Her Newfound Freedom in 'Honor'

Zhao Yingyue was used to being a puppet used by her parents to increase their image. She was raised the perfect socialite and to marry into a good family. However, that was never anything that she wanted. When nighttime came, she was no longer the perfect puppet, she was 'Luna'. In the online word, 'Luna' was an anomaly as no one knew who she was since she covered her face when she played. She wanted more but never thought it achievable. That's until she has one fateful blind date that saves her. Enter Liu Haoyu. When in desperate situations, the two band together to help each other out, finding freedom and maybe... love in the end. Who knows what the future holds for these two? This story is about a rise to greatness in character and e-sports along with a main couple's romance and maybe a few side couples.

Chapter 1: Boring Life

Zhao Yingyue looked at herself in her full-length mirror after having to wake up early and spend two hours getting ready just to go outside. Her parents, of course, would be furious if she didn't go out looking anything but her best.

Unfortunately, that was her life.

She stared in the mirror a few seconds longer. Her hair was pulled back into an intentional messy bun look. Her makeup had been expertly applied to cover any trace of imperfection—including her bags that had begun getting darker again.

Zhao Yingyue then peered into her own eyes. She had a rarity in her genetics that made her have blue eyes. Because of both that and the fact that her birthday fell on the Lunar New Year, she was named after the reflection of the moon.

It was also the primary feature that many were attracted to when they saw her. It was different so of course it increased her popularity. One of her blind dates had even been bold enough to mention how beautiful their children would be when she passed down the gene.

It was presumptuous of him to assume she would be willing to do anything with him just because she'd attended the blind date. She then ensured that she would scare him away soon after so that he would never come to her again.

That had actually been the most amusing part of the date. The look on his face when she had left saying that she "looked forward to when they'd meet next" immediately brought her mood up.

Zhao Yingyue's eyes then trailed down to her outfit for the day. She sported brown dress pants with a white blouse and tan blazer on top. Of course, it remained unbuttoned as it was only for show. Of course, she wore brown pumps to tie the outfit together.

While at the end of the day, the outfit wasn't fit for the cold winter weather outside, she knew it didn't matter. Her family only cared about how she looked. They'd just give her soup later in hopes that it would help her avoid getting sick.

Her supporters always found it so cool that she managed to keep up her style all year long without a clue that she would rather not. She was also human and felt the cold, too.

They especially loved how whatever she wore accented her natural features such as her long legs and soft facial features.

Zhao Yingyue sighed before grabbing her designer bag and walking out of her room. If she was honest, everything she wore was from some major label but she never cared enough to remember which ones.

She'd much rather be wearing some unknown brand's clothes as long as they were comfortable and warm. It was rather sad to her that she never even owned a hoodie at any point in her life.

Everyday was the same old, same old. Designer clothes and superficial activities meant to enhance her family's image.

It was dreadfully boring.

As soon as Zhao Yingyue exited the room, her manager Gu Yan looked her up and down a few times before nodding in approval.

"We have a busy day ahead of us. Let's get going immediately."

Zhao Yingyue said nothing and calmly followed behind Gu Yan. While Gu Yan's official title was as her manager, Zhao Yingyue saw her more as a nanny her parents keep around to keep a close eye on her. Though the difference wasn't huge.

As they strode through the mansion, the countless staff scattered around the house doing whatever it is they were assigned to do would stop and bow as they passed.

As usual, Zhao Yingyue just kept a calm exterior as she acknowledged them with a nod of her head.

When they reached the front doors, the pair walked outside and were met with the usual black Rolls Royce parked up front. The chauffeur, Yang Zimo, was already standing outside the car.

He immediately bowed to Zhao Yingyue and Gu Yan before opening the door to the backseat.

"Good morning Yang Zimo," Zhao Yingyue said with a soft smile as she slid in.

He didn't verbally reply but bowed once again and closed the door.

Already feeling tired though the day had yet to start, Zhao Yingyue pulled her phone from her pocket to scroll through the latest news in e-sports. She'd much rather do that and leave Gu Yan to leading the way as usual.

It's not like she had much of a say anyway. She would just quietly follow along through their tiring routines until night time came when she'd finally have a bit of peace.

Hello new readers! This is my first time writing any type of web novel and I know this chapter is short but it's just an intro to the female lead. I hope you'll continue to stick around and support me!

Feel free to comment, too! I'll be making sure to read those in this chapter and of course many many more to come!

Much love!
