Revisiting the past
Swafan felt scared as he watched little Humeyra tumble down the stairs. Though he was almost naked for a moment, he felt his heart stop beating due to the fear that he had killed her.
Swafan rushed back into his old room to dress and took a step at a time praying to God that she was alive.
He had not meant to hurt her like that. He knew that his mother wont mind and a sick twisted part of her would be happy to hear that the little girl had died but that was not the case for him.
He just wanted to satisfy his obsessive feelings which led to his animalistic behaviour.
He had gently knelt near her unresponsive body and felt for her pulse.
He had let out a loud sigh the moment he felt her faint pulse and rushed her to the hospital.
The present
It was Hamdan who first noticed Humeyra's absence. He was so occupied with the father and daughter's presence that he had forgotten about his grieving lover.
