Intelligent but dense

" Get on your knees!" The officer ordered.

Less than a second later, what seemed like a dozen officers surrounded the garden.

" On your knees!" The officer ordered the armed men again.

Just when the other officers were about to nab them, Candy jerked her head towards Prince Kinsey and one of her men immediately flung his hand across Prince Kinsey's neck, and held a gun to his head. Ava was immediately nabbed as well.

" Stand back!" He ordered, while Prince Kinsey struggled to pull away from his grip. The sergeant then raised his clenched fist up, causing his men to come to a halt.

" Let me go!" Ava said, struggling to free herself from one of Candy's men grip...which pretty much seemed like a vain attempt in the end.

Candy folded her arms before curving her lips into a smile. "Drop your weapons, or he dies." Candy ordered as she abruptly wore the look of a she-devil.

" Don't listen to her. She's just gonna kill everyone if you do." Prince Kinsey said, meeting the officer's gaze.

" Aww, such a selfless prince." Candy said, raising her hand to her chest with a pout, like she was touched by Prince Kinsey's words.

" If not for the fact that you're so gullible and that it's in your destiny to die by my hands minutes from now, I would have loved you to be the Crown Prince, since you're so selfless.'' Candy added, faking a sad smile.

" Unfortunately, I will have to kill you first, so even if you do get to become a Crown Prince..." Candy said, putting her hands behind her, "...you'll be a dead one." she added before looking at Prince Kinsey who didn't meet her gaze.

" So for the last time, drop your weapons and stand back!" Candy ordered as she turned to look at the officers who were starting to get on her nerves.

The sergeant known as Smith made eye contact with the rest of his men before nodding slightly.

They then retired their arms to the side before taking a step back. Sergeant Smith however, was the last person to do so. His eyes were lazer focused on the Prince.

" Now drop your weapons." Candy ordered.

" You are going against_"

Swiftly, Candy strode over to where one of her men stood before she took his gun from him and aimed it at Prince Kinsey's chest.

" Now!"

" You heard her." One of Candy's men said, as they aimed their guns at the officers.

" Put your weapons down." The sergeant ordered his men. " Sir_"

" Just do it.'' Sergeant Smith said to one of the officers who tried to protest. The officers then raised their hands in surrender, before they squatted slowly.

The man holding Prince Kinsey tightened his grip even more, while Candy moved closer to the Prince, such that the hand gun was pressing against his chest.

Without sequence, the officers dropped their guns on the ground. " Now stand back!" Candy ordered.

They then stood properly, before taking a few steps back. That was when one of Candy's men realized Sergeant Smith had not dropped his gun yet

" You, what are you waiting for? Drop your weapon and stand back!" He ordered, causing Candy to turn to the Sergeant. " Do it!" She shouted.

Ava on the other hand could observe the communication between Prince Kinsey and sergeant Smith.

So to be of further help, Ava thought to push her luck by trying to distract Candy, praying she wouldn't lose her life in the process while she created a little room for the Prince and officer to do whatever they had to.

" You're not gonna get away with this!" Ava exclaimed suddenly, causing Candy to turn to her direction since Ava was behind her.

" I already have sweetie." Candy replied with a smug look. "And I'm sure you can agree by simply looking around." Candy commented.

" It's disappointing to think you deserve to punish anyone over the execution of your father." Ava said, looking Candy in the eye. The man holding her then tightened his grip on her arm, causing her to wince.

" Shut your mouth!" Candy shouted before she walked over to where Ava was standing and delivered a resounding slap that had Ava seeing stars even as her hair completely covered her face.

But that however, did not stop her from saying all she wanted and needed to say. So after a few seconds, by the time she had recovered a little, Ava straightened up before she continued,

" Truth hurts Candy. But you have to face it!" Ava said, still looking her in the eye before she continued, " I'm sure while he killed till he lost count, he must've killed somebody else's child, niece, aunt, husband, somebody else's FATHER!" Ava exclaimed as she felt goosebumps all over her.

" I said shut up!" Candy shouted before using the end of the handgun she was holding to hit Ava on the head. Grabbing a fistful of Ava's hair, while she held her head up harshly,

" I promise I'll kill you for mentioning my father's name you wretched b*tch!" Candy shouted in Ava's ear.

Releasing her hair, Candy walked over to Prince Kinsey before resuming her previous posture - back straight, hand with a gun in it - aimed at his chest.

'' Stand back and don't make me repeat myself!" Candy said to the officers who she observed were still a little too close to her. By this time, Sergeant Smith had already dropped his gun on the ground. He did that because he had another tucked at his side, which Candy's men did not observe.

Seeing that none of them moved a muscle, Candy resetted the trigger before aiming at Prince Kinsey's head this time. That forced them to take several steps backwards yet again.

" Don't do this." Prince Kinsey pleaded.

" I won't, if you tell these scumbags to return to where they came from." Candy responded.

" And if they don't? Are you gonna kill me?" Prince Kinsey asked. "Go ahead then. Kill me. And see if you'll make it out alive." The prince stated, daring to look the fuming Candy in the eye. But looking at Candy was not the only thing he was doing.

While Prince Kinsey was speaking to Candy or better still, daring her, he was communicating with the sergeant using signs.

During the brief drama between Candy and Ava, the prince was slowly adjusting, such that the neck of the man holding him was exposed, creating enough space for a bullet.

Prince Kinsey was almost as tall as he was, but sergeant Smith didn't want to take chances - especially not with the life of his favorite prince and Royal Family member to a large extent.

For the years of Prince Kinsey's friendship with the sergeant, he learnt a thing or two about communication and signs officers used in the field. And what better time to use that knowledge to his advantage.

At the moment, Prince Kinsey had his index finger and thumb forming the letter 'C' which stood for 'Take the shot.' And so talking to Candy was another form of distraction to himself, since his heart was pounding because of how nervous he felt.

Sergeant Smith on the other hand had his eyes focused on the target. His neck specifically, since that was the only opening he had.

" Well I might not kill you, not now atleast, but I don't mind shooting you where it's gonna hurt. So if I were you, I'd be advising them to turn around and leave.'' Candy advised.

" You're still gonna kill me anyway." Prince Kinsey replied.

" Then I suppose you wouldn't mind suffering from this very minute." Candy said before taking a step backwards. With a sly smile, she moved her arm downwards slowly, and stopped at Prince Kinsey's knees.

Ava who couldn't bare to see the prince lose his leg spoke up impulsively, as she planned on pushing her luck one more time.

" Candy!" she exclaimed.

With a smirk Candy turned to her. " What? Don't wanna see me shoot your dear prince?" she asked.

" No. Please don't it. I just want to beg you to stop all of this." Ava said.

" Really? Well that's to late because your dear prince is gonna_"

" But I'm not done yet." Ava said, before her gaze flickered to Sergeant Smith who looked at her briefly. Moving her gaze back to Candy, she continued, "...I was also going to say that.."

" What?!" Candy asked with a quirked brow.

" I was also going to say that you get distracted easily." Ava stated. Before Candy could realize what was happening,

'BAM!'

Ava's slipper landed on her face!

" My nose!" Candy cried.

" Now!" Sergeant Smith shouted before Prince Kinsey pushed himself further to the left, allowing the sergeant to quickly shoot the man behind him.

Candy, who's hair swept to the side obstructing her sight temporarily, shook it off her face as soon as she could. It wasn't easy for her to do that however, because it was the edge of Ava's slip-on sandal slipper that hit the bridge of her nose.

Without giving it a second thought, Candy aimed to shoot Prince Kinsey who was in front of her.

But before anyone, including Ava who was pushed to the floor, could realize what was going on, they all heard 5 gunshots, each resounding milliseconds apart.

Barely two seconds after, gunshots resounded consecutively.

And one of those gunshots, was from Candy's gun.
