scent crawled up her nose and a nostalgic feeling hit her, it calmed her nerves immediately and she found herself relaxing as the fear in her from a minute ago dissipated like it was never there. The scent of flowers seeping out of him soothed her and before she could try to open her eyes again, she was out.

Simon watched Lynn calm down in White's hold but he still couldn't get himself to calm down 'cause he knew he'd messed up. White showed up at the worst time possible and Simon knew it was going to affect White already sour mood. White kept staring at Lynn like she could break anytime and Simon stayed quiet. White finally let out a sigh, then he glared at Simon but didn't utter a word. Instead, he walked past him and walked over to the wolves who still stayed on their knees.

That made Simon even more disturbed. "White-I mean, my lord, they had nothing to do with this. I swear."

White completely ignored Simon as he came to a stop in front of them, he stared at their bowed heads as Simon couldn't stop fidgeting behind him.

"Lift your heads." White said in his usual calm voice, but no one raised their heads as they all froze on the ground. He added "I'm not your prince anymore so lift your heads."

They were all aware of this. They knew how he had cut all ties with them and his family. They knew how he'd stayed away for centuries. They knew he'd lost the title 'Prince'. And yet with all this they also knew the title meant nothing to him. His powers still remained as strong as ever, he might not be a Prince by name but his powers, strength, and he as a whole deserved the treatment of royalty. Even without his royal authority, he could still have their heads in a swoop.

So they dared not raise their heads.

White let out a sigh as his patience was running thin. "Raise your heads now before I make you wish you have heads to lift". He growled as his fangs stuck out, and immediately, their heads flew up. He stuck his fangs back in and stared at their faces for a moment, then he spoke up as his voice that had gone back to being calm.

"I only had the thought of ripping out your hearts on my way here... but I changed my mind. Look at her," White said referring to Lynn and their eyes shifted to the human they had lost doubt in a moment ago. "Thanks to the uproar you all caused, your King is bound to want in on this. Knowing him, he's definitely going to try something. I believe you can tell she's human, and a human shouldn't be dragged into his idea of 'fun'... especially not her. Now, how are you going to fix this and make up for your carelessness? I'll tell you. A scratch on her and a head will roll."

So basically, they have to keep an eye on her and guard her or they lose their head, Simon thought and sighed. He couldn't tell which was better. Just getting killed now or having to watch Lynn, 'cause once the king finds out about White being protective of a human, his interest would surely be picked. Now the wolves had to hide her from the king which could have their heads rolling off if he finds out they've been hiding something from him.

Either way, it leads to their heads rolling off.

White turned back and walked away as Simon followed, he watched some of them fall to the ground as the tension died down and Simon heaved in relief 'cause knew what that felt like. He's been through one, and he was currently going through it again, why? because White still hasn't said anything to him. He followed behind quietly, with Lynn still fast asleep in his arms, they sped up to her house. No one was home anyway, her parents were at work while Kylee and Darien were still at school. White set Lynn down and tucked her in carefully. He listened to her breathing to make sure it was stable and When he had confirmed she was okay, he let out a sigh of relief. Then he turned to glare at Simon.

"Come out." he ordered as he walked out of the room, they stepped out and Simon closed the door behind him. White stood with his back faced to Simon who heard him say. "Clench your teeth"

"... huh?"

White spun around and Simon's arms flew up immediately to form an x guard over his face but he had the x in the wrong place. White dug his fist into Simon's gut and sent him crashing through the wall in Lynn's room, Simon let out a loud grunt as he clenched his lower chest as he laid sprawled out on the debris while he coughed out from the dust as his inside hurt. White walked in through the hole they'd just made and said.

"Stop your grunting, are you trying to wake Lynn up?" He asked with a dead serious face.

"Are you kidding me right now? You're the one who just kicked me through a wall" Simon shot back with a glare.

"Quit being a baby. If that hurts then you should probably withdraw from your position as one of the two fangs. No fang of mine should falter from a slight hit."

"Crazy b******" Simon silently cursed as he got up, and White didn't seem disturbed at his use of words.

"Why was she there?" He questioned

"She had to be there." Simon replied as he swallowed the blood gathering in his mouth. "You weren't thinking straight and I needed to make you calm down."

"So you got her involved in all this just 'cause you wanted me to calm down?!"

"Well there was nothing else I could do!" Simon yelled back. "I understand you're doing all this for her but did you stop to think some of your actions might hurt her? For goodness sake. She has friends who are more like family to her among those wolves and you were going to just take all that away from her without batting an eye and you expect me to just watch you go ahead with it?"

White went quiet as he gave it a thought, then he said as he looked away "You could have just said something and not put her in distress by taking her to a place surounded by wolves."

Simon's eyes widened in shock.

"What? I was all over you the whole day trying to get you to understand but maybe if someone had tried to listen we wouldn't be in this situation we are right now."

They both went quiet as White seemed to give it a thought.

"Sorry" he muttered with the roll of his eyes and Simon stared at him in disbelief. A chuckle left his lips as he moved closer to White and placed his hand on his shoulder before saying.

"Sorry?" Simon said with a smile. The smile faded off as he added "That wouldn't cut it White."

In a flash, he threw his fist at White, but White saw it coming as he caught Simon's fist mid-air, Simon saw this coming and his leg flew up to give White a direct hit in the stomach as he sent him flying this time out another hole.

"Now I accept your apology." Simon said in satisfaction as he dusted his hands. He watched White struggle to get up and he scoffs. "Come on White. You literally bursted my ribs but I took it better than you did."

"Shut it stupid," White squeezed out and Simon noticed something was actually wrong with him.

"Hey. I didn't hit you that hard you know?" He said which was actually a fact. It wasn't the first time they were having a brawl. Most times, Simon's kick would bounce back and barely leave a scratch on White. He heard White grunt out like he was struggling and Simon got worried, he moved closer and crouched next to him.

"Hey. Are you oka–"

Simon paused as he noticed White's claws crawling out, his eyes had gone crimson red, yet, what had Simon more surprised was the black stretch marks that appeared on White's hands, 'cause knew what they were and what caused it.

"You didn't take the blood?" Simon asked

"-no."

"Why?"

"...I hate it...it tastes bitter." White said as he took in deep breaths.

Simon went speechless as he couldn't believe his ears. "Are you trying to kill yourself? Your vampire side needs blood."

Simon rolled up his sleeves and stretched his arm out to White. "Here. It doesn't help much but it's better than nothing."

White shoved his hand away as he gritted his teeth. "It's fine, it'll go away if I just relax. It works all the time."

"All the time? This isn't the first time?!" Simon yelled in surprise.

"Calm down. You're gonna wake Lynn up with all your nagging."

"When was the last time you drank the blood pack I sent to you? I'm sure I still sent you some last week so you don't run out. I started mixing in honey 'cause I knew you'd give such a silly excuse."

"You did? I didn't know about that." White said and Simon paused. He went quiet for a moment as he stared at White who seemed confused at his sudden silence. "What?" White had to ask as Simon's stare began to make him uncomfortable. "What's on my face?"

"White" Simon called and White's eyes widened out of curiosity.

"What is it?"

"Since I started mixing honey with the blood, this is the tenth time I'll send it to you. I send blood to you every decade. This being the tenth time, and a decade is ten years... 100 years."

White face folded up in confusion once again as he wondered why Simon was suddenly interested in maths.

"Since you don't know about the honey–" Simon said and White averted his gaze.

"–don't tell you haven't had blood in 100 years."

White swallowed as Simon caught his face to stop it from turning any further, then he moved White'd face until their eyes met and White saw Simon look furious.

"Answer me White. When was the last time you fed your vampire?"
