The fall of a king

A man sat in his chair, his back turned to the door. His features were void of any emotion as he listened to the person on the biter side of the phone. 

The air around him was filled with tension. His hold on the phone was the only indicator of his mood. He was livid. 

Charlie didn't utter a single word even after the caller hung up. What could he say? His hand shook a little, his eyes filling up with the storm. This wasn't how he thought things would go. 

The last three months have been full of confusion and loss for the minister. His emotions were everywhere, especially where a certain little girl was concerned. 

It was truly foolish of him to lose his heart like that to someone whose death was inevitable. Of course, death was every person's right. Except that her days were numbered and everyone knew it. 

Luna was one of the complications in his life that he wasn't ready for. She came in like a storm and swept him off his feet.
